Election Results Information

I got some updated information on the official tabulation counting and it looks like this week we should see the results.

The word I'm getting is it looks like a counting start on Tuesday and Wednesday and the Official Final Numbers On Thursday with who won what postions.

It should be a very intresting week and a start towards our New Direction!

As always I'll try to keep you all posted!

Later

I heard Canale is taking it hard and has decided to take 'weeks' of vacation. I don't think he should have taken things so personal. Maybe the IAM INTL can pick him up as an organizer and be useful getting Continental to sign cards. He's a smooth talker for sure.

I just hope he gets over his pity party and steps up to the plate and gives Mr Delaney the respect he deserves by putting the 'green jacket' on Rich. Do the right thing Randy and show up and don't take this personal. I understand the pain involved of going out this way, but it happens to the best of us.
Besides we tried to give you 'good advice' and the network told you we were coming for you. If you only would have listened and understood us and retired you would have got your "Iam Watch" and wouldn't have got thumped like a red headed step child.
I can't imagine anyone wanting to go out like you did with a big boot to the curb. Sorry Randy, it's sad because it didn't have to be this way.
Maybe if you didn't piss off all the workers of this district and maybe if you would have actually listened to some solid union men and women things could have been different. Maybe if you would have shown respect to Local Chairman who you disagree with. Maybe if you didn't disrespect Rich Delaney and local 1487. Maybe if you didn't disrespect Denver. Maybe if you didn't sign all those goofy contracts that were the best contracts that management ever seen. Maybe if you didn't align yourself with the dumb, castrated, individuals that you surrounded your insecure self with. Then maybe you would have kept your job. No, the only thing you apparently did was go to all the 'wine and cheese' board tours and fell in love with all the limo rides. Now that I remember everything you didn't do, I'm not really sorry.

Good. You reap what you sow.

I sincerely hope not. The last thing the IAM needs right now is someone like him still in any position of power/strength.

I just hope he gets over his pity party and steps up to the plate and gives Mr Delaney the respect he deserves by putting the 'green jacket' on Rich. Do the right thing Randy and show up and don't take this personal.

I'd be very very suprised if he "manned up" and came to the convention....

Randy ruined IAM. Now it is time for the first chapter of the "new direction".

At least this direction will keep new goofy LOA's off the table. Management cannot buy this group out. Too bad elections weren't before the lousy T/A was signed off. Then again, that is when management spins their web. They follow elections closely and wait to catch their prey.

I'm assuming that it's the Sept GL Mtg that is going to decide
the issue of voting procedures. IMO this is an extreemly important
issue. We can't afford to let any more time go by using such
an unfair system which only supports the status quo. What can
we do about it?

As to the other issue of dues I'm a little more ambivilant due mainly
to the fact that we are much better represented now. If ALL the
increased dues were earmarked for the strike fund I'd support it
100%.

Take care everyone.. see you later..BF

We simply can't allow the dues to be increased by almost double from close to $500 a year to upwards of $1,000. Let the INTL manage better instead of being a 'full blown' liberal spending machine.

The doubling of dues will not help the INTL union's real problem of membership losses. Union Busters will have it easy making 'mincemeat' out of IAM organizing drives that point to dues being $1,000 a year. Oh yeah, that's exactly what non-contract blue collar people want to do, drop another $1,000 dollars a year, in a recession.

I'd be surprised if Canale smiles and gives Delaney support
in the upcoming change but what will not surprise me is when
he doesn't. Look at the past year as an example. When an elected
or appointed union leader is questioned or voted out it becomes
personel to them. They preach ''the good of the group'' but when
they are voted out they lose all interest in union activities. Look
at PHL we don't see a United presence at the hall since US took
over through a vote. We don't see past leaders even in passing.
Locally JH (past top steward) hasn't been to a union meeting since
being voted out. We need a group of elected workers to be group
oriented and not self interest focused and we may have found that,
we'll see. Canale didn't run against Delaney as he huffed and puffed,
how dare we question him and his mostly appointed group.

Congrats to the group for making a change and lets hope that
when or if we question this leadership they remain group oriented
and not offended by our concerns.

I ask all past union leaders, where have you gone ? Were still a union
but I don't see you (are most out-spoken)....are you still union ? or were you just YOU'n ?

I will be stunned if the product of two worms mating,RC shows his face at the swearing in ceremony

Exactly

Here we preach the company needs to find ways of saving money and not take from the backs of the employees any longer. Well the same goes for the Union. Let the union find ways of increasing membership and not taking from the backs of its membership. You are spot on.......how do you convince a non union group to come to this side if we just doubled our dues? Who among us is that capable of keeping a straight face. I think the Int*l will see that the aire of the district and its change will be a good thing and is capable of improving membership, because of, improving commmunication with its membership............

Exactly Mike, under the new leadership, they agree that any dues increase would only seperate the membership from the leadership! We as a collective group need solidarity like never before! Your leadership will need full support of the membership as we together chart our future through trying times. Also as the previous post by TIM, we cannot have a dues increase and expect to organize other labor groups, especilly when non union CO has a better contract than US fleet!

Seniority Integration,

The seniority integration committee is meeting this week and I will be there. Before anything comes out, I would like to first give my opinion on the matter. I believe that the first day you started with this company as a fleet service employee should be your hire date. I know that part-time, temp-time, mergers and other factors have shaped what your seniority position is today. Even though my opinion is that hire date should be only factor, this will NOT happen because of what happened in the past with bad negotiating, bad forsight and selfishness for sure. However, I will be looking out for everyone with regards to what is currently in place as a seniority system. I will also state that pay seniority should never be affected by political views on classification seniority.

Could not have said it any better. Hey Freedom, are you listening? Do you realize what you voted for? Or maybe your too busy trying to help the company and not your co workers?

I realized what I voted for ….

I'm through with standing in line
To clubs we'll never get in
It's like the bottom of the ninth
And I'm never gonna win
This life hasn't turned out
Quite the way I want it to be

(Tell me what you want)

I want a brand new house
On an episode of Cribs
And a bathroom I can play baseball in
And a king size tub big enough
For ten plus me

I'll need a credit card that's got no limit
And a big black jet with a bedroom in it
Gonna join the mile high club
At thirty-seven thousand feet

(Been there, done that)

I want a new tour bus full of old guitars
My own star on Hollywood Boulevard
Somewhere between Cher and
James Dean is fine for me

(So how you gonna do it?)

I'm gonna trade this life for fortune and fame
I'd even cut my hair and change my name

[Chorus:]
'Cause we all just wanna be big rockstars
And live in hilltop houses driving fifteen cars
The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap
We'll all stay skinny 'cause we just won't eat
And we'll hang out in the coolest bars
In the VIP with the movie stars
Every good gold digger's
Gonna wind up there
Every Playboy bunny
With her bleach blond hair

Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar
Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar

😎

p.s we should fight the dues increase unless it's necessary to save the pension . also i agree with p rez on DOH ...

p.s we should fight the dues increase unless it's necessary to save the pension

This is the kind of statement that is really going to open you up for thread bashing! The Pension is funded by the company into IAM pension plan dues has nothing to do with your plan. Why dont you go ask RR whats his position on the Dues increase is IMO I would guess he would support his former master RC in his quest to screw the workers further by voting for this insane measure.

I realized what I voted for ….

Hey Freedom,
David Hasselhoff is looking to hook up with you so you can both be rock stars.

David Hasselhoff - Looking For Freedom

One morning in june some twenty years ago
I was born a rich man’s son
I had everything that money could buy
But freedom - I had none

I’ve been lookin’ for freedom
I’ve been lookin’ so long
I’ve been lookin’ for freedom
Still the search goes on
I’ve been lookin’ for freedom
Since I left my home town
I’ve been lookin’ for freedom
Still it can’t be found

I headed down the track, my baggage on my back
I left the city far behind
Walkin’ down the road, with my heavy load
Tryin’ to find some peace of mind
Father said you’ll be sorry, son,
If you leave your home this way
And when you realize the freedom money buys
You’ll come running home some day

I paid a lotta dues, had plenty to lose
Travelling across the land
Worked on a farm, got some muscle in my arm
But still I’m not a self-made man
I’ll be on the run for many years to come
I’ll be searching door to door
But, given some time, some day I’m gonna find
The freedom I’ve been searchin’ for

You will make a cute couple. Though his shows are confusing and flip flop too. Might be a good match?
