IAM Fleet Service topic 6/14-6/20

From what I've heard in the past, Section 7 G was intended to apply only to a small group of individuals ffrom a few bankruptcys ago. But the bottom line then (especially with a weakling yesman like JM) is that the CBA fails to define "customer service group" because, well, it's not part of the CBA.

E. The Company will make reasonable efforts to avoid having an Employee act as a temporary supervisor in a vacant full-time supervisory position in excess of one year.

IAM Tentative Agreement

Attachment C

West Managers have no classification seniority after 6 months. Case closed.

That TWU language is clear, there was 'no retention' of seniority and the east contract doesn't undo past practices. The east contract is explicit that shift managers can only utilize all retained classification seniority. The west shift managers have NONE and article 7 is clear that it upholds all past practices. This is open and shut and any worker being displaced to the street or to part-time as a result of shift managers coming back to the ramp should have no problem getting full back pay. Necigrad, let us know what is happening and why hasn't JM done a da*n thing about it????? What the hell?

send those west shift managers to Philly I am sure they would be welcomed with open arms

you tell him!! it's insulting to hear him talk about those 19 stations when two months ago he was willing write them off to put a couple bucks in his pocket.

rest assured I speak for most of CLT and many of my east brothers and sisters when I say the only way they'll get any concessions from us is to go into BK and steal it from us

I would soon this trainwreck shut the doors before they steal from me while DP and his band of clowns continue to line their pockets and pack their golden chutes. F them!

Bla bla bla , that’s all you’ve got … the contract WILL be reopened , either WILLINIGLY where we ourselves can make those changes that best suit US , or we can be idiots as many of you would like us to be and wait till chapter 7 …. If there IS a chapter 7 and not just a liquidation .

To address your point about shutting the doors , if that’s how you want it , then you should know now that you WILL be replaced , I’d replace you myself if I had to . I do not intend to allow our company to SHUT it’s doors during what may be one of the worst economic downturns in us history . If your wealthy more power to ya , but the rest of us NEED our jobs .

To address your other point about the company stealing from you in chapter 7 , well guess what Einstein the company won’t be coming to steal from you if it goes into chapter 7 again , it will be coming to save it’s self so that we can all remain employed .

Wow you guys are STILL stuck up over the passed TA , I simply cannot believe that you can’t see that if we had WAITED as so many of you wanted us to do , we would be in a WEAKER position …. We’re cutting capacity by 7-8 percent at our company this year and getting rid of 1700 workers , NEXT year we’re cutting capacity by 9-10 percent !!!!! HELLO!!! That would not have been the perfect time to bargain … we brought the west up in wages , we got rid of the sixty day rule , which might have come back to haunt some of you in the east next year and we did away with the class two designation … I’d call that some damn fine progress for our time period here ..

Why are we going to try and barging for the 19 cities we agreed to give up ? Because it should be relatively EASY to get them back …

No matter what any of you say or want , there WILL be concessions , what this company wants here and today is cash money in it’s pocket … now either way the company is going to get what the company wants …. The question is can we trade with the company … if we willingly give up some of our benefits such as our holidays and go back to the old sick policy we could perhaps get our field stations back in the fold … you see our benefits are cash money today for the company , while the field stations are a far off intangible to this company … closing the stations down in 2011 does nothing to solve the money emergency we’re having TODAY …

Many of you can and will perhaps chose to put your heads in the sand again , which is sad , your input could be valuable , but if you chose not to play like you did for the TA so be it , you can be overruled and outvoted .

Well I was looking for that clip from family guy where stewie is running his little business and goes to Brian “ok first a compliment and then a critique . sadly after searching on youtube and google I couldn’t find the clip …

So here’s the good news , while it’s likely concessions are coming , at least they won’t come till the end of summer . make your money now while you still can ...

You waste more time typing indecipherable “gobbledegook†than anyone on these threads… do you actually ever read your own posts?

Please… stop wasting our time, and energy. This will be my last post in response to anything you have to say!

You have lapsed into a surreal world of delusion!

If you can’t post anything even resembling something cognitive …don’t bother!

Just curious as to how long you have been employed by the company? You are correct that we are in a serious downturn, but a few years ago were we not making record profits and the company did not want to negotiate?? Its funny how they never seem to want to share the wealth but they love sharing the pain!!

Seriously dude, I think you may have sucked down a little to much koolaide!!!!! As far as getting anything back that was negotiated away...you use the term "easy"?? Better read up on your history!!!!

Roa , I don’t understand some of you on here ….

I know you’ve been through a lot , but I just can’t imagine how human beings could just shut themselves off to reality .

ROA , our company is going to incur over 1.9 billion dollars more in costs this year (oil alone ) … last year we made close to 500 million in profit … you do the math , it’s quite simple really .

The price of oil is expected to stay high for quite some time , years on end actually , so tell me how our company will survive ?

We’re going to downsize this year and next for a whooping total of almost 20 percent … and even then that may not be enough … how can you NOT see the possibility of concessions coming ?

These are not the old days … the rules are going to be bent and broken time and time again until our company can hold it’s own in the market ….

I don’t know how to talk to you , what is it I need to say to talk to you ? that nothing bad can or will ever happen to us in fleet again ? because I can’t say that … I can’t and refuse to ignore the coming “BUS†if you all have given up and simply want to go lay down in the street , well I guess there’s nothing I can do to stop ya .

Nelson...

I'm handin' this dude off to you!

I'm tired of debating nonsensical… preposterous sh** !

I suppose a lot of you aren’t poor , that you can’t feel the economy slowly shutting down ….

Am I the only one who gets slightly scared when the government has to send out stimulus checks to restart the economies heart ?

Consumer confidence is at a THIRTY YEAR LOW …. Without people spending , no one will buy , without people to buy , stores won’t need their workers … the us economy is going down .

To be honest right now I’m more worried about our country than our airline , us airways goes under big woo (sad for me personally but not the end of me ) .. the united states economy crashes , now that’s frightening .

I talk to others about the economy and I hear the same sentiment , a co worker was telling me about his uncle who owns a saw shop and how he used to have a million dollars worth of orders a year , now his shop sits idle . Look around at the construction industry in Arizona , it’s starting to default , home builders are going belly up …. Does anyone remember what Arizona’s major industries are ? construction is like number one or number two … state and local cities are going into the red …. Can you feel the tsunami coming ?

Freedom

You best stop while you can. Your out of your league and you don't even know it. You hide behind a name that doesn't mean what it says.......

No true union person tells a brother that you will take his place at any cost. We as union members only replace during furloughs. You I think would definitely

cross during self-help I know, but its best to keep that kind of SH*T to yourself until the time comes. If you would truely do that then you should eliminate

the word WE in your posts, because WE are not you and You are not us.
