And with Parker saying that US will sit out the Merger Mania, there is no desire to offer up anything.

West Workers suppressed some more!
Please tell me the difference between your position and the company's
position. I can't see any. This is exactly the kind of comment that
Mike S would come up with,
Here's a quote from him on the subject of outsourcing; " Have
any of you guys noticed that none of the stations on the list[outsourcing]
are on the east side?
The fact that the west is suppressed is because niether you nor the company
up to this time has been willing to give the west any more than to get
enough votes for a TA to pass.
But with education things are beginning to change in the west.

Well none were on the east cause US already outsourced thru the second BK like 17 cities

Smallestsma What are you saying. Lithuanian
When the East class II stations were furloughed in '05 we were given 4 year recall rights with the stipulation that if you were an inactive employee for more than 60 days you would lose your seniority based pay rate. In other words you could get called back but after 60 days only at the starting wage scale. Right now this aplies to furloughes from approximately 17 stations. How can an outfit that calls itself an union completely forget these folks.

West out stations, be aware of your awaiting fate.

Golden or anyone else spouting company propaganda.

Have you ever played poker?
High stakes corporate poker is exactly the game Parker and company are currently playing. You do not show your hand and you do not reveal your strategy until you sucker your opponent (Fleet Service) into going all in or folding. The idea is to make your opponent think your position is weak. When in reality you have a very strong hand. You will not realize how strong or how weak their hand is until it is too late. If they were not playing this "game" they would not be very good business men and would not have any reason to re-negotiate their own contracts and include their precious golden parachutes.

Do not fall for the trap. Our hand is very strong and we will win the pot.

good point joe,
Might I add that Doug reports to the BOD and investors and they are the ones that say if they pull the plug

or not . it's there money and interest at stake.. For as much as all you guys think that Doug is the great airline tycoon

got news for you .. he's just a pawn in the investors game of life.

then why call the IAM back to the table. like a previous poster said we are under contract till 09. what's the big deal

he personally doesn't care about the west . It's obvious in the way he ran HP so why would HE give a s*it if they have a T/A or not

unless there was something in it for HIM... or PRESSURE from the INVESTOR..

Parker gets a big bonus/raise/buyout thingy with a merger and since he got a new contract that he just signed this past few months, he's also got his new change in control 'chutes'. Plus, Parker been the number one cheerleader for mergers and the AP Business newswire reported last saturday that USAIRWAYS may acquire United or Continental once bids are placed.

Mergers will happen by force. Let the stews or mechanics go first, we can wait till a better contract. Problem with a transition is that there will most likely be many layoffs right off the bat just with the East/West merging, like in any merged senioirty list. Then throw in another merger if we screw ourselves by giving in without protections and you might see a net loss of thousands of fleet jobs.

Let's go with Continental. That way Canaleave can spend eternity with his United cronies. And hopefully take all of his negotiating teams with him. They haven't done US a bit of good.

to all the citys coming up this week on the nominations.. good luck and show your solidarity...

the New Direction needs to finish the week with a sweeep...........

Well guys,
It's been an exciting three weeks, Cheap Suites and crew have finally found out
what the membership thinks of them. Some will be collateral damage others will be
the main and secondary targets. The finishing touches on The New Direction Team victory,
will come in June.

Now for the business at hand, the local paper here is reporting merger mania could
happen at early as this week. This will be the turning point for US as to whether they
grow or stay small. The COC could be the ace up our sleave.
I have friends in mgmt, telling me they're hearing Parker and Kirby are quite
disturbed at big Al and the labor relations dept. I'ts been three years and Al has yet to put
any contracts together. This next round of negotiations could be decisive as to
whether he remains employed.

Remember solidarity is killing them, they've never seen the fleet so solid and hell bent
on getting a fair contract. In the past it's been one lame contract and two concessionary
contracts. SO TAKE HEED CHEAP SUITES, AL and the rest of the negotiating team,
oh I forgot brickhead, fleet service will not mortgage your next merger and golden
chutes with our wallets. The breakrooms are alive and well and the work is being done.
