Does anyone know if Old what's his name.. BOSS something or other...DID he get his 4 lodge nominations yet
I know he was sitting on 3 .
Boss Canale got alot of small locals at United: IAH, DFW, OKC, JAX, DTW, CLE, STL, ABQ, ATL, SJU, IND. His medium grab is BOS, SEA, one HNL. He did land a couple "A" stations in SFO, IAD, LAX. This represents a United ramp total of 2400. The res and customer service numbers aren't included but lower.
OTOH, The NEW DIRECTION secured the biggest United Locals, including the "Twin Towers" of DEN and ORD. In fact ORD alone has over 2500 rampers which represents more than ALL of Canale's grabs put together. Throw in DEN, HNL, JFK, MCO and even a few small United stations that understood and wanted to be part of the winning team and voted the NEW DIRECTIONS TEAM [oma, SLC, MSP, MKE, SAT]. United workers voted unanimously by over 2-1 for the NEW DIRECTIONS team, probably closer to 3-1. But it gets better than this.
At US AIRWAYS, Boss Canale has done such a dreadful job that the NEW DIRECTIONS TEAM accomplished the "Grand Slam" by dominating each hub in a senseless 'beating'. Throw in PIT as the 5th biggest local and Canale lost to the US AIRWAYS Pentagon. In fact, both PIT and CLT gave Canale a great valentine's gift. Throw in FLL, PBI, MIA, and with two weeks to go, and the only US AIRWAYS locals who are 'out of focus' and have isolated themselves are BOS and JAX. In fact, if you add up all of Boss Canale's stations, most of them don't have any USAIRWAYS workers and he's only nabbed the support of 400 US AIRWAYS workers, while the NEW DIRECTIONS TEAM has nabbed 6,000 and picking up steam. About 15-1 on US AIRWAYS property...a senseless beating indeed.
Overall, we have Boss Canale's Keystone Cops picking up about 4,500 members as represented by the Local Nominations. And the NEW DIRECTION TEAM picking up close to 17,000 members. We are shooting for 20,000 or an 80% nomination rate, which was ahead of our original survey which showed 75%.
What does this all mean? Solidarity is alive and kicking for once in DL141 as US AIRWAYS and Unied members are tighter than 'two coats of paint'. We gave Boss Canale the chance to retire and collect his 'IAM watch' but his arrogance prevailed in his endless attempt to secure more sweetheart deals for both US AIRWAYS and United. Now he will personally be responsible for taking down everyone on his ticket [some of which have already contacted us about secretely bailing on Canale to save their AGC job, but we arent' making deals.....our policy is 'scorched earth']. We will enjoy coming for Boss Canale.........soon enough.
