M&R Vote

Were I in your position Id be a yes voter Josh
Really? I thought you said you lived in NY. You would have voted to make anywhere between $20,000 and $50,000 a year less than guys doing the same work 100 yards away?

Did live in NY, currently in BOS so I'd still be part of Local 562 but have travel to NYC regularly.

How is this specific to NY? Is your point that line mechanics in NY are underpaid compared to line mechanics elsewhere or that others at jetBlue, Delta, etc make significantly more? I understand your interest and intention to challenge the need for abrogation being that AA mechanics are near the bottom of the industry (thanks to the worthless TWU) but I wouldn't want to risk having the term sheet imposed were LBFO a better contract.

Josh

The no voters need to get over it just as the yes voters did last time. That's why we have a vote, majority rules, that's the union way. Truth is if you can do better elsewhere why are you still at AA. just saying I wasn't happy last time and not pleased this time but believe its better than what would have been imposed. The judges ruling proves that he would have abrogated our contract and if the pilots don't come to an agreement before 9/4/12, I think you will see it happen.

What part of "Negotiations will continue upon abrogation" did members like you not understand?

What part of "UCC really need a consensual agreement" to approve a viable plan of regorganization did you not understand?

I can understand the idea of "Get over it", because we are screwed for years now, but I cannot understand the continued fear and the belief that we would have forever been screwed by the aborgation. That is simply false. Negotiations will continue is better than 6 years of this "get over" it I am not happy agreement.

We gave up our chance at negotiations will continue to save 700 heads that will be cut anyway. That is pretty damn hard to get over if you ask me.

What do you mean by "get over it"? You mean laydown and take it? We have no choice but to accept it but we can sure try and make changes so that we get a better contract next time.
You can thank us later.

You sound exactly like Ream.

But it's all about seniority, and if your a senior amt it's like an anchor around your neck.

To all you undesided AA Mechs. I am a AMFA member, I am living the dream these AMFA supporters are selling you. Let me tell you It's NO dream , more like a nightmare. The better contract in the end will be one were you have nothing but a small increase in pay every year and nothing else, your medical you will be paying for your retirement will be a 401k and a labor union with no power to do anything!!!! I say no power because to get that power you need a unified membership, read what these guys are spewing, negotiate with the company the good guys when all the dumb mechs are gone. But let me tell you these guys will not stop attacking you fellow members when AMFA is there it will get worse.

You are describing what we have now with the TWU.

If you are not happy with AMFA, then why keep whining on this board? The law allows you to change from AMFA if that is not what you and you coworkers want to select another representation. Are you making the claim that you went to AMFA but have no choice in who represents you? Because that is not what the law says.

Something here, doesn't add up. I personally think you could be another Industrial Union Liar.

Please give us all more details about who you are, where you work, and what your problems are.

I'm done telling you haters who I am. I also go by amtcraig. If I could snap my fingers and change I would. But it takes more then that.

It seems that "Brain" doesn't like all the choice that AMFA allows. Maybe he is the type that needs an un-elected and un-accountable "leader" instead of one that he can at least have a voice in electing.

Other than that, his description sounds like the TWU: Let me tell you It's NO dream , more like a nightmare. The better contract in the end will be one were you have nothing but a small increase in pay every year and nothing else, your medical you will be paying for your retirement will be a 401k and a labor union with no power to do anything!!!!

So you are a shop steward for AMFA, and you get to slam them about how they are as a union? Under the TWU, you would be threatened and then eventually put in bad standing for the things you say. Nice to see that your union allows for the freedom of speech while in the role of shop steward.

Telling us who you are?
That would be real easy if that is your desire.

If you really want to convince me that there is a serious flaw with AMFA, then take ownership of your complaint.
PM me your real name, allow us to verify your history and the "other side" of your story.

There are always two sides to every story. Your side appears to be sincere execpt for the point that you refuse to allow any vertification of your complaint and instead expect us all to believe someone that will not allow that.

You want us to believe all you AMFA bashers, then take real ownership of your complaints and let us verify.
That is the way most men handle a stern warning to another man about any type of danger.

He already did on another thread. He's on this list, and the process of elimination will get you there. 😉

FYI, AMFA has Shop Representatives, not stewards.
