Swan,

Agreed. We both have widebodies and believe the retirements on both sides will help the situation. 10 years ago, no way.

Pilot Voters,

Fellow pilots, have you ever looked at the election statistics for recent USAPA elections? There is a powerful lesson in those statistics if you take the time to look at them.

In the last several elections the voter turnout
has been very low.  The lower the voter turnout, the easier it becomes for a small cohesive group to win the election.  With the typically low turnout at unscheduled elections such as this one, it is very likely that your union's leadership and committee structure will be handed to the West just as we begin the seniority integration process.

PHX is a large, cohesive group! The recall ballot currently underway has opened the door to have a West pilot elected as USAPA's President.

How is this possible?  Keep reading:

In the last CLT domicile election, Ron Nelson was elected by 353 votes or 37.28%, Courtney Borman was elected by 321 votes or 33.9% and Chairman Bob Frear was elected on the first ballot with 380 votes.

These votes are from CLT, the largest domicile with
1384 Members in good standing... only 48.3% of the eligible members bothered to vote.

A repeat of that poor turnout virtually guarantees that the West pilots will be negotiating the terms of our seniority integration with APA! Think about that for a moment. If this recall effort succeeds, we will have to elect a new president. A decision not to vote in that election is a vote for a West President!

The Phoenix pilots have historically been well-organized. They have had
very high voter turnout, and have usually cast their 1000+ votes for a
single candidate.

The East pilots have historically had much lower voter turnout and several candidates on the ballot.  Thus each candidate captures only a fraction of the few votes that are cast.

We could very easily end up with Eric Ferguson, founder of the Army of Leonidas, as the next USAPA President. The President appoints and removes committee members.  Who do you think is going to be negotiating your seniority when that happens?

Answer: it will be the West pilots negotiating for the Nicolau Award, and there won't be a thing you can do to stop it at that point.

What a shame it would be to say goodbye to everything we've fought for these past several years. All because some of us didn't bother to vote when it really mattered!

Vote NO RECALL and NO Roll Call

Vote like your seniority depends on it.
Because IT DOES!

Joe Votes No
So should you!

Chill out, RR.

There's not a chance Ferguson would become President because the election would be re-run. Remember this after West pilots won Appeal Board seats?

2012 Appeal Board Rerun Election Candidates

The Ballot Certification Committee thanks all members who participated in the Appeal Board Rerun nomination process. Below is the list of candidates who have returned the required paperwork to run for office. Balloting will take place by Internet and telephone from May 31, 2012 through June 21, 2012. If necessary, a runoff election is anticipated to be conducted from June 28, 2012 through July 19, 2012. Detailed instructions will be posted on the USAPA Web site, emailed and mailed to all members. Members are reminded that if you have your VIN/PIN from previous elections (not nominations), you may access the system immediately when the election opens. If you do not have your VIN/PIN, please wait for the Voting Notice and Instructions to arrive in the mail.

So will you actively campaign for a new candidate who then becomes the least of all evil? The least of your fears? The least of your trepidations?

Will you use the funds you've gathered to elect such a candidate? Will you put as much energy into a forceful turnout.

It usually seems such turnouts are larger when we're shooting elephants rather than pissants.

Look at all this craziness. Is it any wonder you idiots are the bottom of the industry? Hummel and Bradford are getting tossed out. I'm sick of Hummels "back room" deals and ignoring the BPR. Who made him a Dictator?

Votes cast for recall. Bring back Cleary.

Agreed. Would like to know how you guys feel about merging with U pilots with a Nicolau list. Take a good look at it. And a 3 way with East and West and AA.

That's funny Snap.. you can't fence what you don't have. In case you forgot, the west doesn't have any wide bodies.

In case you forgot, there was a merger years ago and we're one airline now after POR. I sure as he'll have wide body aircraft at my airline.
