NO! not right, HOLDER is the CAPT!
Well, I can't argue with that for the past few months.

I think not for long.

actually, there were two lists, and the furloughs went out of seniority order.

Umm...Just curious here, as to how anyone could, with even the feeblest attempt at logic, paste "two lists", yet simultaneously "out of seniority order" together, whenever addressing furloughs off either one of said "two" lists? Is this offered purely in reference to the half dozen or so east pilots that returned from PHX?..Or entirely intended as just another "spartan" joke?

A neutral, highly regarded professional arbiter didn't agree with your opinion.
Nicolau had help from alpa pilots that were involved in a merger with USAirways pilot at that time.

"Us Airways, America West Seniority Dispute rough draft timeline

2005-2006  US Airways, United in merger talks

2005 Us Airways, America West merge

May 2007  Arbitrator George Nicolau’ pilot seniority award was issued.  The award was written with the assistance of two ALPA pilot neutrals, Steve Gillen United Airlines Pilot and  Jim Brucia former Continental pilot now United Airlines Pilot.

2007 Us Airways pilots ask ALPA to review the award.  ALPA president  John Prater, former Continental pilot now United Airlines pilot, assigns ALPA vice president Paul Rice, United pilot,  to review the award.

December 2007,  Paul Rice, United pilot, delivers seniority list to Us Airways.

2007  A group of Us Airways pilots start a drive to start their own in house pilot union.

March 2008  ALPA puts the Us Airways ALPA Mec in trusteeship.

April  2008  In a National Mediation Board sanctioned election, Us Airways pilots oust ALPA and vote in USAPA as their official pilot representative.

May 2008  United calls off merger talk with Us Airways.

June 24, 2008   United Airlines starts furloughing pilots that will eventually lead to 1450 pilots at United on the street.  Had a merger occurred using the Nicolau award derived with the assistance of United pilot neutrals,  Us Airways pilots would have suffered the brunt of the furloughs and few United pilots would have been affected.

2008  America West pilots sue for DFR against USAPA.

2009  2010 US Airways and United restart merger talks.

April 2010  United Us Airways end merger talks.

June 2010  The 9th circuit court rules in USAPA’s favor."

The West are the bad guys because they won't give us a do over?

Give me a break.

USAPA tried to steal their jobs and lost.
Did I say they were the bad guys? Don't put words in my mouth.

I think a little pragmatism would have gone a long way. Nic or nothing may pay off, but it will take a long time.

Be of better cheer, good "spartan". It's not entirely impossible that, once (if ever) learning the procedural processes required for the production of actual thought, that you might then be able to sustain it for even extended periods of time...Who knows?...Just hoping here. 😉

At the end of 2008 the company hd to furlough.

175 West pilots were furlough out of seniority order to accommodate the SCAB union.

also, 143 West captains were downgraded, again, out of seniority order, to accommodate the SCAB union.

The West pilots who returned east avoided unemployment by recalling east? Go FK yourself SCAB!
They were furlouhed by seniortiy order, their seniority list as per the TA. Upheld by arbitrator Bloch, I believe,

The "scab bombs" are really flying. You must be upset., it's your tell.

The West has prevented USAPA from stealing their jobs with DOH/LOS.

Putting a Reverse F/O senior to a Captain on the same airplane is stealing that Captain's job, especially if one of the two has to be furloughed.

No surprise you don't understand that.
Be honest Trader. With the state of this pilot group, don't you think the west could have gotten the Nic with minor concessions from ALPA?

Don't get you hopes up Pi. I'd guess that even challenges to any slightly-serious poker would just be petulantly derided. 😉

You and your SCAB union are such a bunch of whining malcontents!

nic did not put a guy hired 15 years later ahead of you, nor did the West pilots put a guy hired 15 years later ahead of you.

YOU put a guy hired at AWA 15 years later ahead of you by holding on at a completely failing airline. I can't say I blame you, I would have rode that thing into the ground also, but to come out and whine about it, then actually SCAB jobs over...STFU already!
Maybe you expect comfort women for your ability to be in new hire pilot ground school for america west airlines for frankly, being unhireable by a real airline.

One day this will be over and you will have no one else to blame for your miserable existense but your own poor choices.

REALLY? Your G/A command will go unheaded due to fuel starvation! It really must be going SOUTH, why would USAPA post those numbers if only to infuriate the membership to rally membership for lack of progress, very predictable!

No, I think anything less than a LOS based seniority list would have been rejected.

What concessions would have made the NIC acceptable to you?
