I always get a kick out of this one.  Pilots bragging that they played the CLT reps....

So basically the braggarts are admitting that they conspired with management to low ball the BPR in order to cap the right knee of the CLT reps, leaving the CLT reps with a very limited chance to "get a manufactured win" via retro pay.  And then to ensure the CLT reps would consider themselves lucky to get retropay, rather than push harder, the braggarts stirred up a recall to cap the left knee for added insurance against any meaningful bargaining.... because the braggarts had already made their deal with management... and played the CLT reps to get it.    Yeah, they played it rather skillfully.

Meanwhile the APA gets 13.5% of the New American (meaning they get 13.5% of the value USAir added to the new American), they got Parker to pay the taxes on that equity, they got $500M pumped in their retirement (about $500K each), and we received $8K, pay our own taxes, and.... wait for it.... we got the "manufactured win" of the braggarts who played the CLT reps.

Yeah,  Played.

You saw retro pay hit your bank account.  Doesn't that mean you won't ever post here again?

P.S.  I like my new pay rates, my $8 minus taxes, and my retro pay...

I heartily give full credit to the players who played CLT, but mostly to the management negotiators who won the players over to the notion that they were playing CLT, rather than being played themselves.
I said I would stop posting here with the "retro" check. The November pay was paid normally. Come on, you can put up with me for another two weeks! I was going to debate you on the "rest" but your total disconnect on why the APA guys got what they got makes such discussion with you "not worthy." And yes indeed, the CLT Reps were "played." Their path was "nothing." Proudest moment of my brief 8 year career in union politics, seeing those simpletons out maneuvered. You can all pontificate as to what "could have been." The results speak for themselves, our first significant pay raise since 911. RR

That's one thing I will never deny you have pride in.

You seem to have lapsed in imagination.....  There is no end of excuses or justifications you could have offered as to why we could never even negotiate for more than an $8K signing bonus despite the knowledge Parker repeatedly assured us the new company would make $1B profits a year.

But don't feel the need to offer a justification now.  You could just pretend its beneath you, and besides you won.  You were much smarter than your opponents and you out maneuvered them.  You are proud that CLT was crippled to negotiate for more than an $8K signing bonus.  The maneuver was so successful no one could even mount a whimper to ask Parker to pay the taxes on $8K.

Thank goodness the CLT reps actually preferred negotiating rather than an enticing legacy of being regarded as the "players" who outmaneuvered their opponents, or else the CLT reps could have been tempted to lowball the lowballs, and who knows where that would have ended.

The "players" are indeed genius, and the members who thought fellow pilots were above conspiring with management to box out negotiations... oh, such simpletons.

I suppose the end of the matter is some believe it better to be esteemed a player, albeit via a lowball, than to be esteemed a simpleton who mistakenly believes in silly notions and fairy tales about bargaining for collective salary rather than glory.

I suppose pride induces folks to write their own histories.

Wonder what he can do if he stayed sober?
As I mentioned before....beer is a miracle drug!

East against East. Big surprise. Hey morons. The APA got you your meager little wage increase. It's was 100% due to their horsepower alone. USTUPID, hillbilly scabs, rust-scabs...whatever. All meaningless. You had nothing mother Parker wanted. Be thankful for your taxed 8 k. It's infinitely more than USCABA was ever going to get you without the APA.

You guys are a pathetic joke. Arguing over whom among you is the smartest? HHHHHAAAAAAA!!!! You paid over a billion dollars on a goose chase, and have fallen on your USCABA faces more times than I can count. You're all "winners" in that you're all the dumbest mother fkers I've ever met.

Yikes. After I went to bed I was "Dr Philled!!!"

Forgive me for a little pride, just a tiny bit of satisfaction in sharing in the success of a process that over 75% of our pilots found worthy.  The CLT reps were part of the problem, not the solution.  I note the current reps continue that legacy.

As to "writing history" I have yet to see a single actual rebuttal to my account of what happened with the CLT reps and the MOU; much less any comments at all about my contention there is danger in the recall and in both the CBL proposed changes.  Just telling me "I am full of it" does not count.

Or just continue to call me a pompous ass and be on with it. I can take the truth 🙂

That’s ok Efron, the Epilog to your Quinn Martin production is already written.  And note there is no Nic in the credit roll.  RR

Forgive you?  No need.  We accepted the company offer that was accepted by the players.  I commend you for telling us how you conspired to settle negotiations quickly, while mere simpletons struggled to divide $1B on their abacus.  If you still insist on some personal penance you could offer to pay my taxes on $8K.

A couple simple questions for simpletons.....  What will the players play with now that only SLI is left to negotiate?  Have the players already set the play?

You can take solace that Hummel might be a player too, but for his own sake he might wish to display his brilliance by refraining from outing the simpletons just yet. 😀

So, we're  a while past the recall vote by the BPR and I still haven't seen anything from my reps about their actions. They certainly aren't operating by my wishes. Is James Ray keeping them from sending out an update? Why vote to recall Bradford?

This just seems like more of the same old retribution politics to me and every single one of my friends I've talked to.
