"The NMB has asked that USAPA and US Airways devise a process under which there will be negotiations and tentative agreement on all other sections of the contract prior to discussing seniority. They have requested that USAPA and the Company complete this process no later than November 21.[sup] [/sup]Once this is done, the mediator will instruct the parties to each submit a plan for resolution of non-seniority issues. Thereafter, the NMB will meet with the parties to consider the scheduling of negotiations."
Looks like "Team Tempe's" delay game is about to come to a close. The company's refusal to negotiate the other 29 sections of a JCBA, without first coming to an agreement on section 22, is being brought to an end by the NMB.
Pilot seniority, for the most part, always has been a no cost item, it matters not to them who sits in what seat, it's what the cost is of putting a butt in a seat that matters to management.
Now that the NMB gets it, management will have to also.
