Does American still have the anti-nepotism policy, and if so, which one do you think will be looking for work if the merger happens?

Sure, they are going to fire all the managers sons. I would imagine there will be even more such hiring as time progresses. It is a good thing for a son or daughter to follow on. Some day, when you grow up and have children, you will see the fallacy of your thinking.
 
This one I will have to watch for a change.
I would imagine this would be the meeting where their leader tells them again, "this is for you to decide" like before. And the three way will be mentioned, again. The same group here on the western side will continue to ignore him.
Marty Harper is happy for that, it allows him to fleece them time and again. That is the constant.

I saw the rate they agreed to fly your 330 out of bankruptcy protection. It is the same shameful salary the eastern group gets. At least they have the excuse of a bankruptcy judge forcing it on them. Not the case in Arizona. They agreed willingly. Not they will ever operate them.
 
Yes, using our fight to keep us on LOA 93 and save half a billion dollars sure does favor us. If THAT is you strategy then I think you are doomed.

Collusion does not have to be premeditated or by virtue of a conspiracy.

Lets see, usapa has the goal of reneging on the Nic, or of forcing separate ops, both of which are a failure of its DFR.

The company benefits from usapa's actions by way of labor cost savings, and allows it to continue.


As Silver said, the West would have a hard time prosecuting a suit against LCC for merely accepting usapa's proposal...but that ain't the suit the West will persue. The West should make the case that LCC was complicite with usapa in stripping the West of its right to section 6 negotiations. Damages start tallying from the day J Mac's letter requesting such was denied by Bradford.

On tues, the CEO is doing a crewnews in PHX, I am guessing he will inform the West that the company is likely to accept usapa's seniority proposal in light of the DJ. That the West problem is with usapa and we will have to take it up them, and sue usapa once a ratified contract is in place, or take the alternative route of conceding to the scabs demands. An olive branch will be offered in the form of allowing some sort of West representation crafting C&Rs.

The West declines, strings the company along on our second worst pay, and totally disrupts the airline on the Thanksgiving holiday. When the CEO complains, we tell him he has to take it up with usapa and it is his turn to sue the union.

You need to speak with your friend Chip Munn about forcasting such work issues on a public forum. Remember, as a good USAPA member, you have an obligation to honor the legal injunction.

The general premise of your post is correct. The West's patience has worn very thin. Since the scabs are too stupid to see a warning like "PAIN of unquestionably ripe" or "on dangerous ground", the West is pretty much done.

Go to the negotiating table, pass your scab plan, get the company to accept it, and we will go from there.

Now THAT, grasshopper, is a plan! Run along and take back your Thanksgiving threats and you will be fine.

Damges start the day a CBA is signed, if it meets the west's fears. What are those fears? Fear they will be on the street or fear they will not get the quickie upgrade? Not to worry as there will be a merger long before a CBA is even approached. An arbitrator will decide which or how many lists he will use and it will all be over. US Airways and USAPA will both be history. Like it or not, that's the way it will probably work out. It's just my opinion, but it should be everyone else's as well!

Doug should have been smart enough to know that we already DID decide back when we voted in the SLI method of DOH with C&R. He probably was smart enough but of course used the dispute to keep us all on bankrupt wages.

Now that he has the courts repeatedly asserting the authority of USAPA to bargain as they see fit, Doug would not be helping things to move forward during Crew News by repeating the old paradox "this is for you to decide", since the courts have made it clear USAPA will bargain and Doug must agree before "we can decide" via ratification. But I do wonder what Doug will do to help fan the division.

As did you. There is an conflict of interest in upper management that favors the east.

That confict was here prior to the latest newhire class, and is the tie that will not excuse the company for capitulating to usapa's demands of amending the TA.


The only "favoritism" as you choose to characterize it, on the part of the company toward the East operation, is all about where the money is made at USAirways, if "Fortress Phoenix" were where the golden egg laying goose lived, it would not have been put on the back burner. Try not to take it so personally, it's just business and good luck trying to make a case against the company for making the decisions they have made to reach profitability, that's what they are required to do by the owners.

The airline industry doesn't revolve around PHX which is at best a niche market . The fact of the matter is that had AWE stayed on it's own, Southwest would have done the same thing and probably worse to you by now. If you choose to stay in the "Minor League" don't complain about you stagnation going forward.

Well...since previously established west fashion standards have included blue jeans, sports shoes, baseball caps, Hawaiian tourist shirts, a yellow rain poncho..and of course "Integrity Matters" and various other, tres elegante T-shirts: What you're now suggesting would represent a drastic wardrobe enhancement of high order indeed. 😉
