I also depended on the success of this airline--to provide RELIABLE transportation to get me where I need to be. They failed in that responsibility, and they will fail in any other endeavor which overreaches their capability. They can't even manage the route system they have now, so why should they be granted one with challenges the likes of which neither company has ever faced? It's a nightmare waiting to happen.

Look, I feel bad for all the people who work for US Airways right now because the company is being managed into the ground. As individuals, we happen to be opposed to the granting of any new routes for this company, since they can't handle what they already have.

I would love to see the day when they finally get things together, and I can come back and see all the folks I miss and resume flying US, but I don't see it happening any time soon.

So while I respect your opinion, although I disagree with it, I think you need to respect mine and others who disagree with you.
 
Are you kidding me?

"Let us know up front blah blah"- do you really think that cabin crew didn't inform the flight deck that they were about to embark on a ten hour flight without food? The company (America West's wonderful management) felt it was OK to send it in that condition rather than prepare another set of catering. As usual, they waited until the crew went illegal to re-crew it and no one bothered to tell catering not to throw out the meals on the returned flight. Same with the blocked toilet- since the merger this type of thing has been deemed acceptable. You are correct that there is no excuse for any of the above. Attempting to blame it on crews is pretty lame, but maybe in the low cost world crews make catering and plumbing decisions and that's the viewpoint you are coming from.

It's a little more complicated than getting on the horn in Vegas for a gizmo bag of tit-bits or whatever for the haul to Tuscon.

The company made the decision to send these flights and many others in these conditions. The international schedule leaves late or cancels every night due to piss-poor aircraft and crew planning, and widebody aircraft (those are the big ones with two aisles) are sent across the ocean with catering fit for an RJ.

You're a flamebaiter so I won't entertain your comments too much, but our transatlantic operation never looked like this pre-merger. In fact, only a few short years ago we won best cabin staff, best economy class, and best business class for North America. I can assure you seven hour delays, cardboard boxes and human sh*t did not win those awards. I can only hope you are joking or being ironic when you refer to America West being dragged down.

Why don't you QUIT ALREADY since all you do is moan about your new co-workers who vastly outnumber you. You clearly have a very lonely and difficult career ahead of you.

How would you know anything about trans alantic ops, you RJ flight attendant!!! You see out here we don't depart with stuffed toilets, it gets fixed or we don't move!! If we are supposed to have food on a flight they lets us know and we call catering to get it handled!! Now clown all you like about our F/A's but at least they do their jobs and get us involved when they have trouble.

No I complain about whining pilots and clueless f/a who do NOTING but bring the operation down and moan about how much they hate the company. If you don't like things RJ girl QUIT!!!! Skybus is hiring go work there atleast the toilets are new...
 
Yeah, right. America's Worst does not hold up flights because of catering issues--not sufficient catering, so sorry. The old US was very different. I can't tell you how many SAN-PHL flights I was on where they would go out an buy FC food because of catering screwups and hold up the plane. America's Worst would never do that. America's Worst could care less that 1 tonic water can is loaded on a 5pm 5 hour flight with 26 FC seats filled.

That's BS lady!!! If it's supposed to be there and we are told most of us won't push. I have refused to move before because the crew meals weren't loaded and there are many many more like me!!!

I do the San Phl run and if there is a broken toilet we ain't moving until it's fixed, PERIOD!!!! If food is supposed to be on board we wait, until it gets there, not doing 5hrs with no food. Now with regards to that BOB crap, I never understood why they never put on enough for everybody. I guess some bean counter figured that everyone won't eat thus take only a few. Stupid move but you know what, they did the same thing at UAL as well!!! Save money by starving a few. Dumb move if you ask me...

Interesting AWA320...I never realized that crew meals were required in order to move the passengers to their destinations...but; you've no problem with holding passengers up for your own convenience?..and that benefits "the operation"....ummm....how? :blink:

Must be nice to be able to sit at the gate for 5 hours waiting for food to be loaded and not have to worry about timing out on the other side. 🙄

...sounds pretty petty to me but whatever, I am just one person ( among 36k ) who have signed the pro-china petition already. I guess you might get a few hundred of the b****ers on here who will be with ya' but little else....par for the course.

Man you need to get down off the cross. US Airways may have had some problems prior to DougWieser and his merry band of useless know-nothings, but never like we have now. HP is a regional airline that knows absoluty NOTHING about transcontinental or first class service. Recently, LGW had a MTC in CLT. There were nine special forces soldiers on their way to the middle east. Due to the MTC delay, they were going to misconnect in LGW. Since HP's computer system knows nothing about international service, those Special Forces soldiers had to take out their lap top computers, put them on the ticket counter, and they had to find their own connections to their final destination. I WAS ABSOULUTY EMBARRASED beyond words! I have worked in service recovery for more than 7 years, I could get anyone anywhere in the world at one point....but not now... thanks to the decisions made by the leadership of this airline..and you think that they deserve more international serivice?!?!?!? They can't even reroute an international misconnecting passenger without outside help and your want to give them another international route?!?! You, sir, need to rethink slamming people on this board who, believe it or not, may know more about the opperational problems within this company than you.

WHAT? Take a poll at any major US Airways station, the majority will tell you that US AIRWAYS CAN'T HANDLE WHAT THEY HAVE NOW! They are offering $5000.00 sign on bonuses for expess pilots....NO ONE IS TAKING THE BAIT because they know the management of this company has run it straight into the sewer! Agents at our gateway cities are quiting everyday because of the problems brought on by the sandbox. I used to wave the banner for this company too but NEVER AGAIN. JOB SECURITY?!?!? You think that this is what is going to put job security in jepordy??? Look around you , Jepordy is in play right now.

As much as we complain about the operation nothing changes. If you complain on here about issues you get bogus responses and told to stop whining or quit. This company is indeed ran worse than when we were in BK. That my friends is not an opinion but fact. This company attempting to fly to China is NOT job security but "chinease torture". We cannot do our jobs due to the management team we inherited with this merger. It's a joke and wish they would have found a new name for this "combined" 🙄 company or just called it America West. This is the worst I have ever seen it. EVER. Oh btw....EMBFA is a mainline flight attendant on the east. Just joining us? 🙄 For those of you that make excuses for this company and don't agree with our complaints I have to say WAKE UP! ! ! ! I thought that our old management were driving us off a cliff intentionally but this group overshadows by far. I sat on Sunday night in PHL for catering 2hours NEVER to show up and waited for a fuel truck to fuel us only to have NO FUEL in the fuel truck. What the hell kind of circus IS this? Tempe has NO IDEA on how or where to begin. This so called "consultant group" here to help fix the operation has a big job ahead of them.

I have had Captains refuse to go because of crew meals I just make an announcement that the captain refuses to go without his/her crew meal.Bad karma on the crew
 
My statement was meant to point this fact out, openly declare this about mine, and request signatures to show just how many people are, in fact, against the service. Surely, it's not scientific, but I will be sending a letter to the DOT with everyone's name on the bottom of it, along with a spreadsheet with all of the data.
