TATTLETALE

Four pages of insults and threats but very few people doubting the accuracy of her statement. That alone says a lot.

Folks,

A friendly reminder--please refrain from the name calling and the profanity, even with letters deleted--we all know what you're trying to say, and it's not appropriate for this board.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, it's just HOW you say it counts around here.....

As far as posting personal information, whether or not it is posted on another board, we don't permit it on here. While a link to the original post may be okay, the blatant posting of the phone numbers etc. will not be permitted on these boards.

Now everyone play nice, and don't throw sand in anyone's eyes.....

Back to the regularly scheduled thread.

Subject: Out of Base Reserves Flying Offline......
Date: Tue, 4 Dec 2007 20:22:08 -0500

Dear Mike, John and Omar,

I am writing this note to you, to make you aware of the fact that I have first hand knowledge of reserves being out of base and flying offline (another airline) to avoid being caught on our own company's manifest. This is unacceptable under the best of circumstances. One openly admitted to me, without prompting, that she HAD to get to the PHL base because she had been on duty 24 hours before and that her "number" was coming up!!! I could not believe what I was hearing but bit my tongue. Things can go awry within one hour in PHL; when there is ATC or bad weather!

Furthermore, they are flying standby on SWA and taking seats that indeed they are entitled to......on a first come, first s erved basis. Seniority is not the issue. They will arrive at the airport 3 hours in advance just to stake their claim. But...it is a direct violation of the contract and company work and conduct rules when they are out of base.... wrongly presuming that there are seats for them or assuming that their "number" is not coming up for a day or so. They are paid to be in base when they are "on duty". Needless to say, they are not thinking wisely.

Do you have any idea the position that this puts on any blockholder, senior or otherwise; that have been commuting for years from Florida, California and otherwise? Again, this would cause some serious issues if unresolved.

I trust that you will do your very best to resolve this issue before the winter is upon us.

Thank you for your consideration.

With Very Best Wishes,

Cyndy Kawakami Atkins
F/A#(edited), PHL
Let us all not forget...the union is not here to get a member/members in trouble period. If someone does run into or fly with CYNDY please ask her these questions.
1. Has she ever called in sick when not sick

2. Does she always do the liquor money correctly

3 Better yet turn it all in.

4. Does she always follow proceedure!

5. Is she always in the correct uniform

6. Has she always told the truth to her supervisor

7. Has she ever lied about a no commute from fl.

8. Has she ever taken a water bottle, soda , food, mini bottle off the plane!

I could go on and on. What an IDIOT. I suggest anyone flying with her to make sure she does EVERYTHING the RIGHT WAY!!! And anyone who runs into her, to a LITTLE chat with CYNDY.

Right, wrong or indifferent to her statement there has always been an unwritten rule that you don't tell on a fellow coworker. We are family, yes a dysfunctional one but still family. I for one would have no interest in flying with this lady. When you can't respect or trust your fellow crew member it makes for bad CRM.

I am completely speechless!!!!! Who on earth would put their email address much less their phone number on a public website?? That maybe the first clue that something isn't right with this person. I mean speechless!!!!!

USstew23,
In all fairness to Miss Lark, this happens to a lot of folks with out their knowledge. For fun my sister googled my name to see that all my information was public because I had a google email address. I had to go in and have it removed. I was mortified to say the least. Larky probably didn't have a clue that her digits were public. She does now!

Ouch you have done everything from curse to threaten this woman. She should be pitied and may or may not have many friends.

I don't go out of my way to squeal on people know but we all know not every case is not clear cut. If any employee harmed her I would not flinch in turning you in.

She may be a screwball and should be pitied, but if these responses are any indication we are definitely no better than the people we put down daily on this board. 🙁

I predict Cindy will fly wonderful trips with great crews who treat her with kindness and courtesy. AAAAAAAHAHHAHAHA. Girlfriend should just leave now. I couldn't IMAGINE being in her shoes now. I have worked with her a few times side by side and cannot BELIEVE what I read. Just giving a look and NOT saying a word to her can do more. I sure hope nobody trades or picks up trips from her on the ETB or the underground ETB. What a loser.

 "Cyndi Kawakami Atkin's"-----I am a lowly reserve. You need to get a life. Try sitting on call twenty four hours a day for fifteen days at a time with no break for three years and our union knew that the company was breaking FAR. Now we are sitting six days twenty fours hours a day with no protected rest. I have been told that the pilots have protected rest. We go on call at midnight on the first day and go off on mid-night the sixth day. We have to give up our off days to ETB (excuse me it called ETR for Rsv's) to make a living. And most months we don't even make over seventy one hours. No matter how many days we have been on call we can be called for any trip even international with a show time of only 90 MINUTES and No Rest. You don't know what you are talking about when you put down a reserve flight attendant. I will be looking forward to flying international with you. You will know me by my RED BAGGY EYE's and crumpled uniform that has been stuffed in a suitcase for six or seven days. I can ride SWA as a NON REV....So I hope I see you in line one day. I really feel sorry for you because you must have had a lousy life and now you have made it even worse. "HAVE A NICE DAY!"

What’s amazing to me is that in letters like these…we like to blame the union and the company for the reserve system, forgetting we ACCEPTED the contract…we all had the chance to say NO, NO,NO… and it still PASSED! We must start accepting responsibility for OUR actions, we had an opportunity to tell the company and the union to shove the tentative where the sun does not shine and we FAILED.

Just my 2 cents
First of all, this is not all we ratified. Your memory is short if you don't remember that this new LTO system was sold a to all rsv's in junction with Pref. Bid. Sold to us as if they were tied together and that either both would be implemented or not. So, to say we "ACCEPTED" this, is very short sited. I have no problem accepting responsibility for my actions, does our UNION and COMPANY do the same? How about the actions of MF and all of our LEC's using your vote to allow AWA to join our profit sharing pool?

Don't ever call yourself a "lowly reserve". You're not. You're an integral part of this operation and deserve respect and sensitivity for the sacrifices that you and all reserves contribute.

The cold shoulder and shame therapy is what Cyndi needs and is going to get.

Let Karma do it's work.

EEK!

I just read her post from beginning to end. I wasn't for sure what all of the venom was about until I got to the end of her post.

Pretty self centered I'd say. Someday she's going to be in need of some kind of assistance from a co-worker and lo and behold her Karma is going to come back to her. Then we'll see another post full of righteous indignation over co workers failing to help her. She will remain forever clueless as to what she has done and IMO no amount of talking to her will do any good.

I would suggest that all of the fine F/A's who are not currently members of this little community join as soon as you can and add your voice to the debate.

BTW I checked the site and the storm is already brewing, so why not join and add a little fuel to the fire. What she said was insensitive at best. Chances are if she is that familiar with the contract she's found ways to work the system to her advantage often at the expense of others would be my assessment.
piney totally agree..and if you read between the lines of her post, she is really upset that someone is taking a sead away from her on WN. When they should have been in base the day before her. I'm taking it upon myself to inform eveyone I know about this!!!!!!!

I'm mad at her and I'm not even a flight attendent! In life there are certain things you just don't do. Informing everyone may make you feel better, however people like her are so self centered they won't grasp what they've done. Not now, Not ever!

Every Company, every workgroup has their very own personal Cyndy lurking about. I've observed the species in the wild and in my observation you can't change them. My guess is she has a persecution complex that will only be fed by the controversy and subsequent attention.
perhaps your right! I'm just sooo stinkin MAD. MY only hope is that John responed to her with ..I represent everyone in this base and will not turn in a fellow F/A!!

For those of you who keep insisting that we voted this contract in, just know that you are incorrect. Some on here voted no while others of us were not even on company property and therefore could not vote. Our f/as were also misinformed and misled by the union as far as the reserve LTO and PBS. And for those of you who think we should have paid our back dues so we could vote on such an important contract, think again! I was out 4.5 years. When I was furloughed, I had the mindset that I would never return to this place ever again. And trust me, I won't be here much longer so no need to retort the oh so cliched "if you're not happy then leave" crap. Yes, I know about that. I've done it before in other professions. I may be a reserve but I am not stupid. I have an education. I have goals, dreams and aspirations unlike the majority around this workplace. I've got to get away from this chaos and I will when I have another gig lined up.

Support Rotating Reserve!
