US Pilots Labor Discussion

You seem new, and also, you are not a pilot, with all due respect. However, for some reason you have a reason to either entertain yourself on this forum or you like chewing on tin foil and grating your head with a cheese grator. Nevertheless, the workings of inter union interaction and relationships would take a Ken Burns documentary over the span of a year before most outsiders could come close to grasping the nuances of labor. Even my wife, as smart and edumicated as she is, has a difficult time grasping how our CBA works.

Having said that, unfortunately this issue has to and must be resolved among the pilots. To many outside the world of aviation this seems cornney or trite, but in reality, well, you see it, it is what it is.

What's unfortunate is you have to see web boards and not talk face to face. It's like what the southwest pilot said over the radio with a stuck mike....you don't have to wonder why pilots get a bad reputation.....it just takes a very few to ruin it every day.

Good luck.

Thanks, I've been around since 2002, most of the time under another screen name. You're right I'm not a pilot but I've been just under 1200 US segments in the last ten years. I'm NOT qualified to address the fine points regarding your union and the dispute at hand.

However, from my unique perch I am qualified to observe as someone whose business it is to understand human nature, as essentially that's what selling is, getting inside the buyers head. The other piece is I don't like it when I company that I do or did a significant amount of business with treats those who take care of me like absolute Dog Poop, then yeah, I get pissed off! Truth is I'm probably as pissed off as you at US Airways. I'm just damned tired of seeing hard working people getting bludgeoned emotionally and financially. It annoys me even more to see a workgroup divided against itself when the real enemy is Doug Parker and Scott Kirby

So am I going to speak out? YBYSAIA (You bet your sweet ass I am). Like I said it's time for DP & SK to either pay up or close up! Now we find Glass has reared his large ugly head and if you don't want history to repeat yet again you'd all best study up on this man.

All I'm saying is look at the situation through the other sides prism and perhaps you'll still disagree but maybe you'll understand why they do what they do/say.

I agree that that is a worthy idea for any of us, and most of us probably have whether we'd admit it or not. I understand, or at least think I do, where the east is coming from. I firmly believe that at our core, there is very little difference between east and west pilots. If one were to take any measure, the percentages of pilots meeting that measure would be the same for both east and west.

In a science fiction way, if we would all time travel back and swap east for west, and fast forward back to today, we'd be in the same damn boat we are now. Not a thing would be different.

I for one doubt that EOA is actually who he claims to be.

USAPA's legendary cowardice is best exemplified in hiding behind another's name. I mean USAPA hides behind the moniker of a union when it is anything but. Why shouldn't it's ardent supporter?
Tell you what...I'll be at the next BPR meeting. Secondly, PM me here how to reach you and I'll tell you the next time I'll be in PHX and you can decide for yourself and in person. Don't worry, I don't bite. Hey, I'll even invite another west pilot I know and we can all get together and talk civilly about it. You can bring west friends...I'm would'nt be running for West BPR in any case.

Blankets for my blanket party optional.

Good luck.

Absolutely!

Now that is most definitely true. Bully for you, sir! My hat is off!

Jamie.

Yep I do agree, usapa needs to fight for doh only, nothing less.

Won't need it, what usapa is attempting to do is illegal in the usa.
Not what the courts say.

Good....oh, never mind, you won't need it.

Good post skynyrd

Whats a web board got to do with a DFR and what's wrong with this one?

OK, let's slow it down for the yungin' (he ain't right).

The DFR comes when a union charged with representing the interests of all the pilots decides to choose one side.

Now, separately, there is the the issue of USAPA choosing to limit the communication between the pilots and their reps (censorship) and indirectly between pilots by objecting to a union-sponsored webboard which is common among labor unions.

One post - two separate ideas. Are you OK to move on or should we back up and go over that again?

No, one idea ,You feel discrimination, get in line it's AMERICA, Or should we go over it again," YOUR CAUSE THE ONLY ONE, IT IS RIGHT AND JUST UNDER NIC HE SAID SO!" MM! BTW That is hilarious for a group that complains about spent money but wants a UNION webboard, LMFAO!

For "Mr. Hate Speech" this sounds very generous. Why not stop by the crew room in PHX? You'd be surprised at the welcome (but hopefully not by the bag stickers).

Yep!
