Again, another uninformed, incorrect, arrogant statement from an east pilot.

Just because AWA did not have a merger does not mean that the pilots have not been through a merger. One of our merger committee guys was also on the TWA merger committee. You guys fail to remember this AWA was not our first airline job unlike some of you that got hired at 23.
 
I love watching the US guys twist whenever its brought up that HP bought them out. The denial runs strong. US was dead, rigor mortis and starting to stink. HP saved that miserable airline from being beer cans. Should have let them rot. US destroyed enough airlines, should have let them die.

The funny thing? Nothing pisses them off more than profits. 😛

At the end of the day, it was a MERGER. It makes NO difference who bought whom if that was the case....you're still in the same mess, and neither side is in a position of strength from an acquisition perspective... it was a MERGER. So what sense does it make to argue about something which has no bearing on the situation.

From an outsider perspective (not that you care), it seems to me that NEITHER side is interested in settling this, and that one or both sides will be content to drive the place into the ground.....so enjoy saying "we showed them" from the unemployment line, cause that's where this thing is headed eventually......

If you would expend HALF the energy looking for a settlement and getting a good contract as you do FIGHTING with each other, this could have been done a long time ago. When will you realize it's NOT about East vs. West it is about YOU vs. TEMPE........
 
Notice how they used BK 2 to take all the pensions in order to reach the bottom dweller compensation the west brought to the entire industry like the plague it was? America West, setting the bar lower for ALL US airline employees 😀 😀 😀

They will never get this unless they go through this kind of screw job for themselves....they don't freakin care....it didn't happen to them.....all they want is what ALPA wanted...for us to go away. It pisses them off that they can't take advantage of us.

I mostly agree with your post nic. I would say "if" the lanyards are being used as a tool for a job action. If you remember the safety culture concerns have been going on for a while, ever since the company decided to use the training dept. as discipline. What I think has happened is that a group of pilots have decided to piggy back on that concern and use it for leverage. I say I think, because I really don't know. I have no idea where the lanyards came from. No one has ever offered me one. But as I said before, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if the company doesn't take safety as seriously as it should, WE HAVE TO! It's our duty. Not pretend safety. Not a slow down for safety, I don't agree with that, but real safety.

I really believe that the company believes that safety is job one, but unfortunately they have fallen in the trap of ignoring the people that in the pointy end of the jet, and making the assumption that everything we say or do has to do with a contract.


Safety is job one......as long as it doesn't make the jet late or cost money!

Frankly I haven't paid attention to either argument for or against too much. I have to wonder if the amount of clams involved will have more of an impact on the tide than any other facts.

I've got the cheese if you have the WHINE, Pops! Now how exactly would you know whether I not "been there"? Have you been digging into my personal information? Do I need to call corporate security and make a complaint? Maybe I'll call LIFELOCK tomorrow and get them to set me up with personal security..............

Oh wait.......that little fictional story has already been played out.
