US Pilots Labor Discussion

The Nic and LOA 93 are indirectly related.

Not accepting Nic means no S22 means no new contract means LOA93.

As for status quo, no matter who you elect, nothing will change.

They're all for DOH or modified NIc. Both are non-starters.

LOL!!!! I knew it!!!

Nic or nothing. Pure, unmodified, in your face, NIC. This really funny how this keeps going in circles. Like I said, this place will never be whole.

That is quite enough for a few days.

Unmodified?! Who has the power to modify. With whom shall you negotiate. The west pilots are USAPA and are forced to pay dues under threat of termination. Shall USAPA negotiate away from the nic on the west's behalf?

No plan is perfect, I wish the plan I saw that day had been presented to Nicolau instead of wasting everyone's time with a DOH proposal.

No, no plan is perfect, but the plan your merger committe had was respectable. Like you, I wish that plan would have been presented to Nicolau. I suspect he would have seen some reasonable ideas in there, which he likely would have used as he crafted the list.

All in the past now.

Let's move forward with the Nic. It's the only way.

Why are you surprised?

We went through negs, mediation, and arb.

The chance was there.

You guys blew it.

I think everyone that has half a brain knows that straight DOH will never work....AND Nic will never work. Nothing is going to change that.

We either need to start over with fences or whatever it takes to get it done, or accept that this airline will never be combined until the last guy from both sides that was hired before 2005 retires. But as long as Pure DOH and NIC is held on to I don't really think the airline will survive that long.

NIC and DOH as currently stated are dead ends. Everybody knows it, they just dont want to admit it due to pride or ego or whatever.

USAPA made this an all-or-nothing contest. Pulling out of negotiations was dumb, but eliminating the West as a separate bargaing agent was the dumbest thing USAPA could have ever done. But hey, according to Scottie Theuer, USAPA didn't need a plan B!

Man are they dumb.

I'm done with this. Status quo is perfectly acceptable, especially with a strict injunction slapped on USAPA. That'll keep the stupidity somewhat contained until we can get some new blood on the property and move forward then.

There is no one to negotiate away from the nic with. The west has no representative legally able to modify what was already agreed to. The invention of USAPA made sure the nic was set in stone.

Ironic isn't it? The only way forward is to accept the nic and get on with a new contract. But I don't think that will happen until the next merger.

Dream on. Nic will work because it's your only choice.

We went through years of negotiations, arbitration, and mediation and spent quite a bit of money to get to the Nic. And you guys now think we can pull a compromise out of thin air in only a few months?

Please.

And we have everything to lose and nothing to gain.

Save your hopes of no Nic. No one wants to hear them. This has nothing to do with ego and everything tomdo with binding arbitration.

The only ones the Nic won't work with is the east. But if you guys want a pay raise then the Nic is your ticket.

Now, enough of this compromise ####. I don't want to hear it anymore.

There is always a way. Just figure out a contract that both sides will vote for. NIC wont do it, and DOH wont do it. So sit down and figure out what will do it. 10 Year fences? 15 year? Protection of each sides retirement seat? (ie AWA guy retires AWA guy gets seat, US..US guy etc)

As long as statements are made such as "the only way forward is NIC" or "the only way is DOH" both sides are stuck right where we are.

Personally I think the only way out for us is very long fences..or wait 10 years for the retirements, which equates to the same thing except that scenario leaves us at current pay rates for another 10 years.

This merger is new territory, nobody has had to deal with what we have here now, so toss it and start over. Figure out what the majority of 5000+ ex awa and ex usair pilots will vote for and go with it. I dont see any other way, except for the remote possibility of a merger...then we have 3 groups to try to integrate...won't that be fun?? 🙂

What did I just tell you!?!?

It's Nic and only Nic.

There is no other way.

It's over for the east. That door closed a long time ago.

Get over it.

LOL, I believe Hitler made a statement close to that while sitting in his bunker with the Russians closing in from the West and the U.S. and British from the East.
Ah yes. Godwin's law is alive and well

Always the simple mind that runs to this analogy.

And no, he never made a statement close to that.
