I don't get the superiority part at all. As long as we got decent pay, which we did, we were all fine flying 73's and BAC 1-11 s and DC 9 s.

What were you paid to fly a DC 9 and how does compare to other airlines?

The Rusthead superiority delusion is alive and well today.
 
Ok, then let's go with your claim. Why then, knowing that you would dilute you profit sharing, would you "give" the west a bite of that apple? I know you guys aren't the most generous types and I can't imagine you wanted to give us a piece of that action. I ask again, why did you give it to us if it took money out of your pocket?

Second, why did you guys not fight for pay parity?

And I'll finish off with an observation. By giving us peofit sharing, the east not only "voluntarily" diluted their share but also, because of LOA 93, increased the pot. The west get even more money because we see me profits because of LOA 93.

Did I get that right?

There is a GREAT question. The MEC member I talked to called it an olive branch. The pilot group was not asked nor given an opportunity to weigh in on it...the MEC just did it. Gave away 40% of our profit sharing. Now, I don't have a problem with West getting profit sharing, but why take it out of OUR pockets? The company should have ponied up the cash to cover the West pilots if it was so darn important.

Second question...I have NO idea.

DC-9 Rates in 1998 were 159 hour day 163 night top of scale Captain and 109 day and 111 night F/O top of scale
Second year F/O pay was 72 day and 74 night.

Have a 1984 to 1988 contract somewhere around here, cannot find it off hand. But DC-9 rates in it were almost the same as current airbus rates. Though it bought a whole lot more back then.

In the late 70's and 80's U was one of the better paid airlines out there. Was a regional in size but paid on par with the big guys of the time. Pay was on par with the industry till the BK festival.

I'll be honest here and tell you that I already know the answers to my questions. First off, it wasnt an olive branch. Why in the world would we need to gave a peace gesture extended to us by the east. There was no animosity at that point in the timeline. The TA was a foundation for what was to come. And you had no decision in whether or not we got PS. It was ours to get and we got it from the company, not the east.

And you did try for parity BTW. You fought for it. But you had no leverage to get it and the costs to bring you up to the west rates were to high. You had nothing to offer to get it.

Sorry, but your story doesn't make sense. You guys wouldn't voluntarily dilute your PS for no return other than a peace gesture. That's BS especially since nothing happened to warrent it. And to subsidize it with LOA 93 on top of it makes your version even more improbable.

My version is correct. It's not first hand but I'll tell you it's close. That's why we have PS and you don't have parity.

Well, I've quoted the contract, told you what page to read it on, related what someone who was there told me. Believe what you like because the truth isn't convenient to your line of thinking.

You are right about two things: it doesn't make sense and we didn't do it voluntarily. I gave that MEC member hell for not asking the pilot group before they did it.

What we have here is a failure to communicate, Round and Round and Round we go, East Yellow Neckers refused to abide by binding arbitration, so they created a new union to skirt binding arbitration. Everything else is fluff, We all know that it appears that your main objective may be close US Airways down, because of you it appears at least two mergers were difficult to get done it may have been, you may fail to realize you were bankrupt, chapter 7 liquidation was literally a few days away. Still you may say no that is not true, Again my friends of people who believe in hardwork, dont bother trying to reason with yellowneckers, remember those yellownecker also make their bellies yellow as well.

Just quit yellowboys, why take down over 32000 people?, it appears that you may you be a whole group that believes in sadism to destroy all at all cost, it could appear that you guys are no better than insecure bullies, maybe a similar philosophy to destroy.

Now should anyone receive fema funds for a flood if you live on a lake or a bay? Should all funds received by such party's involbed be investigated, If you went to your village and or city and stated you needed a variance to build more bedrooms, but if you built something else should you be investigated, should we as americans all of us be investigated for fraud against the irs, our city, our neighbors. Yes I say investigate all of us even bush even obama even lincoln. Should the IRs be contacted? Should we be invesitgated if we received cars from dealers? I say yes all, every single american should be investigated.

Mr Parker there is more than one way to skin a cat, focus on credibility, if someone is lieing in one part of their life chances are they will lie in many other areas, Mr Parker please use your resources to learn how to skin cats. Just take down one domino, does not matter which one, they all will fall, think outside the box. after all over 32000 people are counting on you, the old truthful ways will not work in this case, other tactics are necessary to save the company

Airtran is owned and operated by SWA now. Are Airtran pilots paid the same as SW Pilots? No. Not even close. They WILL BE AFTER they complete their transition. Just like YOU were to be paid parity AFTER the transition worked out. Guess what? YOU WALKED AWAY!!!! I honestly cannot understand WHY this is such a difficult concept for the East to grasp! Your side walked out, started your own fake union, decided to hold the West hostage and extort money, and committed a DFR. A DFR that runs unabated to this very second. How can you possibly say you don't have a level playing field? YOU OWN the GOD DAMNED field and won't allow anybody else to play on it!

Are you starting to think that perhaps you weren't told the truth about the Legality of what USAPA was founded for? Even the dumbest among us should be figuring that out by now. If you want parity you need to finish the transition..the transition WE ALL AGREED TO not some B.S. after the fact Larceny to strip the West of anything and everything of any value. Your side get's paid like S**t because you decided to. YOU nobody else.

What will you do? An injunction in place and LOA 93 for the foreseeable future. Oh I know, I have the answer. Do what you should have done 4 years ago and accept binding arbitration. Or quit.

That's not trouble - the initial announcement was less than 11 months ago and the actual purchase was only a few months ago. Depending on the width of the divide between what the MC's worked out and what the AirTran MEC will accept, I assume they'll go back to negotiations or to mediated negotiations. If everything else fails I think I read that they'll be in arbitration before the end of the year if agreement isn't reached first. this is just a little pothole on the road of life...
