Really? So I guess that $300+ million the East on LOA 93 saves Doug isn't enough to keep the airline afloat or is it subsidizing a money losing West Operation in order to keep the whole operation afloat?

BTW, yeah I don't believe anything Parker says. When he opens his mouth I immediately have a vision of a horse raising his tail......Maybe that is why the Industry Magnates will NEVER allow him to run any of the Big Three.
 
It's strictly wishful thinking by the easties. Who apparently don't know anything about airline economics judging by the attempts to compare PHX with PIT. Close PHX and US would be right back facing liquidation in short order.

The concessions weren't enough to keep "old" US afloat - it was on the fast track to liquidation before the merger came along. Why would anyone expect something different if the West operation was eliminated? The problem with easties is that they're too wrapped up in emotion to logically think things through.

I bet you think the Nic being implemented is going to be the mother of all solutions to one of the most poorly managed airlines on the face of the planet.....You crack me up.

NO Land Green and others, are you still under the impression that us air was not going to liquidate? After all these years are you still unaware that several white knights saved us air east? Please respond and other easties, is this what you truly believe? Just look at the bankrupcty documents, literally US air east was seven day from going into liquidation. It is a known fact, it is easily researched. Now would american west been forced into bankrupcty or merger with another company? perhaps but that is not the issue.

Seriously I would appreciate response from the easties, do you guys truly believe that you were not going into liquidation? If so that is really the crux of the problem and perhaps an education campaign by management and the west might help you guys realize the absolute truth.

It really makes sense if you think about it.

The East is killing the airline. The costs are out of sight and there is no profitability on the East. The whole airline is about to go under because the East is such a financial failure and if not for the West profitability, the airline would be lost. The airline would be lost (try to sing that to Gilgan's Island theme song).

The company is hanging by a thread and about to plummet to the depths of financial hell.

Sooooo, the East should hurry up and adopt the Nic so that they (and the rest of the airline) can get the huge pay raises and make hundreds of millions of dollars.

If anyone needs to consider a change in their mindset, you look like a candidate. Pretty presumptous for you to ask a question and already tell us we are wrong before we even answer.

Nice attempt at deflection. I said nothing about the Nic, just that the East wouldn't survive without the West operation (and most likely vice versa). But you know that and didn't have a response...

Well the earth is round it is not flat, i just thought everyone knew that, so after reading some posts it appeared that some really did not know that us air was literally within in seven days of liquidation, so the east guys need to get this information. Even after all the cuts in pay you guys took, it was not enough, you had no cash on hand, and white knights came in before the merger announcement with american west. It is a known fact to all except to the east guys i guess. Please educate yourself look up the bankrupcty documents, find out the truth. I did not mean to offend, perhaps other posts, but I was so flabbergasted by some east that was stating it was nonsense that us air east was not going to liquidate. It is a known fact, you guys dont know this?

Even if i any of your allegations are true, in what forum do you propose for your allegations to have any relevance today?

Elimination of the West only raises costs further. In economic terms, it'll shorten the time to impact. The problem today is not the West revenue, it's the costs which old Airways did not adequately shed in two bankruptcies. Imagine how profitable JBLU would be with their pilots on LOA93.
