Baby steps I suppose. At any rate, do any westies seriously believe that the get off doh is going to happen in the immediate future? Or even any time soon? Or even at all absent a gavel dropping? If they did, great, but it just doesn't appear to be happening yet. At least with this guy, I see a level headed thought process.

A voice of reason. The reality is that with the current situation, someone that came out and said "Give up on DOH" would not get elected. There is a fairly large number of easties that would agree with that, but there are more that don't and combined with the apathetic, they will carry a day. The best we can hope for are people that are willing to let the process run it's course and then move forward and try to work together better with the west.

I don't know of a single eastie that doesn't believe that the westies will fight DOH until the end. I'm guessing that you "KNOW" that you will win that fight, is that right? Well, I talked to an east friend yesterday that "KNOWS" the east will win. So when the day comes that the last appeal is exhausted, and IF the west loses and it is legal for USAPA to replace section 22, what will you do?

Nothing. It won't happen. Remember it's you guys looking for compromise, not us.

How can he seriously expect to get off the road to nowhere while still advocating for DOH? It's the same road and the same destination. The company filed the DJ to move the process towards a resolution on the single issue that has plagued this process since May of 2005, not to prolong the status quo. USAPA is the cause of the delay and until they come to grips on section 22 and the NIC, the road to nowhere is all anyone should expect. Nothing new here.

I'll try to answer this one again, and hopefully make what I am trying to say more clear. Your post up to the last sentence is correct. However I think that a read of the latest Clt update alonside a read of John's material will show that there is indeed something new here, whith John. We've got to start somewhere.

We will continue to fight for separate ops. The west is better off alone and insulated in Phoenix than to mix in with the toxic east. No offense, but there isn't an overwhelming need to mix in now that the airline is in retreat mode and a couple court actions and arbitrations are coming due. Enjoy your LOA.

Yes, and most people thought OJ would be found guilty of murder. Things happen. So again, what does "nothing" mean, that you will accept it and move on with your life?

Thanks for being honest, but don't you see that is the same attitude that has been slammed by the west? You are willing to stay on your current contract until the west has the majority? How long will that be?

And the continuous "Enjoy your LOA" is telling of your character. Enjoy the right seat and your two leg commute from AVL to PHX, as that is all you are going to see for a while. I'm good driving to CLT for the 320 left seat on LOA 93. Thanks.

News Flash: Left seats coming open in the west, retirements start on both sides of the fence. You guys retire a lot on the right side of the cockpit, all of ours out west are from the left.

All of them? 100%? Hmm, you must have some really old looking youngsters over there that I see with 3 stripes on.

Yes we have quite a few that will retire from the right seat. Quite a few that are senior to me in the right seat of the 767 and A330, so right seat or left, if they are senior to me, great.

If you want separate ops, that's fine as long as you can affect it. If DOH is declared legal while the east is in the majority, you may not be able to do it.

Yes Pi, if it ever goes down that way I will accept it and move on. How about you and Nic?

You like that OJ analogy a lot, don't you?

I will absolutely go with what is decided and as for your question, I have put no eggs in that basket.

As an FYI, 40% of the Captain seats between 2012 and 2015 are coming from the west. and considering that the majority of the retirements are coming from the east, well, I'm sure you can figure out the rest.

A career of disappointments, how much difference will another make?

Again, the arrogance astounds me. How would you know what my career has produced?

You once posted when you graduated from high school. Here's a clue, if you were honest, I'm not much older than you, but I'm guessing way ahead of you career wise. If you would really like to live in AVL, I'm again guessing you would trade careers in a heartbeat.

Why would I trade careers with you? I'm ahead of you on the combined seniority list and that wouldn't make any sense. Only problem is we have to move one more time because the east high costs have made the America West operation uncompetitive. SUch is life.
