US Pilots Labor Discussion

I believe the pent up anger of some of our colleagues needs to stop once and for all. It's not healthy. I understand that life is an equal opportunity “dissapointer.” Furthermore, I recognize whenever we don’t receive what we think is fair, or just, we get angrier causing us to lash out. The feeling that the world's or US Airways' "injustice done to us" is greatly contributing to us to not find solutions to our problems. We continue to elect to union office people who were former ALPA leaders that have failed to produce in the past and they say what we want to hear, which keeps hurting us over-and-over again. It's time for us to have union leaders who tell us the truth, regardless if its what we want to hear or not, so effective solutions to our problems can be found.

Good Lord your eyes must be brown, or they will be shortly because you are so full of crap! What have YOU done to elect the right people? Are you now a MIGS? If not, come back when you can actually vote on someone.

As far as the rest, what has the COMPANY, you know the people that actually run the place, done to lessen the tension and anger? Nothing. Nada. Zip. I sent emails to several of our leaders advocating a "truce" and "safety stand down". Not a peep.

US Airways has received more outside safety accolades than any other U.S. airline. There are no safety issues here and US Airways' Maintenance, Safety, & Flight Training departments are top notch. To suggest otherwise is nonsense, just like Valerie Wells' bogus A330 issue where the Maintenace Department said there was nothing wrong with the aircraft. It's bogus for USAPA to try to gain leverage because of their failure to deliver one a single campaign promise by using a campaign under the guise of safety.

USAPA's and Cleary's actions will cause more pilot and other employee pain, there will be more pilot terminations, and no new pilot contract for years to come as long as USAPA continues its destrictive path opposing everything management proposes.

Again, as Albert Einstein once said, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result." Think about this quote for a second and ask yourself, does this quote apply to the way Cleary runs our union? Me thinks so...

The only thing the Company has done is let you maniacs run around unchecked. Parker is Dr. Frankenstein and the ugly abortion of a monster he helped create is running loose. Why do I sense another hysterical, hyperbolic USA Today ad filled with more lies, innuendo and half truths?

Pi brat,

There are more pilot terminations forthcoming for those pilots who violate the FOM and Company policy.

Nooooo, you're kidding? So that's the reason for all the extra staffing in the CPO, and supposed oversight in the hub towers? Who'da thunk it?

Party at your house?

How about answering the question. Are you now a MIGS?

Again, you are clueless. My F/Os tell me there is one captain that is a safety issue himself. Seems he spends all his time absorbed in writing things. I encourage them to step up and write him up. Safety first and company policy and all that.

Drama Queen

I have nieces that are very much drama queens, but they are no competition for you.

Good God man! I used to think you were clueless!, but I am glad to see you've turned that around 360 degrees.

Please clarify the question.. of ALPA, USAPA, or the Company?

Too funny, I intend to use that line on another board as soon as I can.

In USA320's defence, I will say that some in the union hierarchy are exhibiting symptoms of hubris wrapped in arrogance. If you engage them they act like they know more than you, they are not at liberty to give you all of the facts, and then they make it sound like its for your own good.

If you press the issue, they use the old "well in what way have YOU served in some capacity within the union?"

For example, I think we have a Grievance Chairperson with a marginal record of success at best, and who has been in that position far too long.

USA320Pilot

Frontline did an excellent expose of airline maintenance practices which aired early this year. It was a follow-on to Flying Cheap, which covered the BUF crash. The maintenance segment was called Flying Cheaper. USAirways was used as one of two carriers who practice this flawed, but money saving, approach to aircraft maintenance.

It was aired on most PBS stations. Check it out.

Don't humor yourself. Each and everyone of your individual, sycophant posts on a web board do not count as "accolades."

P.S. The deadline for accepting resumes has past already for all the new assistant chief pilot positions.

Accolade is such a big word. What does it mean? Is that like being featured on PBS?

Accolade is - according to my underground urban latin dictionary - a combination of three words, A Kool Aid, which by way of custom and usage has morphed into accolade.
