US Pilots Labor Discussion

So how do you feel, if you are in line in Wendys for 15 minutes, and somebody walks in the door and goes to the head of the line?
How would you feel if you were sitting in Wendys and someone walk in and says "That seat belongs to me"?

You go get more ketchup and when you get back he's in your chair eating your fries.

That what happened to Piedmont Captains after the USAir DOH merger.

I can't speak for B, but if it had been announced that the two restaurants were MERGING, and that the line would be formed by who had been waiting the longest, I'd be OK with it.

I didn't say it in that post. I have said it before. Did I say US was not headed towards liquidation in that post?
"Probably" implies at least some doubt. Care to point me to the post where you've said "US was going to liquidate". You seem to have no such doubt about what faced HP...wonder why

I edited my post. How could I say that? I was not in a position to know, and neither were you. Best we could do was lay odds. Give me the date that you KNEW US would shut down.

Now, let's see you attack dreaminofclt with the same tenacity.

I obviously cannot state why the West MEC refused to engage the East MEC at Wye River on its proposal to modify the Nicolau Award in settlement of the dispute.

Possibly because every east proposal started with DOH...

But the only people that told you the line would form that way were wrong. the guy that made that announcement did not have the authority to tell you that.

You were promised DOH/LOS and the guy in charge of deciding that used a different method. So take your relative place in line and I will take mine.

Downward trends?!?! Really? How many continuous quarters of profit did AWA show prior to the merger being announced? I'll give you a hint - its in the double digits.

Uhaul? Did Mom put you in time out and take your iphone? Are you the etrade baby? I love that kid.

Anyway, did I get it wrong? Am I reading the wrong 10-K? Cause here is another blurb that backs my statement and I don't want to be wrong.

"Note Concerning Forward-Looking Information

This report contains various forward-looking statements within the meaning of Section 21E of the Securities Exchange Act, as amended (the “Exchange Act”). These statements are based on management’s beliefs as well as assumptions made by and information currently available to management. When used in this document, the words “anticipate,” “estimate,” “expect,” “project” and similar expressions are intended to identify forward-looking statements. Such statements are subject to certain risks, uncertainties and assumptions. Should one or more of these risks or uncertainties materialize, or should underlying assumptions prove incorrect, actual results may vary materially from those anticipated, estimated, projected or expected. Among the key factors that may have a direct bearing on our results are:

• general economic conditions;

• the impact of global instability caused by military actions, terrorism, disease outbreaks and natural disasters;

• limitations on our flexibility in responding to industry conditions due to high fixed costs and restrictions imposed by our debt instruments;

• changes in federal and state laws and regulations;

• changes in prevailing interest rates and the availability of and terms of financing to fund our business;

• the ability to attract and retain qualified personnel;

• the cyclical nature of the airline industry;

• competitive practices in the airline industry;

• the impact of changes in fuel prices; and

• relations with unionized employees generally and the impact and outcome of labor negotiations."

#3 stands out.

Should the guy in line get a seat in the new restaurant before someone who was already sitting in the old one?

Absolutely not, that's why people like pre and uhaul shouldn't go ahead of me at my "restaurant"(I seriously doubt either one will even with Nic, but they won't tell me when they were hired). But............haven't you listened to the westies? It's not either of the old restaurants, it's a new one, made up of parts of the old ones, mostly mine. If my restaurant had indeed closed, and nothing was transferred to the new one, I'd willingly go to the complete back of the line.

Cause here is another blurb that backs my statement and I don't want to be wrong.

Sounds sorta like this:

The Company’s business has continued to be significantly impacted by fuel prices, which can be extremely volatile; therefore, the Company’s strategic plans and future profitability are likely to be impacted by the Company’s ability to effectively address fuel prices.

The airline industry is particularly sensitive to changes in economic conditions; a return of unfavorable economic conditions or an increase in economic uncertainty could negatively affect the Company’s results of operations.

The Company’s results of operations could be adversely impacted if it is unable to grow or to timely and effectively implement its revenue and other initiatives.

The Company is increasingly dependent on technology to operate its business and continues to implement substantial changes to its information systems; any failure or disruption in the Company’s information systems could materially adversely affect the Company’s operations.

Instability of credit, capital, and energy markets can result in pressure on the Company’s credit ratings and can also negatively impact the Company’s ability to obtain financing on acceptable terms and the Company’s liquidity generally.

The airline industry has faced on-going security concerns and related cost burdens; further threatened or actual terrorist attacks, or other hostilities, could significantly harm the airline industry and the Company’s operations.

Changes in or additional governmental regulation could increase the Company’s operating costs or otherwise limit the Company’s ability to conduct business.

The airline industry is affected by many conditions that are beyond its control, which can impact the Company’s business strategies.

The airline industry is intensely competitive.

I particularly like 1,2, and 5...

Care to guess which carrier made those statements in it's 10K?

Clear, I'm going to tell you again, I was not promised DOH, not that you will listen.

You are correct about the line, Nic ordered it incorrectly, IMHO. Problem is, the customers said "Not so fast Pops!". A fight developed, the cops are on their way. We'll see what happens. I don't know.

Don't care Jimbob, we are talking about AWA here. Please, try to keep up.

Now, how about dreaminiofclt's claims.............

Ok bebe, I will admit you are pretty good at the numbers. Here is the 10-K I was looking at:

http://www.getfilings.com/o0000950153-05-000517.html

What am I missing that will back up dreamin? Am I looking at the wrong thing?

Absolutely not, that's why people like pre and uhaul shouldn't go ahead of me at my "restaurant"
You make the same mistake as so many other easties - you consider it your "restaurant" or list when it's not. It's those on "your" list being combined with those on the west list to form a new list - not you getting people added to "your" list or the westies getting people added to "their" list. The people who had a table at the old "restaurants" were given a table at the new "restaurant", while those who didn't don't take one from someone who had a table already. The people who had bigger tables got bigger tables at the new "restaurant". The people who had 1/2 lb burgers got 1/2 lb burgers - the guy waiting for a 1/4 pound burger doesn't get to say "Give me that guy's 1/2 lb burger - he wasn't in line as long at his restaurant as I was at mine."
