US Pilots Labor Discussion

Upset???? Are you nuts????

LOA 93 is the leverage that is bringing your fake union to its knees. Its a matter of simple math. The more time goes by, the more supporters you lose. When the courts finally finish this dispute telling you that NIC will be the list in a year or so, a contract will come out for a vote. By then the only ones left to vote "no" will be Black Swan, luvthe9, and you. Good luck with that. Most pilots will be so tired of LOA 93 and being held hostage by the AFO's that any decent contract will pass.
The west guys talk about it all of the time. I'll be honest with you, I've seen maybe one out of 100 that want out of LOA 93 and they are in the top 500...nothing to lose. What if they have two publicized votes: one that include the Nic, followed by a vote that doesn't. I think we both can guess the outcome of that. If anyone knows the outcome of all of this then they are way too smart to be working here.

You might have to publicly acknowledge, finally, that the "nic" will never come to pass to get a 30% raise, but that would be your decision.

It's more likely that you will have to publicly acknowledge that accepting the Nic will be the only way to get a 30% raise and other contractual improvements. And it will be decided by a judge.

I just finished watching the most recent CLT crew news. Scott Kirby says that he hopes east and west can reach a compromise to resolve the seniority dispute. He further states that if we don't the court will dictate the Nicolau list must be used or the company (can) use DOH. He says that this will be resolved, best case 12 to 18 months.

I believe that I can speak for 99.999% of the west here and say that we are more than willing to wait that amount of time for a resolution by the court. After four years and millions of dollars we would be foolish to do otherwise. So, for anyone from the east attempting to move the west in any direction other than the final and binding decision of the arbitratior - you are wasting your time.

Kirby was correct about the 18 month “minimum.” He neglects to tell you there is currently no court order or even court procedure going on right now that prevents US Airways from settling a contract/section 22 with the pilots, and a vote taking place that would ratify it. And of course the "ripe" situation after said ratification. Had management really been concerned about liability they would have been front and center with Judge Wake. After years of saying they were not going to get involved, they did. At great expense to us all.

Let me ask..are you saying that with M & A activity Doug and Scott would also be willing to sit back and "wait" for the court process (my guess is 3 years by the time it goes to the 9th, back to Judge Silver, back to the 9th, and eventually at least another knock on the door at SCOTUS) and miss their big payout? No way Jose'.

Great risk ahead, some it self inflicted, on the West side right now. More to come on that shortly from a scholar much smarter than me (and that is really saying something!)

Does your 99.99% figure include your 4-500 non members?

You are not following events very closely, are you? ALPA lover, maybe?

You guys are cornered, there is no way out. The west is well funded and unwilling to compromise on the compromise. Sorry super hero, you can't steal our seniority. Look on the bright side, another day closer to retirement on commuter wages. Congratulations, you have reached your fullest potential in life, but I am sure you already realize that.
Me, much more to look forward to in the next 25 years with industry consolidation. Hmm... Where will you go next?

No not an ALPA lover.

Definitely not a Teamster lover either. Is that your implication? That voting in the Teamsters is going to get you your DOH seniority list?

I've already passed on being a Teamster once back in 1980. No thanks.

Guess you are counting on the retirement age being raised above age 65.

I "peaked" professionally years ago. My life, and I am sure yours, is about everything except this job. So far it pays the bills, and yes, it is getting to be a struggle.

I am much older than Sue, and lately she seems to be invisible more and more in the bedroom...I think she is avoiding me. Can I blame that on the West?

Don't agree with the East stealing seniority part, nor does the 17 year guy that went behind a new hire. It will not be the East pilots stealing anything shortly. You will be on your own with your own scope and a nice winter weather crew base with zero wide bodies (insert joke here.) Good luck.

You got me cornered!

Who cares? We'll just sue the piss out of the trucker union too. Guaranteed.

Do you bowl with your crystal ball too?
I'm glad you peaked years ago, seems you won't have to worry about challenging that again in your remaining years. So be it, we all make our choices. I look forward to my inheritance, it is almost certain the west will be flying almost all wide body airplanes by the end of this decade. Four years (almost) with USAPA and it is obvious they have nothing left- cornered by the company and cornered by AOL. Yes, it looks like the west has weathered the east's desperate attack on our seniority rights and now we are just waiting for your clock to tick down to zero. Enjoy your career, we look forward to the sound financial future you have bestowed upon this company. Over $600 million and counting... To you sir, I say "THANKS".

and, the teamsters of the 2010 are the same as the teamster of 1980? Are you totally stupid?

I know for a fact that the teamsters today are much more professional and knowledgeable about union affairs than either ALPA or AFA.

My implication is that people like you have no idea what you are talking about.

I am not saying the pilots should go with the teamsters. I am just saying that pilots with cranial tumors exhibit the same crippled mental symptoms, as say, Boingo.

No, PS is not stupid, but you sure seem desperate. You guys are falling apart on the east, your plan doesn't work and you fortunately cannot steal what is not yours. You see, our society has rules and that does not mean mob rule, rather it means law and ethics rule our society. Try thinking about that for a change instead of fixating on our captain seats. You will see things much clearer. Peace.

You have less credibility in your posts than when you posted as EastUS. Been in any dogfights of late?

Unfortunately for you, your cranial tumor is located in your rectum
