US Pilots Labor Discussion

Well, we had a little meeting in the back of end-of-alpa's van and decided to let you guy have this place to yourselves.

What's to talk about? I think we have pretty much pulverized every topic in the last 6 years. Now, we just wait...............
You guys need to stay away from that van. Nothing good ever comes out of it.

Personally I think USAPA needs to shed a little more light onto WTF has happened here. If it's strange billing and such, uhmmm....why wasn't it caught sooner? If it's a personal matter, as some of alluded to, I.E. someone's current g/f who was employed by SSMP recently getting let go, and this being a personal vendetta, well that's a whole different matter. So why aren't there the minor details unleashed in the updates and such, as opposed to the general nuances that we have been given.

Alpo did I like, no........the way this group has gone, has been straight towards the Alpo dog bowl. They need to change course or they will be flying the line agian......god forbid....

Oh and for you lurkers., Not all the JAPs are single mindely following the leadership. get a grip. Yes we are tired of hearing the stories of the lost 3rd houses and all the toys, but we aren't out to get you senior guys, for our gain. Something different from you lifetime I understand, but really....

Crz;
While claiming to be a more transparent union, USAPA has done its utmost to keep hidden agendas hidden. This legal quagmire stared when Cleary had some other law firm file the suit in NY. When USAPA announced this, there should have been a BIG RED FLAG and the CLT based pilots should have been on USAPA's doorstep to seek an explanation. The reason that you haven't seen updates is because Cleary's house of cards and FPL excesses don't need you to shake the table.

Here we are several months later, and the crack legal team that promised a DOH slam dunk is now leaving the building with over $10,000,000 of our dues money. The top tier of USAPA FPL takers are making more than they could possibly make flying a 99 hour line (some while staying comfortably at home).

This experiment has bought delay ONLY. Further, it has cost us all collectively hundreds of millions of dollars in lost wages, time off and contract improvements. Take a wild guess how much money we have in the merger fund? Do we even have a merger fund???

It is time to change the union constitution so as to accept the Nicolau award as the seniority list at the new US Airways, and move on. Then we can staff the NAC with seasoned negotiators and perhaps get a wage like what DAL is now getting (you know DAL....that's the airline that successfully merged with a blended list and is now negotiating a SECOND post merger contract).

Did I miss something? Did Kasher's decision come out?

Yes, It was a huge loss for the East, which took the wind out of everyones sails which gave leverage to the west, then they gave up and capitulated on the Nic, and on top of that they were ordered to pay damages from the injunction....

Oh, sorry, just got caught up in a West Fantasy.....

I am not a pilot, but, I think you are a bit naive in your assumptions. BTW, I got to sit in the jumpseat of a KC-135R today. And got to observe in the boom operator's station as he refueled a B2 Stealth bomber. Pretty much the coolest flight I've ever been on!
Government employee or contractor good for you! The private sector non-government reliance companies could use some business acumen from senior management of your sector

You really are clueless aren't you... There is no way we are going to accept the NIC..
I'm pretty confident the NIC will never be the list and you are pretty confident it will.
So this will play out in due time.

Not sure I agree with your type of change, especially the "seasoned" negotiators. As I feel anyone who has had any experience in ALPA negotiations should not be allowed at the table. It's not rocket science to negotiate a contract. It's not rocket science to determine how things would or should be worded, but anyone in alpa the past 50 years has yet to figure it out.

Since you know everything about negotiating maybe you should show the company "how its done"...

I mean really. to hear a capt, have heartache over the fact that he thinks a restoration of pay rates will dive the company into a 3rd BK, and who knows what will happen now. Having to explain to him, that about a simple 600lbs per flight hour saved, (or somewhere around there) will result in a net break even for everyone to get a pay raise. Whereas, where everyone is pissed off, not giving a rats Ass about how the plane is operated or if people missconnect, etc etc etc......how much in extranous expenses do we ultimitely control with the operation of the airplane. How much savings would the company observe with happy pilots????? I know they have bean counters, and if we can do the math in a single short flight, these guys I'm sure can figure it out. Whooops. I'm sorry, I forgot about the team we are talking about.

USA320Pilot should be their spokesperson.......he fits the bill and he will do it for FREE.................

I have to agree with you. Southwest Airlines comes to mind.
