US Pilots Labor Discussion

Interesting how when something you like happens, you are quick to claim credit. But someone points out that all the stuff you blame ALPA for was actually your very own east pilots, you deny accountability and don't hesitate to blame ALPA National.
I am not involved in USAPA other than paying dues.

Just saying it like it happened. The fact that you, along with tj, can't seem to think is not my problem.

I am happy to have seen ALPA go, and not just for the wrongful arbitration.

Just curious - as long as you're "just saying it like it happened" what did ALPA do? Terminate the pension - east pilots. LOA 84 - east pilots. LOA 93 - east pilots. Allow the sale of the 170's out from under the MDA pilots - east pilots. Accept the MDA "Eagle" contract for MDA - east pilots. Ratify the E190 pay - east pilots. Relax scope in the TA - east pilots. Have a merger policy you now disagree with - oh, you excepted that. I can't think of anything ALPA did...as long as you're "just saying it like it happened."

Was there not a vote of the MEC? Wasn't the MEC composed of east pilots?

I can't think of a single concession, dating back to Scofield, that either the MEC or line pilots didn't approve. Heck, the US MEC was even instrumental in changing the ALPA merger policy in the early 90's, though they didn't do it single-handedly. Perhaps you've got one, just one, thing that ALPA did.

Well JIMBO, they accepted compensation for nothing for starters, that's what they did! BTW, they have NO MERGER POLICY! By that I mean as the winds change! ALPA DOA, those JETBLUE pilots sure were smart!

ALPA got them the highest pay rates in the industry. They crafted every single source of additional money over and above their book rates. Every check you gotten over and above the hours worked was a direct result of ALPA sponsored negotiation. I'm no fan of ALPA, but they deserve both bouquets and brickbats.

So I guess giving away a perfectly good pension without a vote is not a concession! !

Hahahahahahhahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's pretty frickin' funny! Not in your wildest dreams are we (or the courts) going to stop talking about "the NIC stuff." And it WILL be coming right back up your six before you know it.

Actually laugh all you want, but well, the laugh is on you! Gonna luv this week!

I've seen similar views on "no bump, no flush" before which leads me to believe there's a misunderstanding of what it means. Put simply, it means that pilot A can't displace pilot B when the list goes into effect just because pilot A is senior on the integrated list (no bump). Normal displacement (bumping) is definitely allowed unless there's a specific C&R to prevent it as was the case in the US/PI merger.
The west contract does not allow for bumping unless their is a displacement bid (so-called reduction bid). No bid without vacancies. I would bet this provision remains in any JCBA.
