Actually, what brought about the demise of pensions, was a change to the methods of accounting that allowed underfunding and the transfer of pension money.

Corporate raiders in the '80 stole well funded pension plans at smaller comapnies (i.e. Icahn stole the Ozark pension) by simply doing hostile takeovers.

As far as crappy pay for decades, AWA paid a commensurate rate for the size airline, and industry comparable rates for most of its history. Once, AWA became a major airline, its rates lacked the much larger majors, but were still comparable even better than its industry low cost competitors such as ValueJet, ATA and even SWA.

Now, the east on the other hand, has been on LOA93 for how long now?

Claxon is likely a former east furloughed pilot. Moreover, I would go as far to say, he sounds like one of the furloughees who took recall to the West, and when the Nic came out, and his dreams of stealing his co-workers jobs were thwarted, he blew a gasket.

Then, the pea-brained moron had something happen he did not expect. He got furloughed from the West, and threw in the towel regarding employment at USAirways.

I am guessing he now works for the FAA.

The NAC is only concerned about getting the east a better contract. They are gutting our contract in order to put more money on the east.

Tell us how or what do you have to offer that is better than the Nic? What have you got to offer?

The east wants all of the money and all of the seniority.

ran into one of the NAC guys the other day, we chatted for a while... Seems like the company is doing major stonewalling.... under Parker's costume of we can't do anything becasue of the NIC .... Heminway, Glass, Hogg are all there.

This is what we know about. We don't even know what the language says that will screw the west even more.

The Kirby proposal is about $32,000 per year for east pilots. While the Kirby is worth about $5000.00 per year for a west pilot. Is usapa capable of getting more than the Kirby? If so $50,000 is very real.

The East is solely responsible for their miserable lives. I couldn't care less how little you make, how much you hate your job, how much you hate "team tempe", (who saved your career btw) I couldn't care less how unfair you think life is. Your mess is all on YOU, YOU, YOU. USAPA was exactly the meteoric failure you were told it would be and it's cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I can't help but shake my head and laugh at how idiotic the East is. You guys couldn't have made worse decisions. Every. Single. Time.
