US Pilots Labor Discussion

A320 Driver, always respect your posts on here.. Not saying that at all.. We are in a bad position... Mostly because of Team Tempe...

what i'm saying is guys with less than 5 years left, I really hope they don't push for us to accept a NIC so they can get a small raise for the short time left. Many of us have been here for 20+ years and are at 85 an hour... We have 15-17 years left...
The NIC will crush us...

what I'm saying on a fairness basis the E190 FO's and our group 2 FO's are the ones that need a raise the most...

85 an hour for 20 years....... think about it ......

they guy sitting next to you, the one doing basically the same job, the one getting up at 5AM just like you takes home 85K per year...

plus giving the top 517 to the EAST means nothing.. those 517 will be gone anyway in 5 years or less...

take care.

Hey crazy, look around the board. You're losing.

USAPA's influence is fading rapidly. Past events are setting in and the east you depend on for power have had enough.

You now post to convince your fellow easties to stay the course and not throw you under the bus.

Its over for you boo.

20 years and $85K a year.

And you want LOA93 over the Nic?

And you don't think the lower end bloc of easties is going to jump on a raise?

People, if you want a good case of denial, crazy is it.

I understand what you are saying. What I am seeing more and more are people reevaluating their position. I think this is happening for three reasons.

First, the ungodly expense of defending our position.

Two, the personal loss in wages and work rules and our loss of any meaningful leverage.

And last, the amount of time this is all taking. For many, the time is working to their advantage in the form of upgrades etc. However, the age 60 rule change, while beneficial for some, was a nail in the coffin to others and buried them in a position on the seniority list that they cannot recover from before retirement.

Driver...

Crazy,

Reread the above post over and over again. It may help the reality of the situation sink in for you.

The winds have changed out east and you're about to be left behind.

Crazy,

I can understand where you're coming from. I sit next to those guys everyday. It's not about getting a small raise for me for my remaining years. Honestly, I don't need the money. I still enjoy flying. But what it truly comes down to is, even though I voted NO on everything it had to do with the BK BS, (except I did vote for USAPA - not because they were the answer, I felt Alpa was no longer representing our best interests), we have failed miserably. We need to accept that fact and, for once in our lives, do the right thing. Whether we didn't vote for this or didn't vote for that, we became complacent- something you're taught to watch out for in our job........why not in our lives. I'm prepared to take we we've sowed. It needs to be put to a vote and we need to accept the outcome. Its time to MAN UP!!!
Just my thoughts and feelings!!

True, we were typically the first ones to step up to the plate. We were the highest compensated group and that is the way it should be. We did it without thanks and without alcolades even from those who were spared cuts during those times. Had we NOT taken those cuts, how much deeper into YOUR pockets would the company have tried to reach. But, that's OK. We are used to being called names and unappreciated by the other employee groups.

Have you pitched this script to Sally Field? She's the only one who could tearfully do this justice.

Unfortunately, the majority of the east has demonstrated their willingness to screw the west with a clear conscience. In case you're wondering where the sympathy went.

Spared cuts?

Are you serious?

Every unionized group at US took concessions, did you lose 46% of your workforce after the second bankruptcy?

And you all flew over our picket lines, you wont get any sympathy from any other unions when you cant even support yourselves.

Even the AFA supported the IAM, instead many pilots cleaned planes, and cursed at us when we were walking the picket line, not writing up mtc issues.

You made your bed, now sleep in it.

I'm sorry that the east lost LOA93. Is there any chance now, that the east thinks getting a good contract is important? No middle ground between the west and east contracts, but an improvement on the west contract.

Okaaaay, I guess the answer, from what I'm reading, is no. Since I don't want a contract that is worse than what I have, I say separate ops and LOA 93 forever.

That wont happen, its not in the RLA, eventually an impasse will be declared, you can be free to strike and the company will impose its last and final offer.

What the hell is going on here!?!?!

I'm having more feelings.

And there it is on full display - the AWA scumbag stealing jobs attitude.

Those jobs required to "bring the East up to" the West vacation level were originally taken from East pilots when their vacation was decimated using the AWA contract as the target. Under NIC they will all be transferred to AWA lowlifes.

The best part is these lowlifes have absolutely totally convinced themselves that this is their right. They think that 3400 East pilots are all just out in left field.

You have got to love it...

Your villain resides in your mirror. Its the east that caused this problem, you could have had a contract, but you all got greedy.

What part of Binding Arbitration didn't you get? The Binding part, or the Arbitration part?

The part that no one on the West will ever get is the NIC was an ALPA INTERNAL UNION PROCESS... IT WAS BINDING ON ALPA as their bargaining position... not USAPA. While a judge may impose it (doubtful), otherwise, just like any other section of the contract, everything is negotiable until it is ratified.

The time period I was referring to was well before the AWE merger.

So I take some time away and now we have the curtain pulled back. What have we found? The true stinking mess our union has been hiding. As I said from the start, the problems that have plagued our group for decades are the people among our very own ranks who think they can force everyone to follow their wishes through intimidation and peer pressure. I say its about time the legal system puts an end to this. What we have now is pretty clear evidence that the end of USAPA is near. The silent majority is starting to speak up. I for one am with JetJok and others who say USAPA has failed miserably. It's time to cut our losses, stop letting the entitled few steer the ship, accept our collective responsibility, and move forward with a contract with the arbitrated award. And lets hope and pray that the west does not seek and win damages that will haunt us for the rest of our careers.

Lets see what a brief look back in recent time brought us:

This in reference to an inevitable LOA93 win. Oh so confident were you, huh? And you wonder why they gloat now.

End run? The only thing going off the cliff are your unrealistic expectations.

What was it that Judge Silver said about the offer of mediating the arbitrated result? Oh yeah... a waste of time.

Perhaps you need a new crystal ball. The ninth only saw that Addington was not YET ripe. And what's this fascination with spanking? What goes around comes around. Brace! Incoming!

The majority wanted him to lead us here? No. This is not what any of us wanted. The new majority of 51% will have much more to say about how this gets resolved than your old "majority."

This is what you call precision? Good Grief!

Who owns who now?

Its time for the complacency to end and real men of integrity to take charge.
Thanks.... Well said!
