US Pilots Labor Discussion

Are you sure it's going to take even 10 years? In 10 years nearly 2200 East pilots are retired with age 65 alone........

We've been down this road before, it will take about 10 years for the bottom third lister to enjoy an attrition upgrade to captain. Ask PI how old he is? The guy was hired in his early twenties back in '86 because of his dad. He's got a lot of life left at Airways and there are plenty more just like him.

It will take less than 10 years for the bottom 3rd lister to see the left seat on the East in a separate operation. There will be medicals to add to the 2200 number I mentioned above.

Yes I do know how old PI is, he pulled gear for me over 20 years ago.

Enjoy your Web Board Day, I have to go to work now.

If I am the first of 500 pilots hired on the East, starting today....what would be my motivation for wanting the merger to happen?

The first thing I thought of was....because then I could bid out of PHL!!!

But the real answere is, because then I could fly for more than regional airline wages.

PHX,

I believe the court will order US Airways and USAPA to implement to Nicolau Award. Therefore, US Airways will make this a Section 22 requirement. Then in a couple of years the majority of pilots will rule (the East- anti-USAPA pilots, the 3rd listers, & USAPA's PHX-based pilots), which is the foundation of USAPA...majority rules.

Reading the CLT and PHL update majority rules only if CLT and PHL reps are in the majority.

Listen to them complain when they lose a vote.

So, what is your point? We have always done a professional job and will be safe. No biggie!

breeze
If that's what you call "professional", then sure.

From your safety record to your ability to deal with the company, your professionalism speaks volumes. History is a great mirror - sneak a look once in a while.

I especially like the professionalism of the Captain that shot a hole in his aircraft because he wanted to be ready to run off the aircraft when it hit the blocks. Or the Captain that tried to race one of our own to the gate up in BDL and ended up in the mud. Or the Captain that didn't understand her aircraft's system and used made-up procedures to try and ground it.

Ya, professional job indeed.

Yes!!!!

He was in a communications position with ALPA and influenced a lot of people, including me. I trusted his opinion because he claimed to have an inside track and that the merger with United was a done deal. How many times did you hear that, Dan? "It's a done deal"?

It was just another screwing by an ALPA committee member who was high on "being a cub reporter" instead of representing the pilots at USAirways. What is really sick is that you don't even see it.

breeze
You are upset because your inside trader information was wrong? That some stock you thought was going to pop did not.

Man you guy will blame anyone for anything as long as you don't take responsibility for anything.

Since when does the company tell the union anything before it happens especially a merger? Violation of SEC rules.

Dan,

I fully respect the honor involved here.....Semper Fi, All for One, etc....Really, I do respect that line of thought.....probably why I am vocal for the East pilots.

However, when it is obvious that your leaders, ALPA in this case, has sold you out a couple of years back, do you still fall on your sword? That seems to me where this train took a turn off the tracks in your case.

I beleive ALPA sold us out long before they tried to represent us with NIC. I think that if you research the timelime, you would agree.....of course you may have a different timeline or agenda......in which case, there is no loyalty.....

Why exclaim "Semper Fi" to ALPA after the way they sold us out?

When you say ALPA, do you mean your MEC?

Otherwise, you're once again making excuses and blaming others. That is unless your nickname for Chip is "ALPA".

You know what, lets start a list of people that have caused you guys your grief.

Its not our [The East's] fault! We blame _____________ for our woes.

1. ALPA National (sold us out)
2. Nicolau (old and senile)
3. Chip (influential talker)
4. Judge Silver (western hick judge)
5. Kasher (LOA 93 - he was ill and unable to render a proper decision)
6. Judge Conrad (did not truly understand our effort)
7. Judge Wake (western hick judge)
8. Seham (found out he sucked and lied to us)
9. Cleary (starting to see he's kind of nuts)
10. AoL (ALPA secretly feeding money to them)
11. Senior Captains (sold us out)
12. Angry FOs (holding us hostage)
13. Parker (won't do what we tell him to do)
14. Bular (in it for himself)
15. Company (anti-East and giving our flying to the west)
16. Move2CLT (his truth is starting to set us free)

Breeze, if I've missed someone, please feel free to add to the list.

They don't just complain, they start alluding to wild conspiracies and how there is a new treachery attempting to steal from them. Nut Jobs.

My loyalty to ALPA was lost long before the arbitration, as was 99% of the East pilots.

Honestly, my home being from the same area, give or take 30 miles, I just don't get your logic. Maybe you were just late in bailing out on ALPA like the rest of us. Each person has their own angle.

I disagree with you tho,
breeze
99% really? What was the vote for usapa? Was it 99% east voted to replace ALPA? Why is it that you accuse anyone that opposes usapa to be an ALPA loyalist? That 1% causing all the trouble? I thought majority ruled and 99% can't control the 1%.

Weak!!!!

I forgot to add Kahn and Kennedy for deregulating the industry.

Add Wolf and Gangwal for obvious reasons.

Why was it OK to have a 17+ year F/O on the bottom of the list before the merger, but now it is an outrage? Certainly he deserved to be a Captain then also.

Hey idiot boy # 2 no one here is saying that and even if they were when attrition starts they won't want you job anyway...which they don't but if it makes you feel good to say it knock yourself out.
Do you not realize by now that we are 2-3 years away from anything to even vote on. How much time ya gonna waste dude. You will get an ulcer if you don't already have one.
You are a newbie relax...when you check out in 10-15 years you will feel better.
