US Pilots Labor Discussion

Why do you think the suggested fence was for only the 777's already on the property?

Because RR thinks he is going to jump in front of a 50 year old AA captain hired in 1986, who has spent the last 20+ years in the left seat and a dozen or so as widebody captain.

But why should this young AA captain complain, he can have his job back once RR is done with it and east attrition really kicks in?

A Personal Message from Eric Ferguson, Ken Holmes, and John Scherff

We would like to express our sincere thanks to all of you for your unwavering support and encouragement over the last year. As you can imagine, this has been a difficult time for the three of us and our families while we have waited many months for the conclusion of the company's investigation. In some ways, a paid leave of absence could be seen as a windfall for the three of us. But, it is easy to see how little fun was actually had when one considers the severity of the false allegations of “Identity Theft” levied against us by USAPA and takes note of the union's efforts to destroy us. While it hasn't been all bad, it hasn't been all that great either.

We are proud of how our West brothers and sisters have remained strong while allowing the investigation run its course. From the moment this all began, we implored all of you to separate this investigation from everything else, especially from your primary job of flying airplanes safely and efficiently for US Airways. Your performance has been remarkable.

At this time, the company has issued a thirty-day suspension (without pay) to each of us as a result of its “Section 19” investigation, but it is critical to remind everyone that the process is not yet complete. We have already advised the company of our intent to appeal and we are hopeful that it will reconsider its decision. In the meantime, we respectfully ask you to maintain the professional demeanor and behavior for which you are well known. While we feel that the company's ruling is unjust, we will not let this negatively affect our relationships with our supervisors and peers, and neither should you. Please maintain the utmost professionalism and respect during every interaction with any and all employees, particularly while in the public view. Do not give into negative emotions, serve to build rather than destroy, and work to forge channels of communication as opposed to severing ties.

We would like to again express our appreciation for your support, and ask that it continue throughout our suspensions and beyond. We will be back on line soon, and hope to continue in your service. Remember that the ultimate goal for all of us is a positive and concrete legal conclusion regarding seniority, and ultimately, a contract and company we can all be proud of. We must all keep our eyes on the ball!

Fraternally,

Eric, Ken and John

I see this degenerated quickly into you and Jim inserting what you think are my "intentions" into an argument about POSSIBLE starting points in merger talks that probably will never happen. You are so full of piss and vinegar about not getting the NIC you refuse to believe the world could actually continue to turn (and other mergers occur) without it happening.

I should have known better.

Now that USAPA has agreed to a Permanent Injunction and the report that USAPA official Courtney Borman received a 30-day suspension for a uniform/lanyard violation -- it appears the Flight Department is now taking a more harsh position against pilots who violate rules. In my opinion, USAPA's illegal slowdown has placed many pilots in a precarious position and we could see more pilot discipline in the future for violators.

What!!!! Our boy 9-piece is off the job for a month??? Holy cow... hope the fast food joints at T4 can survive the drop in business!

I have said it over-and-over, pilots who violate rules or take pot shots at management are placing them self at risk. In my opinion, it's time for US Airways' pilots to elect reasonable USAPA leaders who will work with management and for every pilot to build versus tear down the company. Pilots owe it to 32,000 people to efficiently fly US Airways' aircraft and provide the best possible travel experience to those who pay their salary - the valued customer.

And, I believe it serves no useful purpose for pilots to fight management and not work with management to provide a better future for everybody.

The upcoming USAPA Officer elections have the opportunity for a new beginning, which starts with electing Andy Reitz and other talented people to USAPA Officer positions.

Sorry Andy, you are probably doomed now, whoever you are.

John should be thankful. I wonder if any other manager that gave employee S.S#s to an LLC would only get a month off. I doubt it, they probably would have been fired.

Have you looked at the performance numbers?? How dare you infer this group has done anything other than fly these aircraft safely, efficiently, and on time, IN SPITE of the fact that we work under a bankruptcy contract with more days and less vacation, less pay, and worse conditions than anytime in our history on this airline. You are a real piece of work. The perfect management mouthpiece. Why don't you get off your knees and take a look around.

Driver,

Yea right. That's why USAPA and its members were found guilty of an illegal job action, the PHX-based flying during the summer far exceeded the East Coast-based pilot operational performance for the DOT's metrix, and I have to teach most of the F/Os I fly with how to do single-engine taxi.

Interestingly, I heard there are going to be more East pilot 30-day suspensions without pay.

A handful, and you slap the face of thousands. Stick it Chip. I'm sure the management keeps you well informed.

Driver

Driver,

As an angry pilot would you care to identify your self? I bet you don't have the courage.

USA320Pilot

Yeah, I don't have a deal worked out with manangement that was leveraged on me after I was terminated for posting anti-management material.

I am only angry at people like you that take shots at hard working pilots that do it right and get it done EVERY day.

Driver...

Your comments above are misrepresenting information. If you have the courage send me a PM with your true identify. I bet you don't have the courage since you can insult and mislead people behind the confines of a computer.
