US Pilots Labor Discussion

AirTran must reinstate pilot who reported problems
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration on Tuesday ordered AirTran Airways to reinstate a former pilot who was fired after a sudden spike in the number of mechanical problems he reported.

The agency also is requiring the airline to pay more than $1 million to the pilot in back wages, plus interest and compensatory damages.

OSHA officials say an investigation found reasonable cause to believe the airline violated whistleblower protection laws when it terminated the pilot in 2007.

"Retaliating against a pilot for reporting mechanical malfunctions is not consistent with a company that values the safety of its workers and customers," said OSHA Assistant Secretary David Michaels.

What's your point 9-piece.

Are you planning on starting up a whistleblower campaign?

No the Nicolau is not a windfall. DOH is a complete destruction of my career. No contract can make up for that.
HOLD THAT THOUGHT, NAUGHLER "ON DECK"! http://www.delta-pilots.org/dpa-news/2012/1/9/twa-lawsuit-update-and-kitty-hawk-exposed.html

Why even consider such an outlandish question? USAPA cannot produce anything near what you describe. They have destroyed the credibility of this pilot group and it will take many years to regain it with the folks with whom they will negotiate. You can't ignore the crater left behind by Cleary and his gang nor can anyone who has failed to try and stop him avoid guilt by association.

Every pilot who sat there and watched the BPR rubber stamp Cleary's agenda and shook there head, but did nothing, is guilty and will pay the price with a substandard career going forward.

Is it still the best money you ever spent?

Unfortunately, that includes many West pilots, AOL, Ferguson and Move2.

The Nicolau was a winning lottery ticket. Even my neighbor who is a federal judge says that.

Your career expectations included a 757, max. That is all. Sorry, that is all you will ever get. If that.

Your scabs might be interested in China, hiring at $160,000 per year, min.

See here is the entire problem.

That is not my career expectation at all. That is YOUR idea of what my career expectation should have been.

My career expectation was much simpler. I expected that any pilot in a position and status ranking junior to mine would remain junior to me for the duration of my career, and any pilot with position and status senior to mine would remain senior to me for my career.

I am not going to be as bold, and try to tell you what your "career expectation" should be, but I will tell you that your desire to steal my position and leapfrogging my expectation is indicative of a person who had no expectation whatsoever, and has already reaped a windfall by avoiding the unemployment line at anothers expese.

Tell the judge he knows nothing of windfalls and lotteries, but he obviously knows how to placate a scab who forced West pilots to seek employment in China.

Heck, the west is the group who were handed east information from the executives and not the other way around.

BTW, your history is on the web. Enjoy.

If you don't have evidence that a specific pilot is a scab, they should not be called a scab. We know AWA employed some scabs, but the vast majority were not. We have a some pilots on our side that I would not like to be lumped in with.

That wasn't worded well. It sounds like I was buying it. Clear, absent evidence of that I will assume you are not.
Thanks. I know what you meant. Also class move for trying to get one of your own under control.

Surprise! I agree. Let's see what the courts say.

Now, a few months ago, I asked for the plan going forward. I don't remember any answers. So do you know of one? Let's say that Judge Silver rules in such a way that removes any chance of a DOH list. What do we do then? How do we repair the damage this pilot group has done to each other?

April 18, 2012 is when the newly elected officers take their positions. A lot depends upon who is elected into these offices.

If Judge Silver rules in the manner that you describe, I fully expect Cleary and USAPA to file an appeal (no one here will be surprised). While that is going on, the company can and may move forward IF USAPA doesn't balk at this gesture.

Plans? I guess I'm going to wait and see who is running for what office, and what communications & platforms they propose. This is where you will get specific planning information from the people that are running for office (vs. my pontifications).

I would encourage everyone that is able to vote to read and listen to ALL candidates. I will be happy to hear what Cleary, Mowery, Streble, et al have to say and offer. The East pilots should also do the same with any pilots that are PHX based (unless your vote is driven by sheer emotion), IMHO.

Your scabs might be interested in China, hiring at $160,000 per year, min. I hear, in addition to a $90,000 exclusion from fed tax and full health, you get a young person, your choice, to warm your bed. (They are a little short on guy bed warmers, so I can understand why your "friends" do not jump at the offering.)
The east career expectation was to look for another job because US Airways was going to liquidate. But even if you managed to survive. Only 90% of you also had the expectation of flying a 757 max. With 19 330/767 there was no way all of you were going to to fly anything bigger than a 757.

Just because you keep repeating this over and over and over.. does not make most of the EAST get on board and do what you want...

just like the election.

the first questions will be, what is your position on the NIC.

if they state they want to implement it, they lose..

simple as that.

If we change the union's name, the Nicolau will disappear! It's a supreme slam dunk! If we change the union's name, the Nicolau will disappear! It's a supreme slam dunk! One vote is all we get. You can vote no to a contract with the Nicolau until doomsday. In fact, your obstinance should garner our group at least DAL wages - provided LCC has figured out that he now will have to truly pay for a joint contract.

The east career expectation was to look for another job because US Airways was going to liquidate. ?
And you wonder why were going to give DUI DOUG the same response during the UNITED merger?, Your problem will be convinceing the "EAST" to give up their SCOPE and CHANGE OF CONTROL, NEVER HAPPEN! Your career expectations are looking more like the EAST"S past everyday! MM!

Neither are you...

I know who Clear is, and you are correct. All else being equall, and assumng the Nic, Clear would never make captain on anything larger than 757.

BTW, Clear had his captain class canceled because of the merger.

Yes, we all get it MM...usapa has been successful in taking the West's expectations and giving them to east pilots.

Kind of surprised you actually admit to that!!

Case on deck. Just another worthless prediction from you.

Minutes: Case called. All parties present. Oral argument held. The Court’s decision is reserved.
That is all the court said. No answer. No win.

As far as the DAL union. they have been stuck at 4000 of the 6000 required for months. They are going nowhere. I guess you did not hear. The DAL guys are using Seham. Yes the same Seham that usapa now hates and thinks is a terrible lawyer. Is Seham good enough to get DAL away from the evil clutches of ALPA or is an incompetent lawyer?

When are we going to hear about the Naugler case you have been leaning on for years?
