US Pilots Labor Discussion

Thanks,

Interesting that they forced a run off. So if I understand it correctly, previous McKee voters will switch to Hummel, and the top positions will probably go east. Verrrrrrry Sneeeeeeeeaaaakkkyyyyy.
The west won all positions in a democratic way, but being the scumbags they are they wrote the cbl so the west could never win, bastards

Great Job Eric and Jeff and Ken! This is very encouraging. I hope they continue to visit the east bases and engage them fully during the runoff. They will prove themselves worthy leaders and perhaps USAPA may yet have a chance. (Did I really say that?)

McKleary was Parker's man. He's gotta be cryin' in his beer. One of 'em anyhow.

Here are some of my thoughts post election:

1. About 40% of the pilots did not vote either due to apathy (above age 60 pilots) or non-members. That's a huge percentage of disinterested pilots.

2. If the ReformUSAPA de facto ticket had obtained about 1,500 votes for each candidate I believe they could win a "run-off" election, but the McKee, Dopp, and Borman votes will likely go to Hummel, Bradford, and Smyser.

3. If McKee had been elected I believe Cleary and Mowrey could have been appointed to the Merger Committee or NAC, but that appears unlikely now.

4. The election is going just like I predicted, which means "we're guaranteed no contract for a few years and litigation that likely will be appealed to the USSC," with two exceptions.

A.) I do believe Hummel will be honest. If Doug Parker provides the Officers with a contract offer of Delta + 1%, acceptance of the Nicolau Award to become part of Section 22, and the CoC clause is eliminated I believe Hummel and the BPR will let the pilots know and decide. How will they do that? By putting the company's offer out to vote without a recommendation, or

B.) The 3rd listers begin to replace the apathetic pilots and eventually join forces with the PHX-based and East coast-based anti USAPA pilots to gain control of the union, eliminate the C&BL DOH provision, and negotiate a contract that contains the Nicolau Award.

If you don't mind me asking. Were you Piedmont or PSA?

It is clear the tide is changing direction and will gain in velocity going forward.

Another point to consider is that the DJ lawsuit is proceeding towards conclusion. The Airline Parties could have a District Court decision this spring and then a Ninth Circuit Court decision before the end of the year. I expect the District Court to rule in AOLs favor and the Ninth Circuit to either not hear the case or rule on the case without oral argument also in AOLs favor. Then the pilots will finally be done with the SLI.
