US Pilots Labor Discussion

You're right, but you also can't fix anger, the individual has to do that and I see way too many people driven by that around here.

I did not vote for DOH, I voted for the candidates that I thought could lead us best going forward.
Unless you voted for the west slate, you voted for DOH. They ran on that and vowed to uphold it.

The difference between McKee and Hummel, as one of our own put it so well, was an iron fist versus a velvet glove when it came to DOH.

But DOH none the less.

And if you read crazy's post, you can see how this will end up if Hummel strays.

And don't get me started on Bradford and his constitutional "guarantees."

Makes sense to me. If we had a system of simple majority, the east probably would have found a way to come up with one candidate, sort of like the west did, in order to not split the vote. Then we would not have heard the view point of the other east candidates, and I think that input helped define the candidates.
You're joking! You're saying Cleary and Ciabattoni would have come together, hugged, and said lets find a candidate that represents both our interests?

Is that it?

I just crapped myself laughing at that very idea.

Yes, you get a point for that one. I believe the word we're looking for is plurality, not majority. We all know why that provision was put in there though.

No Beancounter, all of us don't know. You may know, if as you said Dave had full control on that issue, and he told you that is why he did it, then you know. I didn't know who did it, so all I can do is guess and lay odds. I can honestly say that I think it is a good idea, and for the reason I gave, not just to keep the west out.

Many people claim to "know" things on here. Some on the east "know" that the "west" is a bunch of snot nosed rookies. A bunch on the west "know" that the "east" are scabs, liars and thieves. Both are wrong.

It's a majority vote in every union, its just a matter of whether the election is directly by the membership or by a governing board. You seem to be in the weeds because you don't want to accept the majority still see some things a certain way. If you didn't have people elected by a majority you would make successful recalls a very easy thing and that would help a union function how?

Anyone else agree with that?

Didn't think so.

As for what I want? A modest pay raise, the Nic, better version of PBS, etc.

If you're looking for industry standard +1, you're dreaming.
Whenever one bargains for something, he should always start with a low offer if he is buying. When selling, he should start with a higher price but be willing to come down. Would you sell out your senior west brothers just to get the NIC?

You have to be reasonable when making the offer too! And you have to be able to walk away from said offer as well if the company says no.

USAPA asking for industry standard +1 is way out of its league and, thanks to McKee and your brothers, walking away from the table is not an option. The company keeps LOA 93 and its associated savings and you keep LOA 93 and its associated give-backs.

And our senior west brothers want the Nic as much as we do. And please don't lecture me about selling out one group over the other. Look at the planned pay scale you're soon to be elected velvet glove has up his sleeve. Kind of takes a dump on the lower end of the longevity scale.

What other crap you got?

No need to be jealous of LOA93, your pay raise is still years away.

Yep... Years away. I realized that the day the east left the negotiating table on their scab quest.

See, that is the difference between me and you. I have known all along usapa would be a complete failure, because failures such as yourself are its support.

Now back to election talk.

I say the first appeal filed against the results will be around Tuesday of next week? Any other guesses?

Yep.....still looks like we need better public education. Hang in there kid!

Those 63 year olds really need the NIC. Confirmed....you would sell them out. Thought so.

Just like your 63 year olds, ours don't care either.

You do realize that by the time a contract is negotiated and then implemented, those 63 year olds that you're so worried about will be long gone, right?

A little bit of common sense goes a long way there kid.

Hang in there moron.
