US Pilots Labor Discussion

You do see the shortcomings of that, as well as the other C&R's, for the west pilots I hope...

Jim

That would be why I said this: "although I think they are inadequate and I can't come up with any that iron out the shift in relative positions that come along with it. I don't know if anyone can."

Hey, most of them probably don't care Nic or Doh, but when you're financially holding their head's under water so you can screw the west, I gaaaaaruntee they're gonna get pissed.

Everybody is pissed about something but I don't see heads being slammed anywhere.

I like your self centered attitude....but I wouldn't call it winning. We are happy with it too......by the time you get your junior baby steps out of the way, we will all be retired. Sure it's LOA93 wages, but the PBGC monies on top make it more than you guys are making.

Smooth sailin'

There you are breeze!! I was wondering when you'd regale us with your ignorance and you have not disappointed!!!

You are happy with a bankruptcy era contract - BRILLIANT!!

"We wil all be retired" - Who is "we"? You and the mouse in your pocket? You forget the angry FO's and third listers that will be here long after your crotchety self is dust.

Talk about a self-centered attitude!!

And you're counting on PBGC money? Even more pathetic.

Smooth sailing indeed if that's your definition of smooth sailing. In the mean time, its a DEN commute for you under LOA93 - something it sounds like you enjoy doing.

Although not material to deciding the West Pilots’ summary judgment motion, it is worth noting that in a recent USAPA election, several West Pilots who are closely involved in the Army of Leonidas received the highest vote totals of all candidates running for the office at issue. Afshin Iranpour and Patrick O’Neill, for example, were elected to the USAPA Appeal Board. And Eric Fergusson, Jeff Koontz, and Ken Holmes will be in run-off elections for the offices of President, Vice President, and Executive Vice President, respectively. USAPA, Nat’l Officer & Appeal Bd. Election Results, (Feb. 23, 2012) (copy attached as Exhibit “A”).

Did I miss something?
USAPA wants to avoid resolving this on summary judgment and instead try to engage in more discovery and invoke a full trial. Both Leonidas and US Airways disagree and want to resolve this quickly on summary judgment (like Judge Silver happily ordered). USAPA’s obvious motive here is to drag this out and make it more expensive.

So, in support of USAPA’s baseless “we need more discovery” argument, it offers this as one of the following issues that needs to be discovered:

“efforts by certain West Pilots and the ‘Army of Leonidas’ to obstruct and frustrate USAPA in its efforts to work with all members of the bargaining unit in fulfillment of its role as the certified bargaining representative”

In response to this ridiculous claim, Dr. Jacob, in a footnote, informed the court:

Dr. Jacob also attached yesterday's election results as Exhibit "A" to the filing.

It's all better than accepting the NIC.

Next time try and post something with some substance instead of your adolescent jibber-jabber.

"Well Judge, it doesn't matter, but just to keep you up on current events, our boys did real good".

I'm sure in the interest of full disclosure Dr. Jacobs told the judge that amazingly the west had exactly the number of pilots running as slots available, while the east had approx. 3 times the number of east candidates for each office. For appeal board there were 3 west pilots for 3 slots, while there were 9 east pilots running for the 3 slots. In almost every category the east vs. west votes were around 2 to 1. I'm sure he did.

Why do they call him Dr. while he is acting as an attorney? Do they call Jeff First Officer in divorce court?

How many MIGS are there in PHX?

Once a doctor always a doctor.

And I wouldn't expect you or most easties to understand the significance of what was filed today. You guys don't keep up with much or you get your info from USAPPy.

Once a doctor always a doctor.
Dr Jacobs has a JD in law - Juris Doctorate. It's the equivalent of a PhD but in law, just as MD - Doctor of Medicine - is the equivalent of a PhD but in medicine. As such, he earned the title "Doctor" - twice. Unlike the title "Captain" for pilots, which depends on the ebb and flow of seniority and has nothing to do with the formal education level attained.
