US Pilots Labor Discussion

so much for all the retirments out east coming from the right seat.
New designation on the bid. The symbol ++ indicates a pilot to retire inside of 12 months.

32 East Captains and 8 East FO's.

attrition .... you have earned it.

So from December of this year to June 1 of 2012, there are 40 age 65 retirements. An average of just over 6 per month. Maybe that will finally kill all the dreaming of 200 and more retirements/year.

Of course, 2 of the captains within 12 months of 65 on this bid result are E190 captains - what I call FO's sitting in the left seat because of the pay. So 30 captain retirements in 6.5 months, or maybe 75 in a full year. Plus 20 FO retirements - over 25% of retirements from the right seat or E190 captain.

Or instead of waiting... Take the Nic, and let's ALL of us get a freaking pay raise like we deserve.

> Actually, around 20/month in 2013.

> If you run the numbers at the current rate of pay, a 190 capt working 90/month makes only 400 less per mo than a short call reserve 320 capt. Not much of a difference and I'd argue that having a block schedule versus being on call makes the 190 job the better deal.

So 30 captain retirements in 6.5 months, or maybe 75 in a full year. Plus 20 FO retirements - over 25% of retirements from the right seat or E190 captain.

>Statistics in percentages...especially with few actual numbers makes things look like you want them. Classic tactics of politicians everywhere. Day 1, Class 1, Stats 101: "There are lies, damn lies, and statistics......and they're all the same."

.......wait until the end of this year........200+ retirements is NO dream on the East, it will finally be reality after a 5 year setback ........

BTW, 15,000 plus posts.................

Or instead of waiting... Take DOH with C&R's, and let's ALL of us get a freaking pay raise like we deserve.
So what's stopping USAPA and the east majority from doing just that? You have had four years to achieve that victory but haven't even gotten past step one in the process. How many more years do you think you need to close out a single section of the contract?

Tell your buddies in Labor Relations to negotiate in good faith, for one.
It takes two to tango and the co. isn't interested in dancing.
Enjoy what you have because that's all there will be until a motivAAting event occurs.
Meanwhile, attrition on the east will give the opportunity for the 20+ year FO's to get their left seat.
No bump, no flush.
Cheers.

Understand what you read before commenting...

That ++ beside some names on the latest bid award means that pilot is retiring within 12 months of the bid effective date - before June 1, 2013. That's 6+ months of age 65 retirements. 40 retirements in what is a little over half a year doesn't equate to "200+ retirements is NO dream on the east." 40 retirements in 6+ months equates to ~75 in 12 months, 25% of which, based on the sample, are in the right seat or effectively in the right seat pay-wise.

I do and you obviously have ZERO life in retirement. Won't see me here when that day comes. LMAO!!!!!!!!!

Must suck, how much did you miss being able to stay when the age changed to 65? We are well aware of the retirement numbers on the East side. Keep trying to dilute it Jim...............

Gotta go to work now. Have a glorious retirement day here on this Web Board.......

NLG out.

As usual, can't refute the facts so insult the messenger. Given all the numbers thrown around for retirement, I'm not sure any east pilot is doing anything but guessing.

I did make a mistake and you didn't even catch it you read my post so closely. June 1, 2013 isn't 6 months into 2013 but rather 5 months. Throw in the part of this December and it's 40 retirements in 5+ months, not 6+ months.
