So from December of this year to June 1 of 2012, there are 40 age 65 retirements. An average of just over 6 per month. Maybe that will finally kill all the dreaming of 200 and more retirements/year.
> Actually, around 20/month in 2013.
Of course, 2 of the captains within 12 months of 65 on this bid result are E190 captains - what I call FO's sitting in the left seat because of the pay.
> If you run the numbers at the current rate of pay, a 190 capt working 90/month makes only 400 less per mo than a short call reserve 320 capt. Not much of a difference and I'd argue that having a block schedule versus being on call makes the 190 job the better deal.
So 30 captain retirements in 6.5 months, or maybe 75 in a full year. Plus 20 FO retirements - over 25% of retirements from the right seat or E190 captain.
>Statistics in percentages...especially with few actual numbers makes things look like you want them. Classic tactics of politicians everywhere. Day 1, Class 1, Stats 101: "There are lies, damn lies, and statistics......and they're all the same."
