There you have it. Clear is right. You are making excuses. If things were as you described (and I believe they were) you were a fool not to seek changes. I am now 54 and thoroughly sick of things as they are. Seeking my own changes (up to and including applying to medical school)
Don't hide behind your age, quit whining.
That sounds great, I'm sure you will make a great doctor. Good luck with that medical school application, assuming you can even get one to take you seriously, it shouldn't take you too long to get through any organic chemistry and biology refresher courses to be able to pass the MCAT. Then there's that pesky 3-4 years in med school, followed by a few years of residency, followed by a few more in whatever you decide to specialize in. If all goes well you should be hanging out your shingle and starting to build a practice by your mid 60's and none too soon either, because you are going to have one hell of a student loan to start paying back!
