US Pilots Labor Discussion

There you have it. Clear is right. You are making excuses. If things were as you described (and I believe they were) you were a fool not to seek changes. I am now 54 and thoroughly sick of things as they are. Seeking my own changes (up to and including applying to medical school)

Don't hide behind your age, quit whining.

That sounds great, I'm sure you will make a great doctor. Good luck with that medical school application, assuming you can even get one to take you seriously, it shouldn't take you too long to get through any organic chemistry and biology refresher courses to be able to pass the MCAT. Then there's that pesky 3-4 years in med school, followed by a few years of residency, followed by a few more in whatever you decide to specialize in. If all goes well you should be hanging out your shingle and starting to build a practice by your mid 60's and none too soon either, because you are going to have one hell of a student loan to start paying back!

Good luck with that.

A 10% raise "soon" huh? Is that the latest false hope? as per usual...good luck

False hope is better than no hope, which is what we got waiting for a decent contract from Team Tempe, under any circumstances.

They will get the Nic either way. Hummel or Ferguson. When this gets to the Supreme Court I think justices Roberts, Scalia, Thomas, Alito or Kennedy will give the 9th the smack-down they deserve. They also have to worry about another desert judge. Their scemes will be exposed and hopefully there will be damages awarded. Someone else will be paying for my titanium ring I wear on my middle finger.
The SCOTUS doesn't give a sh#t about you, or your job. That is a laughable concept.
You have way too big of an opinion of yourself.

Kinda like your avatar. A fantasy

Tell you what "newbie" PM me and I'll bet you a hundred dollars that I was bagging my first night trap on the USS Kitty Hawk while you were riding your bicycle to grade school!

Screw you youngster! That's easy for you to say. Fact of the matter is, it didn't take me 17 years to be a junior F/O. At 15 years I was a fairly senior F/O making about $150,000.00 dollars a year as a 767 F/O. I won't belabor the reasons why that all went away, or maybe I should because you probably weren't even around when it all hit the fan. The fact of the matter is that at the age of 54, I woke up to find myself barely holding on to a job with this piece of crap airline. Quit and go find another job, for us old guys, that was not and still is not an option. Better yet, why don't you take your young ass down to the next airline job fair and offer them your services for the next 25 years or so, I and many others don't have that option!

I tell you what I do consider an option, full pay to the last day (as little as it may have turned out to be, and no I did not vote for LOA93) and I will not vote to have that nice young man ahead of me on the NIC step in to my job while still on probation as a new hire, who will be here for 22 YEARS after I am gone, if I manage to stay till 65.

You guys can piss and moan all you want but here is something you can take to the bank, NOTHING good ever lasts at USEless Airways, except the pain. Get used to it and don't hold your breath waiting for any kind of a decent contract out of Team Tempe, regardless of how this SLI mess eventually works out.

Have a nice day.

Relax dude. Looks like I really struck a nerve. That usually means I hit the truth.

I don't care what you used to have. The reality was at 17 years you were the bottom of the seniority list. That is quite a tumble to go from $150,000 at 15 year to barely holding at 17 years. That should have been a huge f'ing clue to look for another job. If you were to old or bitter to get hired someplace else. That is to bad and not the west fault.

News flash, you don't get a vote on the seniority list. You get a vote on a contract. It is going to include the Nicolau. You are not going to have a choice on that.

One last thing. Pretty weak threat that "full pay to the last day". You can scream that all you want but you and your weak ass group have never followed through. How many times did you take less? RA, LOA 84, LOA 93. Full pay to the last day why didn't you stand up in 2001 when you were younger and had a chance to go somewhere else. Oh that's right you are old and can't get a job anywhere else. Well good luck with that now that you are even older and more bitter.

BTW if nothing good ever comes from useless airways why have you stayed so long? unable to get a job anywhere else I guess or just to ignorant to leave. Seems like you are having a bad day or several years. That's up to you but you seem to wallow in it.

You must be having a bad week man. Living in the distant past. All that means is that you are an old guy at the bottom of the list at a crap airline. You should have looked for that new job in 2001.

Thanks for your service but it has NOTHING to do with what is going on today.

News flash......Nic still not used......still separate lists........no contract for years.......apply to UA and I bet they will give you relative position!

Lighten up Fancis. I'll bet you put your pants on one leg at a time, don't you? I don't have the time to stroke your ego, about the Kitty Hawk, lunar landings or whatever. I got an earful from your Hudson heroes at the Addington trial.

I'm not impressed. Go find someone who is. Try the mirror

OK, I'm going to try this "one more time". We do get to "vote" on seniority, I get to decide if I want to give mine to you for the hand full of "magic beans" that Team Tempe might get around to offering me someday.

I NEVER voted for anything ALPA EVER "allowed" me to voice an opinion on, including LOA93.

Well I tried to get another airline job after 911, but the only job offer I got was from America West, so I took the part time job as a piano player in a whore house, so as to keep my self respect instead. It's one thing to work around prostitutes, it's quite another to be one.

Don't bother "thanking " me for my service, the Navy does that for me with a nice retirement check.

Well congratulations, that means you must be a "young" guy at the bottom of the list at a crap airline! As such, YOU should be the one out there looking for a new job.

So you're not easily impressed! Doesn't surprise me, after all, you're the one who took the job with America West! Kind of reminds me of the three biggest lies in Naval Aviation; The checks in the mail, I promise to use a condom and I could have flown fighters but I chose P-3's instead. Right!

Keep being impressed with your miserable lot in life, too bad you turned down that job with a real airline.

I would like to know who is the FO on reserve that is "to become a captain" and the senior FO "to get knocked down to reserve because of the merger"?

Even if I could post names, I'm not going to write a post with hundreds of names on it. People have already posted examples on here with seniority numbers and you guys still don't get it. Time of merger, AWA senior captain 20 years, US reserve FO 18 years. DOH/LOS = Ka Chunk! (sound of staple gun).

Well I guess the F-15 and A10 pilots in my AWA new hire class just weren't as cool as a Navy pilot. When I got hired at AWA, it's like US now, no one else was/is hiring and it was/is actually competitive to get on. I know they're not as exciting as a fighter, but what's wrong with flying P-3's? I've got another question. How on earth did they ever get that canopy to close over your swelled head?
