US Pilots Labor Discussion

That's kinda funny you say that because last week before we left CLT for PHX, an agent gave me a big bag of Bojangles to take to PHX were someone would meet our flight. Seems the desert folk like the greasy stuff too! Frankly, I tried it and prefer another southern favorite, Chic-Fil-A!
It was for a CLT crew that was overnighting in PHX.

That couldn't go a day without the greasy chicken.

The courts got it right in 1990 and I'm guessing they'll do it again.

We need not decide whether, if the plaintiffs and their allies ever succeed in ousting ALPA in favor of a union not pledged to defend the arbitrators' award, the matter of seniority can be reopened in collective bargaining negotiations with the airline, or otherwise revisited. The plaintiffs say the award became a provision of the collective bargaining agreement and expired when that agreement expired. We leave aside the merit of this contention beyond noting that an attempt by a majority of the employees in a collective bargaining unit to gang up against a minority of employees in the fashion apparently envisaged by the plaintiffs could itself be thought a violation of the duty of fair representation by the union that the majority used as its tool.

Two points:

1) Yes, we have some wonderful individuals on the west that fly extra while we have pilots on furlough. I'd say what I really think about them, but it would just get censored out anyway.

2) If you east pilots can't be bothered to read our contract and see what we have in it, then at least for the love of all that's holy, let some west pilots on the NAC so we don't give it all away. I don't think the west contract as a whole is close to being industry leading, but we do have some areas in there that are the best in the industry. When the courts settle the seniority issue, how about we get the best of both contracts, plus some?

Even if some west pilot did end up on the negotiating committee, what's to keep them from quitting like the last ones? I don't know all the details except they quit.

In the intrest of full disclosure.

1. it was not 177,931 it was 172,931 some 5k less.
2. The 173k includes his per diem and he is on the 757 and gets a couple overrides.
3. It also includes his profit sharing (4125) and triple play money, although the triple play money is offset by his distance learning repayment to the company thanks to TP and usapa.
4. He flew some trips with incentive pay. i.e. he picked up red flagged trips that pay 150%, or was re-routed and payed a 150% override.
5. He is indeed what we on the West call a time whore. He averaged 95 hours pay per month. He likely actually flew an average of 83-85 hours per month.

At least some truth. And not smoke and mirrors
Thanks

That was a VERY long time ago, but as I remember it, it was more a case of being in the 4th quarter and the MEC decided to switch the game from basketball to football. No too much transfers in a situation like that, so the players had to change too. At least that's how I remember it.

However, the difference is that the west LEARNS from their mistakes so as not repeat them. The east rededicates itself to perfecting the mistake, no matter how many times it must be repeated.

Somebody famous (Einstein???) once said That the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. Thinking this applies to both sides,

Parker pretty much sums it up.

then click on Event Video, then Check Airmen/USAPA Disparaging Remarks

Isom also throws in a few hits at USAPA as well.

USAPA has no friends.

Yes, it was AE.

And how, pray tell, would this apply to the west?

To be brutally candid I think there is more then enough blame to go around. Both sides have dug in ad refuse to budge from their positions. A sure fire definition of Insanity.

If DP and his gang are displeased with USAPA then IMO they must be doing something right.

This whole debacle points out that once you get lawyers involved you end up exactly where you are. Sadly the courts will likely have the final say.

So if you followed your end of a bargain, did exactly what you were supposed to do, followed all the rules, you would be wrong for digging in your heels because you expected the same from the other side?

Is that how you work. If one party doesn't like the outcome, you give in to their demands and alter the agreement until they're happy?

Did I get that right?

What you have? you prick, you have our jobs, jobs that have become available since the merger. You scab, what do you call it when west pilots employed date of merger are furloughed while you have new hires? you scab.

At your finest still fodase!!! Idiots, pricks, scabs. Yep got em covered.........hey, wait!!!!! Where'd the "clowns" go
