US Pilots Labor Discussion

My experience in corporate America was the employee with 17 years had a better parking space than the guy who just got hired last week.
LOL - that is really a hoot. Please provide one company in "corporate America" that assigns parking spaces to rank and file employees based on DOH. Parking spaces may be assigned to executives and officers based on their position with the company regardless of how long they may have been with the firm. Where do you think the new hire CEO parks in relation to the 25-year AP clerk?

Any example from your vast "corporate America" experience will do.

"...all of AirCal's 456 pilots, 506 flight attendants and 450 reservation agents will be offered comparable jobs at equivalent or better pay..."
This is a perfect quote. Sounds a lot like slotting to me. Not a bad deal. Comparable job. Better pay. If US had liquidated, the east would not have been treated so well. They would get new hire jobs at new hire pay.

Art had asked what a merger would look like if there were no unions. This probably sums it up pretty well.

So the "gold standard" of "fairness" demanded by USAPA can be used to screw the other side. Thanks for clearing that up.

Bravo! You beat me to the punch. Funny how the east position turns in any direction in order to support their delusions and justify any and all actions.

DOH is the only fair way, period! (Oh, except when AA used it to screw someone, or if it's used to screw me.)

UA pilots are using the 747 to screw the CO pilots. (But wait, if we merge with UA we want to use the A330 to screw the UA pilots out of their 777 seats.)

AOL is law-suit-happy! They are wasting everyone's time and money. (Wait, lets file some more lawsuits because I received some mailing I didn't want to read.)

Wah! Wah! Wah! That's all it ever is with you guys.

Whoaaa Metro! The thoughts of forcing will on a stray dog. Where did that thought even come from? Is that something anybody would even want to consider? This is getting stranger by the post.

Yo metro.....are you nearing meltdown??. Head to the nearest bar and knock down a few. Clear you head man
Stray dog indeed!!!!!

Actually, I thought it was a pretty appropriate analogy.

And what union do the East pilots have to thank for that?
Um, perhaps you missed the facts, or your "husband" never explained it to you, but the damage you refer to over the years was done by USAirways and your "husband's" fellow pilots. US ALPA was made up exclusively of your very own pilots. ALPA national didn't hold a gun to their head. ALPA national didn't assign your union's positions. They were voted in by your very own pilots. All ALPA national did was provide the resources and support to govern yourselves. The mess you created was your own. Just because they gave you the rope doesn't make them responsible for making a noose and putting over your head.

News Flash... It's the same clowns running your new union. Who are you going to blame this time?

Pay-ALPA contract. Retirement-ALPA in the middle of the night, no member vote, work rules? you got it, a perfect ALPA Trifecta. USAPA had nothing to do with any of it except turn it around. That is why you are the member of the proud group of USAPA! West DC Plan? USAPA . West profit sharing? USAPA. Nice Try!
It amazes me that you guys can NEVER accept responsibility for your own actions. Everything is always some else's fault.

Pay - US pilots / bankruptcy court
Retirement - US pilots / bankruptcy court
LOA93 - US pilots

ALPA gives you the support and structure to govern yourselves, and even gives you the ability to effect change on a national level through elections and representation, yet you want to blame everyone else for the result of your action/inaction/complacency.

And you wonder why you are the laughing stock.

Different circus - same clowns.

Well, when you only have underground basement parking for 200 but have a 1000 workforce that meant 800 of us had to park across the street - above ground. Not the best in New England during the winter I might add.

The management felt first come first served was the fair way to go so the swipe cards to the basement were strictly monitored by security. As the golden 200 left then the cards would trickle down.

Sure, there was always someone who felt better than the rest trying the 'bottle of scotch' route. We all knew who they were.

Shhhhhhh don't tell the other workgroups, F/a's etc.
Great to hear your trading in your pilot wings for f/a wings.

Are you really that clueless as to believe that f/a or any other work group integration method has any relevance on pilot integrations?

Talk about grabbing at straws. No one's buying it.

ALPA "support"......Yeah and that's exactly why we launched ALPA..........

Great. It's settled then. You can have the front row parking. As long as you carry the west captain's bags to the airplane. (You old guys deserve a shorter walk anyways)

Ah, so this is a local US Airways example? That's a bit different than the generic "corporate America" reference you made earlier. So let me ask you this...did the guy with the oldest DOH in say CLT park closer than the guys in PHL, BOS, PIT, DCA, etc. simply because "corporate America" was intent on shuffling parking spaces for each employee because they had this overwhelming sense that "fairness" equals the best parking space for those with the greatest DOH? Is that how it worked right up to the point where the NIC award was published when the world was turned upside down for the east?

Apparently you can't ague with the facts.

Hey, if you feel you are not getting the support you need from national, it's your prerogative to walk. This is America. Seeeeee ya! But you can't escape accountability by blaming everyone else. You are the only ones to blame for the mess you created. You make your bed. You sleep in it. Period.

Shhhhhhh don't tell the other workgroups, F/a's etc. On another note goin to south fl FLL area is anybody know if the WX is good for fishn today! MM!

Don't worry, its OK for them to hear it. They actually had a union when the merger was announced.

Ah, so this is a local US Airways example?

It has nothing to do with US Airways.

Another place I worked ( also not as a pilot ) the guy with 20 years had a better office than I did with only 1 yet we were the exact corporate grade.

Funny huh?
