US Pilots Labor Discussion

We gave up the same concessions as every other group. Our paycuts were actually longer cause we got screwed. And ask anyone mtc, utility or FAs, there were plenty of pilots cleaning planes, go ask Al Hemenway who had to authorize the grievances to be paid.

Not proof. Didn't happen. I don't need to ask anybody. I was there.

Sure you were, on every flight and worked labor relations too right?

GO ask Hemenway, he was there, and he is now VP of Labor Relations.

More urban legends, no one sabotaged anything, and stick to the facts that pilots performed struck work, and your facts are totally distorted on the events that took place. Address the issue, dont deflect and throw out mistruths.

Here is another fact that is not urban legend. Ladies and gentleman. When is the last time you went through security and saw an airplane cleaner, baggage handler, fueler, gate agent, the people that wand your airplane into the gate, the ones that bring food and drinks on the airplane, etc, etc. going through a security line. They do not. They bypass security through the underground bowels of the airplane terminal. No metal detector and no body scan.

The TSA announces that the pilots and flight attendants that have unlimited access to the airplane you are physically on during your flight, may not have to go through security after the first of the year. Am I missing something here?

Still not proof, Still didn't happen.

It's pretty incompetent to debate if you can't provide your own proof. I don't have to call anybody. YOU DO.
Then, print his exact quote here. I'm still not sure I'll believe you.

True, even after an agent carried a gun into the PHL terminal in a backpack and exchanged it for a passenger's bag ON THE AIRPLANE. If an astute passenger hadn't said something, they would have gotten away with it. To my knowledge, procedures have not changed for terminal access.

Gee kinda like the pilot that shot the plane inflight?

And at certain airports TSA is behind the doors where employees access the ramp and screen employees.

Hey, bucko. You're the one on the PILOT discussion board. If you don't want to hear the Pilots' perspective, go back to the IAM board.

I assure you, I was there. I remember it very well. The "scope" BS you talked about was keeping licensed mechanics on ALL pushbacks. I also recall that the settlement involved keeping the IAM on pushbacks at the MX stations, but allowing utility to do it where there was no Mx.

Those concessions you talk about were MUCH later, in the 2001-2002 timeframe, when things got really bad.
The reason utility was doing pushbacks is because your union took them into your union for one thing MONEY.It turned around and bit

you. By the way I flew through that period and never got paid for not flying .

I don't recall the IAM asking ALPA to support your strike.

Question for you: Did they?

I was educated with the idea that all trade unionists within a company respected each others right to strike and support each

other and not stab each other in the back.

Please provide proof of your accusations. You claim the pilots were cleaning airplanes, this is impossible because they have no training in the duty that you are describing and are not licensed by the FAA to do such duties.

Besides, how could you know when you were busy inside the bowels of the baggage area defecating in passenger bags.

I guess with that said, pilots live in sloppy homes?

YOU PROVE YOUR ALLEGATIONS. YOU MADE 'EM, NOW PROVE 'EM. YOU CAN'T BECAUSE IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. I never even saw a company letter or email or anything at all about pilots cleaning airplanes.

I do remember that even after your strike, the IAM came out way ahead, while ALL the other labor groups gave up concessions to help the company at the time.

Kindly explain ' way ahead '....for some strange reason, I didn't notice.

There is a hugh difference between a free NY Times and cleaning the aircraft.
