Doug doesn't have them over a barrel. Soon they will school him, they just had to school the west guys first. It won't take them long with Doug, now that they've outmanuevered the west guys.

Really?

Don't count your chickens before your eggs hatch.

Judge Silver has it in her control, usapa will have their lunch handed to them, just like what has been going on for the past years. usapa hasnt gained anything for the pilot group.

Challenged folks sometimes have a problem with sarcasm.

700, I think even the west pilots got what was going on when Parker said "This is for you guys to decide...." Hmmmmm. I wonder what that means? The minute USAPA was elected Parker got a brief and he has know yrs. ago what was coming down. Judge Silver is a minor delay, and what is she really going to do after the 9th ruled? Rule and then immediately get hit by the 9th like Wake did?I say there isn't even a ruling. There is NOTHING to rule on. She will simply make a statement, and it WILL reference the 9th. Nothing more. You can't be serious you can't figure this out! Oh by the way, when they hand the lunch out? I'll take the steak..... 😀

If Parker really thinks that, then why would he waste the company's money and go to court to get a DJ on the issue?

Because his real goal is to maintain the status quo for as long as he can. He acknowledged that the only reason LCC is making money is because of the artificially low labor rates. The longer he can drag it out, the better.

Waste money? When you delay two employee groups off on a contract where he knows he is going to be paying a lot more, it certainly isn't a waste of money.

I think the folks in the sandcastle saw this thing rapidly coming to a conclusion when the ninth ruled, and had to do something to keep the profits rolling in or they might lose their huge bonusses. Filing a frivolous lawsuit probably seemed like the quickest, surest way to drag it out for at least a few more years.

I'm expecting that if the East Pilots win the LOA 93 thing (still a big "IF"), that management will immediately plead poverty, threaten to park airplanes, cut back on international flying (since that would affect the East Pilots more than the West), and threaten more furloughs reaching deep into the list.

Brace for impact. I just hope USAPA has bigger balls than ALPA did. ALPA would have just "rolled over" and given them everything and more. Then the company would have done it all anyway.

Look in the mirror, you were ALPA, it wasnt your MEC who ratified concessions, it was the rank and file pilots, and your group hasnt voted down a concessionary contract in the past 20 years.

Winning the snap back would unleesh a #### storm like we've never seen yet. Actually getting it might be another story, that's when the shitstorm starts. Nic what? Contract what?

Agreed. No doubt about this one. We'll hear threats that equal or exceed anything we've heard in the past.

But you know what? I don't think most East guys will blink. We've heard it all before. Then the CEO and VPs walk away with BILLIONS in bonusses and golden parachutes. Actually, most of us have seen it several times.

Not true in all cases. The pension was given away WITHOUT a rank and file vote. And that was HUGE. Probably for most folks it was the single biggest reason to get ALPA off the property. For some, it was second to the Nic award travesty.

If there's one thing that ALPA was really good at, it was scaring and dividing the pilots into accepting concessions.

Yeah, Salman Rushdie knows how to hide after publishing something controversial. The arbitrator may have delayed his decision because Salman hasn't returned his calls yet.

Doug said the nic list was a disputed list...........he just wants a list that is not in dispute.
Did any of the simple-minded, tunnel visioned posters here consider that once the courts are done, the Nicolau list may no longer be disputed?

Parker does not want to be on the hook for any liability. (ie: he wants an undisputed list.)

This is far from over. In the mean time, feel free to continue to interpret things the way it suits you. In the end the opinions on this bord will not change the outcome either way.
