2015 Fleet Service thread

I understand that the UA Mechanic and Related LBFO stipulates that all wide body MRO is to be outsourced. If true, that's a ton of work, correct? I mean, that's a complete sell-out. Also, UA's chart states that the health insurance has a max family deductible of between $0 to $300, but the employees cost share is 20% of the total cost. Plans with deductibles that low typically have very high premiums. The chart didn't show the premiums. Probably for a reason. Also, I hear they can outsource the auto mechanics too. Sell-out of the unborn as well who get less vacation. Also, full retro would have equaled $135 million. The LBFO has an $80 million signing bonus. That's a pretty hefty loss. Also, no IBT pension plan as they promised during the election in 2008. I mean that's not surprising since they also promised to get the UA AMTs their UA pension back. Let's see if they bite on the wage and forget everything else.

There is a forum strictly for mechanics. Please use it, and not the fleet forum.

I'm hearing reconciliation is complete on Fleets side and they are waiting on Mechanics and Related to wrap it up.
Also heard that there is a back wall for the mechanics to do so and if the time frame is not met Fleet will approach the company soon.
Treat as rumor until one of those scarce updates appear. A negotiators brothers long lost cousin told this to me while we watched the Sooners destroy Texas Tech.

When will they finish that Boomer Sooner song?

Hook 'em!

talked to a couple of people on the maintenance committee. they are ready to go its the intl on both sides that are holding it up.they did admit that up to the last week of negotiations the iam reps did start to show some urgency. prior to that the iam negotiating committee did not appear to be in any rush. one mechanic i spoke to actually talked to sito at the iam and he claimed that we would be in negotiations within two weeks. there is a facebook page twu iam association the iam is sensitive to comments on it. the twu well they really dont care about comments phone calls or emails. they just dont bother returning or answering anything they kind of like to keep their head in the sand. that two week timeline expires on Monday November 2nd. take it for whats its worth. i did call the iam and talked to Sitos assistant and they know we out number them 3-1 and that to bring anything back that would piss us off would be a no vote.
thats the maintenance side dont know about fleet.

Ok Monday morning. October 26. Word is that Maintenance has finished their reconciliation and Fleet was pretty much done as well. Have to admit that I'd like to read an update today letting us know if the company has been contacted and meetings are either scheduled or being arranged?

We also know from a negotiating team member update that the company wants to work on groups of articles at a time and not do just one here, one there. Parker did say that it was good that the Association took the time to prepare. Yes that's good because we go in with a clear framework for what we're asking for and that should make the process that much quicker.

A lot of dominoes have now fallen into place and we know what the company basically wants and the direction the industry is "trying" to head in.

As another poster on this page has so clearly stated before.

It's time to "Lock and Load"

Understood. Try to find time to post. IMO... negotiations will be different this time around. Money, up front on the table, but it becomes cost neutral for the company, with concessions in other areas or articles of the agreement. Increased wages for increased Health Care contributions. This is where the negotiating committee and the membership must realize we are not in negotiations with a bankrupt carrier. Cost neutral is for carriers not projected to reap future billions in profit. There should be no concessions. There should be no sympathy to remain cost neutral. We want our share of the future pie! I respectfully ask fellow posters to weigh in.

best post I have seen on here.

The Teamsters or the SEIU are the two best bets?
oh duh on the IBT. I keep forgetting they aren't AFL/CIO

who is SEIU?

Service Employees International Union.

Mostly healthcare workers, but SEIU32BJ has been very involved with advocating for airport workers & vendors...

A few things gotta fall into place for myself or most to consider another union at united. I dont think the majority of uniteds iam workforce will tolerate the new pres who negotiated ta2, if there remains status quo after february or june. Id do all i can to help if klemm gets elected as prez.

regards,

Sure W, those of us you refer to who need to relax, would, if the negotiators would ever do their job (i.e. meet more than once a month). And exactly when is the Fleet deal makers meeting again, maybe I missed the update.  (that's a mellow gif by the way)
Yeah  you missed the update it said they will be meeting soon. Each week we lose around $200 so relax. Some people out there dont mind driving around in a 20 year old car.
