AFA labor discussion (Work related)

Oh seriously, (and I won't engage further on this subject)! For the record, prior to being elected, I flew between 105 and 110 hours per month. I knew when taking this position, it would be a pay cut for me as there is no per diem and my pay is a flat 105 including my "A" pay (I've been bidding and holding "A" for the past 15 yrs). I do not take International pay or International lead pay merely due to the fact I don't bid (HNL or SJO) and don't have a history of working those trips.

Lisa is paid 105 without "A" pay since she does not have a history of bidding only the "A" position.

So before you go slinging inaccurate information, it might be a good idea to contact us at the MEC Office in PHX if you want to know how we (at Council 66) are paid.

And for the record......anyone that wants to drag out the negotiations process should have a mental health check. There's nothing, I mean nothing enjoyable about this process. Flying the line at 110 hours a month as a commuter, is a cake walk compared to negotiations.Again, this will be the last I post for awhile as not to get dragged into a cyber battle on a public discussion board.

Flight attendants are fed up with the crap being dished and won't stand for it anymore. AFA international has allowed this jackass circus to go on with the butchering of the signatures collected to recall this JNC. Yeah? Well that's fine and good as the petition to recall the local office in Philadelphia is well on it's way and will be wiped out pretty fast. The local level is where it happens folks. Your LECP keeps Mike and Carol in office. Well when the local 70 is wiped out and Ann is out of CLT Mike and Carol can count their days. We WILL NOT sit and wait for the JNC to negotiate further concessions for us. Not gonna happen. I know Mike is cautiously watching as he knows the seriousness of members being pissed is well on the rise. John in Local 70 is convinced he won't be recalled while Grace his bulldog has dilusions of grandure that she will be crowned queen of Philadelphia. I got new for you honey, many don't like you and your unprofessional ways. She has no idea how to even conduct a meeting and wants to be President? Brian Morgan who modeled a suit and we hear from twice a year from "the hanger"? Give me a G'damn break! ! ! The union is being taken back and it won't be by MORE clowns. I'm so sick and tired of the BS and can't wait to see some change. It IS happening. :up:
 
YEP....sure do. Not that John or Ann would 'vote' her in but Terry Graf could negotiate circles around the monkeys in there now. Disagree?
Is Terry Graf still around? And is she willing to step up to the Plate?

The NEW petition to recall is underway and the signatures ARE THERE. More signatures will be collected than needed and like Santa the list will be checked TWICE just to make sure EVERYONE on the list is in good standing and not duplicated. Say what you will but this time around a difference WILL be made. Sit back and watch the floor fall out from beneath you. :lol: Oh and as for the "LET THEM" comment..... We have let them negotiate for five years and look what has been produced. Please. 🙄

Again, as I have said before. Who is going to step up to the plate and take the job? Are you?
 
Certainly not. Ya see, though I may not be capable of negotiating on behalf of my fellow members I can tell when the JNC can't either. I can't run a country but cast my vote for whom I believe could. I wouldn't vote Mike or Carol to head my local PTA. Terry Graf would be a shoe in for the job BUT....do you think the current LEC's would vote her in? Hardly as they find her a threat due to her infinite knowledge and true passion she carries. John and certainly Anne couldn't hold a candle to Terry. We have given the current JNC five years and they have negotiated a concessionary contract. The current JNC does NOT have the members best interest at heart. THAT is a big problem for many of us.
 
Okay, now this is the reason I don't like to post on these boards. First off, I would suggest you take a breath and think twice before you decide to take that tone with me and bite my head off. Definitely think twice before you decide to call me names. My gosh, we are suppose to be professionals.

What I can tell you is Lisa and I are fighting like hell to get the company to take our cost containments from the West insurance. Our insurance costs are very low.

Vacation, the JNC is solid on this issue. West vacation with improvements in each area.

As far as the scheduling stuff, I'm going to leave that to the road shows when the entire TA can be discussed and debated. I will not get into a debate on a public discussion board. It does no good except to give those in management some entertainment value.

I will ask what I ask our members in the West. Read the TA as a whole. If you don't like it vote no. If it has enough "bells and whistles" along with the a compensation package that addresses your individual needs, then vote yes.

Deborah, we all understand that you are the VP of council 66 and we all know that you are on the JNC.. While we do appreciate the attempt that you have given I would like to know is why you feel that you should even be negotiating the current contract. What experience do you have negotiating a F/A contract? Have you ever negotiated a F/A contract before? We should have professional negotiators handling the negotiations. The JNC is no more educated nor experienced in handling contract negotiations than a man on the moon. We are being laughed at by the company. The contract is nothing more than a concessionary one. We will not settle for that.
It is amazing to me that you would put your comments out on forums or anywhere else and feel that no one should comment , question or show their discontent with what is being negotiated. You are talking down to us the same way that MF does and NO ONE appreciates that. So come back down to reality and realize that the F/A group is not happy with the job that is being done. We will voice our dissatification and continue to voice it as long as the JNC is not listening to the F/A group. So take a deep breath and listen to what we are saying and do not take it as a personal attack on your character. We do appreciate you as a MEC VP, but we just do not feel that you have the experience to be negotiating our next F/A contract.
 
While I appreciate Deborah's brass balls for coming on here and putting her name to a post I doubt we'll hear much more from her. You see, I'd bet my first born that Daddy Flores put a hurtin' on her after finding out she posted here and relinquished information to the peons and trouble starters . Couple that with the fact that she basically got a spanking from a few posters here for the rubbish she posted. If her posts aren't a clear indication of the JNC's disconnect we need to clean the glasses. Like I said in an earlier post, "starting on the local level the change demanded WILL come." 😉

Thank you for attempting to explain a part of the proposed scheduling system. I also feel that it is pretty gutsy to come here unmasked.

However.

The reason you're getting the incredulously dismayed responses is because somehow, the JNC has completely missed that F/As have read these proposed systems and DO NOT APPROVE.

Instead of putting on the brakes, doing a poll and going back to the company with the new information and a reviewed focus, i.e. RE_OPEN the offending sections, which seem to be concentrated in scheduling and reserve, the JNC is ignoring the membership and going full speed ahead. Is it any wonder that F/As are screaming and doing petitions? What exactly does it take to get y'all's attention?

Why the resistance to going back to the company and saying "sorry, this isn't going to fly, we gotta do it over?" Admitting a wrong is better than trying to slap more crap over it in attempts to fix it.

PBS is a no go.
Reserve "based on scheduling's judgment" is a WICKEDLY COMPLETE NO GO.

Fix it. That's what we're asking. Don't waste five years work. We do respect your efforts, however somewhere you guys got off track. For heaven's sake, admit it, do a poll and fix it.

Don't saddle us with a bad agreement for another set of years. Hell, most of my career has been ruined by this bankruptcy mess.

Either fix it or walk away and let someone else fix it.

Please.
 
What a great post Galley Princess. The only problem though is we'll never see the JNC admit they went down a wrong path and the brakes on the train failed so they kept on going. I honestly don't know who it's harder for to admit a mistake, the company or the JNC. Honestly! ! ! 🙄
 
Someone asked where is Terry Graf here in the sand box. Patience my friends in due time .I have never seen the information be spewed so foolishly but then again what will we tell the gatekeepers. There was a time which I owned and am wiser for that the behavior and knowledge I spewed were hurtful and today I have grown 42 years and still loving the JOB................................
