AFA labor discussion (Work related)

Well, that was D. Volpe at it again. She'll pop loose at some point on here trying to explain herself....jeez <_<

What does she need to explain. The letter was well written and set the record straight that the west AFA, while believeing safety is paramount, they do not
support the tactics that USAPA have set in motion.

Nice to know and I know that you didn't mean it the wrong way, but A SENIOR PERSON SHOULD CARE ABOUT THE RESERVE SYSTEM...WE ARE THEIR FELLOW UNION BROTHERS AND SISTERS....WE ARE A PART OF THE F/A UNION....WE PAY OUR DUES AND WE NEED THEIR SUPPORT!

I can not speak for all of the "Senior" people... I don't know were I fall in the term senior... but, with an 83 f/a hire date... I do have much compassion for our reserves.
They have been on reserve for way too long. I feel sorry for the ones who have been there. But don't put all of us old ones in the same category. (please?)

I have not read the letter in it's entirety. Just the little blurb that's on here. I don't know where to find it either. I can only assume it's for the west f/a's eyes only.

If possible, post us a link.

Isn't she the same individual that wrote the article commenting on the status of F/A negotiations (or lack thereof) and was quoted "The blame lies with the EAST pilots and USAPA for AFA's inability to obtain a contract for the F/As on the WEST and the stalemate in the JNC negotiations? Perhaps thou might protest too much?

So much for solidarity - I guess it's much easier to played like a pawn (by management) and throw another labor group under the bus than accepting the fact that you and the group you represent haven't been able to obtain a contract on your own.

When exactly was the last time she flew a trip on EAST metal again?

I just got a response from Ms. Volpe. She claims she's been misrepresented and being used by AOL because of a letter she sent.

I think she needs to stand up and clarify her statements to everyone.....not just me in a PM on this board.

Oh for goodness sake, here's the PM I sent to flybynite on August 5th:

"Flybynite~

I wrote the letter to USAPA in order to set the record straight on the events that took place during the Labor/Management meeting that was held on July 26th. A few days after, Randy Mowrey mischaracterized my statement regarding the "Saftey First" campaign. He insinuated I was not consistant with the joint message sent out by the combined MECs on the day the USA Today air was published.

He led the readers to believe that my statement was challenging "Pilot in Command Authority". That never happened. Additionally, he led the reader to conclude that all the labor groups were in support of the "Saftety First" campaign. Again, a twist of the actual events.

My letter was sent to the USAPA officers and the BPR. I believe this is the reason the letter has made it to the web boards.

Deborah"

Now flybynite, would you kindly show me where it mentions AOL or being used by AOL?

Your response/letter was used in an AOL communication..on this thread...that's how I found it in the first place.....on this board. (hyperlink) It was only a sentence or two. Which is also why I stated later that I had not read the letter in it's entirety. Just a blurb so to speak.

And that's why I worded it the way I did. I thought you'd pick up on that.

Now after saying that, I don't know who Randy Mowrey is. I can only assume he is an AOL subject?serf?

Sorry...I just couldn't resist. 🙂
