finally saw the integration list! Page 39, not too bad
For the #1 guy that works in BDL and was hired in 1965. all my respect to you. would love to know what has kept him around.

I actually worked with a few guys that were hired several years prior to 1965. I can wager to say that they too would still be around had their station not be outsourced back in 2005. The #1 guy was in TPA a few years ago, but I guess he finally retired.

Not this ol' bird....I got ZERO credit for my part-time service....a big fat ZERO....those of us hired before May 1, 1979 got nada for their part-time servce.

Another great USAir decision.
I'm not sure how worked prior to this date, as I started afterwards. I do know that when I started with PI, that most of my co-workers were hired on as F/T. I seem to recall that with PI you had to start all over on the Payscale when you went from P/T to F/T. I worked with a few 10yr P/T guys that upgraded after the PI/US merger due to this reason. They did a lot of strange things back then....

Does anybody have a copy of the "New" attendance policy? I would love to take a look at it. Sounds like it sucks, but I have not seen or heard anything yet. When is it supposed to take effect? 18 more days untill Christmas in October. We are officially on the T-minus countdown now.
The Company can only discharge and discipline CWA employees for the standard of just cause. Very strong language. CWA has won many grievances with this language. CWA choose not to have attendance in the contract for the flexibility of just cause. CWA contract regarding reporting off work sick the company may require confirmation of illness when in doubt of bona fide claim a physician’s certificate to confirm such sick claim and you have to notify there supervisor and disclose the nature of the absence no later then 1hr before your shift start. THAT IS ALL THAT IS REQUIRED. STANDARD OF JUST CAUSE

Right on… FAN…

What most on here don’t realize is that in the late 70’s thru 80’s Piedmont Airlines was selective (Good ol’ Boys) as to whom was awarded full-time. The partial credit for part-time service in essence penalized senior people who were held to part-time status… while more junior good ol’ boys got upgraded! This travesty is still reflected in many of our now permanent adjusted classification dates. I think we should call for a class action if this not corrected!

To further elaborate on my point… (I don’t often reply to my own posts)… but I will on this one, due to the level of incompetence demonstrated by our Current Union Leadership!

The Adjusted Classification Seniority dates that many former Piedmont Airlines Employees now... ahhh…have been “assignedâ€￾… are based solely on their ability to play Softball!

That’s right! ... Softball!

The Piedmont good ol’ boy network was so well connected in the 70’s and 80’s that it went to the extent of each Station Manager speaking daily with one another other, via “Dial-Netâ€￾.

When it came time to accept any Part-Time to Full-Time upgrades from another station…The “good ol’ boyâ€￾ Station Managers would insist…that only the best softball players would be sent to them for the interview process. This was done because each station competed in annual Softball Tournaments each year. The Station Managers during this time period… took pride, and competed with another in this endeavor… so only the best ball players were accepted for upgrade to fulltime.

Now… figure in the Piedmont/USAir adjustment formula of screwing part-time employees out of bidding time and we end up here!

Miraculously… guess what… We… the substandard “ball playersâ€￾ to this very day…are junior to agents such as ... those whom…“Could really hit the ballâ€￾!

Now… yahh wanna know why I’m pissed? Is this how a “realâ€￾ union would handle seniority issues?... Think about it !

Perez… Are yahh educated yet?

Roa is right on the money with the above post. I saw first hand the "good ol' boy" network. It was alive and well in CLT. There were other stations that based their upgrades on these qualifications. I think ORF was another.

NAH…. I’ am not going to go there…. all though I could hit the long ball and play some D

Seniority

Seniority is handled in section 6 negotiations. I was part of the first section 6 negotiations at AWA. When the subject of DOH came up, the company said no way and the other 5 in negotiations voted to move on and forget about DOH. I can't speak for what has happened out east over the years. What more can I say, we were there to integrate the seniority lists that were already in place. Find anyone familiar with section 6 negotiations to dispute me. I think a lot of you out east got f**ked with your seniority. I will also say that a lot of people out east don't want to mess with the seniority. Don't kill the messenger, I agree with DOH.
