Knees come on to CLT...and bring other Westies....you'll be welcomed....especially if you have less than 15-20 yrs.. LOL....and if you want to work my flight ....feel free...I'll never turn down an extra hand.....matter of fact I'll stay in the breakroom and watch Springer....

You people still frying your brains watching springer? I'll bring some documentaries for you guys to watch. Get your learnin on. I only have 13 years, so time to break out the night goggles again. It's been awhile since i worked PM shift.

One question i always forget to ask... What is the "Night Shift" in CLT? The hours? There isn't any flights scheduled after 10pm, is there?

doing it,
Not only will you need to learn the southern draaaaaaaaw .. but You better educate yourself

on interpreting the PIT language..

example

Mum = Mom
Don = down

and I think a few 1530-0000
Thats right now & may change with the next bid. If I missed anything some one else chime in.

Come here & enjoy some nice tropical storms weather and look me up!!!! :up:

GF,
I thought I remember you saying you were thinking about defecting to CLT too? Change your mind? If yes, I'm already moving up one in seniority. woo hoo!

Do you waork inside or out in LAS? My understaning is that it is not happy camp in LAS.

To answer your question, East has ALL of the SENIORITY, but West seems to think they have all of the POWER since PHX calls the shots. Which makes West think that somehow that POWER is going to override East SENIORITY. But they know deep down in their hearts that it ani't gonna happen. Thus we must circle up the wagons to begin the WAR of ANIMOSITY!
Theres really two things they are upset about, Tower being grandfathered and given their seniority and somewhat of seniority issues, where some didnt get full service time when they were PT. We blame our past union leadership for bringing workers into our unit with full seniority (hence they were voted out). And well you know about the seniority issue. They dont want us to lose any they just want full seniority for years of service regardless of FT/PT and that may be an issue never resolved. There use to be animosity but since the TA was signed and we see Nov coming no issues between workers for the most part just Mgmt, but thats not new to vegas

We aren't allowed to work on east flights (or handle east bags in the bag room). After the TA was signed, we began working east flights but someone on the east side got upset and called the union.We aren't allowed to help unless it's a "Helping Hands" situation. Helping Hands is poorly defined. They get upset if we help and upset when we don't. It's very frustrating.

Helping hands is simple. In the event of an event beyond the reasonable control of management it's in effect. If management can't staff properly that's their problem and helping hands does not apply. You're taking OT from the other side. If a massive thunderstorm shuts down (fr example) LAX and PHX and LAS get 20 East diverts that's another story. As concieted as US management is they still haven't figured out how to control the weather.

That feeling does NOT exist in LAS at all, except for maybe one or two persons. We all know that almost all the issues are the fault of management, not the employees, with a few being Canales (or his teams) fault. In fact, management has done more to create solidarity by treating us like crap then I can imagine animosity between employees. Yes, tower senority is sticky. The tower folks aren't complaining, and by and large the West group knows there's nothing to do about it. We all need to work together. There's no need to make LAS a nastier place to work at then BC has done already.

BC is retiring as of late OCT, Your new AGC'S are Nick Handlow and Mickey Hughes. They are coming to LAS very soon to hear concerns of all Fleet brothers and Sisters. ND08 believes placing two AGC'S in the Hubs at Usairways will give the membership better representation. PHX will have Frank Odonell and Mark Wingard, CLT will have Mike Crowell and Nick Handlow, PHL will have Frank Odonell and Handlow.

Just got a call that the ''New Direction Team'' will be
in PHL Saturday. Wow, theyve been to PHL twice in the
past 5 months. Thats' two times more than PF and RC
along with BC have been to the station the past few
years.
Funny, first thing everyone asks is why ? Maybe, just maybe
they want to keep the lines of communication open. Good
to hear and good to see.

The sun is slowly setting and with it brings the promise
of a "NEW'' day.
This will be the 4th visit by the ND08, in the last 4 months. The New Direction Team will hold the membership responsible to keep them informed and they will be responsible to listen to the membership! All wall's will be torn down, no east west, no north south, no nothing but solidarity! The only WAR will be against corporate USAIR!

Goodfellow,

There will always be WALLS, WARS, EAST, WEST, NORTH, SOUTH, and very little SOLIDARITY until we have one SENIORITY SYSTEM. We will continue to have problems until we reach an accord that relinquises the stranglehold on our seniority. We should all be treated equally. Some shouldn't be more equal than others and some shouldn't be less equal. Until that day comes, by way of a HIRE DATE SENIORITY SYSTEM, problems will abound.

There's the rub. The east side is no longer allowed to fill vacation slots, etc with overtime, so they pull a west person over to the east to cover what should have been awarded as OT. A lead told me that he questioned the steward and the steward replied that he also disagreed with this practice but didn't feel there was much he could do about it. Also, the late shift is poorly staffed when multiple terminators come in at the same time and helping hands is called at that time. I would like to help voluntarily but, if I do, someone will cry foul.

For whatever the reason may be, management seems to only want to hire on the west. We in the east need our fair share of new hires also. We have people retiring, oji's, vacations to cover, and just plain old being shorthanded. Do some hiring to fill the gaps in the east. Helping hands only takes overtime away from the east. Sending layed off west people from Las to different cities isn't helping the east. It's only overloading the west. The east is still short. Wake up PHX and get us some help that is going to be there day in day out. Helping hands doesn't cut it when we need help everyday. If you do hire us some help and then find that at integration we have too many people, lay them off or let them transfer to cities that are still short. That way everyone wins. We have sufficient manpower to do the job, people are employed, flights are loaded and depart on time. This isn't nuclear science PHX. If you can't row the boat, give up the oars!

East , west , it’s only a few more months till November , who cares about the geographical division anymore?

We should absolutely be concentrating on situating any of our workers who want to transfer to another station to maintain their employment with us airways , if this means running some stations short staffed for a while in order to keep positions open , so be it .
