My education has already began...
I've watched deliverance a bunch of times and I can't get the accent. The NewYorker in me comes out time and time again. I'll go watch it again...

Doing It
Don't worry about the southern accent. We will be holding classes once you get here. I think me and Roabilly can have you speaking proper southern in no time. Jimmy Neutron is almost talking like a native already.

Joe, I don't know.....I think Jimmy has a way to go
Coach
Send him out to work the bins with me and I will have him speakin' with a southern drawl in no time. If I can git that boy from Ohio I work with doing it I can teach anybody.

Well , it actually sounds like management is playing the situation appropriately …. Right now their goal is to cut back on everything , that would include overtime , so if their smart enough to work the helping hands system to their own benefit that just sucks for you …

Have you considered talking to the union to see if you can just integrate the ramp as far as flight/work distribution goes prior to November ?

It makes little sense in my mind to increase staffing at your station if your already adequately staffed but simply won’t or can’t work together because of a “clause†…. I wouldn’t look to the company to elevate your suffering by increasing staffing …highly doubtful .
I talked to MW a few weeks ago and I believe the union's position was to integrate sooner than November. I beleive discussions took place just a couple weeks ago. MW was involved in trying to work this out, however, the company wouldn't agree to integrate sooner.

Regarding the earlier discussion in this thread, don't blame your coworkers if they don't want you to do their job, I wouldn't want you to do our work either. Blame management for refusing to integrate.

Do what the East does. If you see a manager working as a "helping hand", there is no way that the fllight will depart on time as the Union workers will just work SAFER. Sit back and watch the show.

Tim, when will you finally learn to ignore Baghdad Bob? He made his bed, let him sleep in it or join the Sandcastle and cross the line. He is very confused...

Well I actually agree with you dexter , if our union has offered to up the work integration schedule and management has refused then they should just do their jobs … what was the point of this merger if not to integrate our work forces and draw out the synergies ? Doing an A321 with just three people is a lot of work … but what do I know , maybe there are more complex factors at play ? What did MW say was the reason the company didn’t want to combine work groups to start working as a team ?

p.s …. hey dexter , keep hating ….

😎 see ya

Dex wasnt Bagdad bob the guy that was Saddams minister of information? The same guy who was standing on the street giving an interview saying no invading forces where in the city. Meanwhile 2 blocks over US Tanks where driving up the BLVD.

Nice comparision!

Thats his style!

john john,
there is no such agreement or letter for Fleet. If management attempts to work a flight below the wing they get grieved.

Tim,
that helping hands thing is just the company wanting to having its cake and eating it to.

they want us to help them in there staffing but don't want to integrate seniority / double time / o.t procedures. until they absolutely have to.

if they are having staffing issues the balls in there court to INTEGRATE NOW.. they chose not to so let the planes sit.

I remember , and it appears what “popped†the bubble was the economy collapsing….. either way with gas still over 3.50 the US economy is just getting hammered to death … things are not getting better but worse …. Sure some say that the housing situation is starting to stabilize ,I say their smoking crack …. I don’t care what the numbers for July show … I can FEEL the housing market still falling …

Inflation is starting to tick up … thank god we’re in a union and are going to get a 2% inflation edge in January …I only wish we had pushed for 3% ….last Fridays WSJ had an interesting article on inflation here in the us and in Europe …. Over in the old country it looks like they could start suffering from wage increase/inflation spirals because a lot of the workers have clauses that peg their wages to inflation .. As for the US the article said that there’s almost no wage growth here due to workers not having any barging power , aka no unions , did you know in the US unions only comprise a total of 12% of the working population … so anyone not in a union is really going to suffer over the next few years ..(ha ha! )

I believe that we will see commodity prices tick up slightly again after awhile but not to the extent of before , that is of course assuming that the economy it‘s self ticks back up , think of it like the LIMBO bar , how low can you go …. The world economy knocked the bar off and got hurt … now the bar has been set a little lower and we’re going to try and see how low we can go again …or something like that (hard to explain )

Did you know that gold has dropped from it’s all time high of 1000 something in july to around 800 something this month …. The US treasury actually halted it’s sale of us gold bullion because in the month of august SOOOO many people rushed to buy the coin …. That’s very strange , it actually made the news (WSJ ) you should check out the webcite mentioned in the article www.goldismoney.info interesting website …

In up coming news , I wouldn’t be surprised to see one of the MAC’s getting nationalized within the next 30 day s…that’s going to be a whole new can of worms when that $%^& hit’s the fan …

I want to second O-man's advice to check out the dues letter
currently on the UA site.
It makes me mad that the same people who designed that TA
are now getting a 7% pay raise because of it. We need to
take a serious look at the issues raised in that letter. I think
that the leadership is out of touch.
Note to Mr Bondage(who I have for the most part been succesful
in ignoring-both the posts and the counterposts) Even the 3%
annual raise that M@R got will probably lose to inflation. For the
last ten years or so inflation has run around 2.6%. Some feel
that figure is under estimated. It is also not the same as the
COL index which is higher. Anyway we lost big. However
now with our new officers we have a much better chance at the
next negotiations. I wish you would start right now and help to
organize your PHX buddies and begin to educate them as to the
possibilities of solidarity. Not just among 50 or so rogue rampers
whose only concern was a contract where you would make more
money, but among all of FS. Thanks BF

Question: What's the budget of the Messenger?
I don't want anybody to lose thier job but this
seems to me to be fat which could be cut. RD
was talking about a switch of communications
from print media to the internet. I'm all for
that especially if it would save some money.
That certainly would involve the yougner folks more.

Anyway watch for the increased relevance of disseminated
material under the new leadership.

The messenger is published by the District, not the International.
