wonder how long before the dsiplaced LAS agents are fishing for openings in PHX ?

i disagree mike , I believe that every union on the property will willingly take cuts without the need for BK ..

there isn’t even the need for BK in my mind to convince the unions to return to their BK contracts … I feel all of them will do it willingly … it would be a waste of my time to explain to you why I feel this is so , but I’m just writing on here now to soften you up for the coming reality …

so , ah , I guess what I’m saying is , if your topped out on the east and making the full amount , make as much as you can now .... do you hear me , make as much as you can now … the company and our union will be back at the table by the end of summer .

Hey freedom,
just remember one thing.. NOT every member is weak as you and flip like a pancake. if DP came in the break room
and asked you to jump you would say HOW HIGH oh great leader of ours. YOU got your raise enjoy it. YOU obviously didn't vote
for the district officers so YOU DON'T have a say in it .

Hey goodfellow . advice on union issues from freedom is laughable. It's kinda like a kid playing coach pitch lecturing a Major ball player on how
to swing a bat.

This may not be PC but I would recommend anyone in PHX or LAS under the age
of 45 or so and less that 5 years of seniority to go apply to WN in your city. No one
in my station who made the change has regretted it.

Make no mistake about it though , with oil hovering near 140 a barrel , every union on the property will be returning to the BK contracts , long before our current agreement ever expires … guess what it’s 9/11 all over again only worse ….

Hey ,
D*uce Bag. YOU crossed the line again. Keep it up .. the above reference is totally off color. and intolerable.

You really are a blatant Dumb A*s..

Nothing wrong with going to WN. I think HP trained half of WN in LAS anyway.

Since the cats out of the bag, at least one supervisor is rumored to be taking a position on the ramp in LAS as opposed to being laid off. The sup in question has been non FS for at LEAST three years. By my interpretation, both the IAM and TWU contracts stipulate that after 6 months you forfit all classification senority. That puts this supervisor as a day one employee, and thus with less senority then those that are being furloughed. Personally I don't have a problem with him taking a spot on the bottom of the furlough list, but that's just me.

Also, I actually like this guy. Seems US is firing management based on salary and not merit, so BC is still around.

Agreed ‘Oâ€￾…

Equating today’s “Big Oilâ€￾ induced economic debacle to a terrorist attack in the home-land is absolutely deplorable!

It is the Corporations that are preying on our fears at this time…not the terrorist!

Necigrad, yeah not only me, but now it seems that with all the mgmnt layoffs, they are now going to place mgmt into ramp positions and layoff more union dues members. I guess 340 rampers wasnt enough now we have to give up our job to mgmt.

HP,
Don't see how that could happen . Management LOSES there time under the F/S contract . so they should be at the bottom
I don't see how they could bump anyone . IF you don't have a GC in place or need help filing . contact your brothers in CLT
they would be more than happy to help you

any EWR readers,
GREAT JOB in "pouring the dirt over the coffin" .

For the ND08 folks working the polls . ON THERE OWN TIME AND OWN DIME. a Great big THANK YOU .

It's your hard work that is making this happen and the membership is taking notice.

sidenote: PHX complains about not seeing the the Great A** but only once . well he's only been in clt twice in the last
5 years . once to cry the "gun to my head , knife to my back " story and the other to try and blame the company for giving out
the east P/S which we all know was his doing. Well after that meeting he hasn't been back. OH and by the way CLT is US 2nd largest
local. So much for the big union guy being there for the members. what a joke.

Necigrad,
Unfortunately, Randy Canale worked with Hemenway on this one and agreed to bring back all shift managers so they could bump fleet service workers in certain reduction in force situations. Get this, he also agreed that these shift managers would actually retain all previous pay seniority even though Randy threw his own under the bus. I was told that the ramp 'flipped the bill' for this at a tune of over $1 million dollars cost.

Kindly check out Article 7, G. We are only talking about shift managers. Any other type of manager [higher or lower] is not applicable. Shift managers 'ARE" eligible to utilize all retained fleet service time to 'return' to the bargaining unit in the event of a 'reduction in force'.
So although it sounds asinine and profane, Canale approved this to take care of hemenway's men.
The only thing I would add is that according to NMB documents, the fleet service classification and bargaining unit wasn't established until sometime after February '99. So, my position would be that just because some shift manager worked the ramp back in '98, it doesn't necessarily follow that he/she was ever in the bargaining unit. Key action verb is 'return' [to the bargaining unit]. IMO, any pre-'99 shift managers are not eligible since it's impossible to return to something that you were never part of, i.e., a bargaining unit [ramp didn't become a bargaining unit at America West until '99]. I'm sure the company would contend that it did but that's the stuff that grievances are made of.

I totally agree about the stance that labor leaders should be taking in this
envirionment ( ref statement from TN). And I'd like to see the airline
FS unions take an even stronger stance. Let's get a strategy going to
make replacement workers a very difficult option. What about personal
networking for one. In San we have a close relationship with a lot
of contract workers. Some of them work for US.

Now a brief comment on some above querky quazi libertarian comments.
These may be welcome in some armchair discussions on politics or maybe
some radio talk show but here we are more interested in what affects
our daily lives. Their is no question in my mind that we have made
a significant and urgent change.

My miopic understanding of the situation has led me to believe that the
changes we have made need to continue to be fought for and this
will be withing our DL two years from now and starting right now to
influence the higher ups in the union and eventially get change there too
whether it be a change in attitude or a change in personnel. Thanks BF
PS: Although my style may have some originality all of my ideas have come
from those much more qualified than me on this forum. Thanks for
your service. Roabilly: Maybe a bunch of half baked people madly typing away
is making a difference.

Tim,
How many times does Randy have to rub his C**k in peoples faces before they realize . How corrupt he is..

How could a true UNION man/women ever sleep at night knowing they would agree with this kind of BS. Sad thing is

now that its in the POS contract . IT will COST the MEMBERSHIP to get it out.

BF,
Good luck on your elections. Hope you get to spend some time with the ND08 team. Delaney is a stand up guy.

Not sure who all will be in san . but try and spend some time with these folks and you will see that you made the right choice.

We vote on Tue. Were going to get a van and all are welcome to use it. UA, US,
ND08 or Team08. It will be running from 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM.
