700 not that I want to debate this with you there are folks who do read this board but don't post. They may or may not have made up there minds. Therefore everyone will continue to fight for there beliefs right up to the last minute to make ther points so the undecided who may be out there lurking can hear all postions before the vote.
Your correct r/t, many of us read and don't post. After reading Freedom and Giants fan, posts. I wish I could vote NO twice!

Whoa..... there redeye....that's a little harsh. I think you know that was not the intent in which freedom wrote that post. Freedom has every right to voice his opinion on this forum however he wants, just as you do...but that was a little strong.

Freedom gets blasted on these threads but he has no ill intentions...he's simply trying to get out of poverty...an honorable cause.

Maybe he'll get a job with the district and make six figures a year, that's the only
way to escape poverty under this T/A.

Here is some food for thought. Do pay increases go up on the anniversary date of employee lets say after the first full pay period in July 08? That means those due a raise with anniversary dates before July must wait until their next year's date? Those with adjusted dates will be pushed back at least 6 mos. Or does the pay freeze lift totally. Make sure that language is clear. Also if one is furloughed lets say 3 years but has 20 years with the company, does that mean they will take 3 years off the topped out rate even though the adjusted date after seniority is 17 years?

You think this won't happen? Ask IBT/CWA, they are still fighting this fight big time.

You are all better off waiting the 5 months to hit the tables. Listen to the notice Tim sent out from the Clt NC on how he would never vote this TA in and how much less it has to offer from the last POS TA was voted out. You guys have no idea how fast you will get screwed if we merge with UA.

Vote wise, vote NO. A NO vote will protect you in more ways that you can possibly imagine.

Eh ,you want to shoot yourself In the foot , go ahead …

You want to take what’s proposed and gamble it and the years of your life away , go for it … Don’t expect me to join you in a pity party a year from now when you whine about how you WISH you had voted for this , when the economy continues to crash and everything around you falls apart , when your brothers are just a distant memory because you sold them out under the sixty day bus …

And don’t be surprised when you make little to no headway in negotiations in talks with this company because your hardliners will ask for more and more , and they will have too so they can appease all of you for by that time you’ll be bitter at having gone on with so little for so long .

I have yet to hear a viable plan come from the NO people that lays out a better future for all of us … there are so many variables with this proposed merger, all I’m hearing is section 6 on DEC 31st 2009 … Strikes are the last resort , they carry benefits and dangers for those who employ them, remember that .

I think I read somewhere back where a poster wrote that if this T/A is voted down that we start trad. neg. in less than a year???

I beg to differ.....we would START tred. neg. at the END...like Dec 31.....of 2009....

That's when we START neg. and then it's back & forth, blah, blah, blah, the hardliners will be like, NO WAY ...United gets this, DL gets that, CO gets this......and they keep dragging on...next thing you know......look it's almost 2010 and we are still going to be making bk wages from 2003...

And for this I do not need a crystal ball.....

and to freedom's point....we will still have the 60 day rule...so bye bye to a lot of folks with the merger....

That is the pathetic thing. He doesn't even want to be a shop steward. He has no interest in taking part in the process he self admittedly adores Doug Parker. I am half convinced that he just might be DoUgIe in disguise.

So I still have a few days to put in my paperwork and if this POS T/A passes I would be placed on the payscale with an adjusted paydate.

Contract Update:

Good Morning Timmy,

Correct me if I'm wrong Honey, and I know you will, but isn't MF new to the NC? He stated in his little letter, that he was there start to finish. Start to finish to me, would mean the whole two years. Darlin' that confuses me. I thought he started in that ugly meeting they had in January of this year in PHL, or was it Feb? I think I may be missing something. Don't think I'm saying anything negative, just feel like I've missed something. I just hate when I feel left out!

Sugar Dumplin' I sure liked your last post to me. Thanks! Even if we disagree on some petty little things like how to vote, I still think you and I could have a great time shopping in that fine city of yours! I'd just love to shop with a fine looking man like you!

ur new bff!

I talk to these people you say no one cares about every week. They are
people with hardships just like you except they want to return to their
career at a rate their tenure deserves. I think about them every time
your callous fingers stink up this forum with the sickest trash talk. You
sicken me with the lack of respect you show these people. You not only
have a lack of concern as you drive the bus over them but you laugh
as you back up for seconds.

Sounds like a personal attack to me......someone needs a time out....
Freedom is one of the few here who is dealing with the facts and not speculations.....
Redeye's post is totally uncalled for and unproductive......it seems many here just have no interest in union solidarity or pay parity for all. But it shows how the panic is setting in for the one's intent on voting no since many who voted no last time have switched to yes votes once the facts have become clear ..... I applaud those people for their reasoning skills....Thank you

Posts like this are NOT permitted on this board & just got the poster time off.

put your paper work in now , do everything you can to get back as soo as you can , CALL HQ if you need to and try to talk to someone there , do not delay .

This is exactly what many here are just not seeing.....but the non-posters here are getting it and that's why they are voting yes.
This contract does not have the worst vacation, sick, scope, pay...etc........the bk contract the east is under and the old twu contract the west is under .....now , those are the worst. This contract is a substantial improvement and brings all union brothers and sisters into the same deal and pay parity. If you think that a new contract is going to magically appear Jan. 1, 2010......you haven't been paying attention. This company will drag those talks out at least a year......history varifies this.....and if there is a merger, probaly longer if dougie remains in charge.....Then you will be stuck with your bigger pos contract for quite a bit longer. ( Just ask the old awa guys who are going on a contract almost 3 years expired)......

There is not a better deal coming everyone, especially from a company now losing money.....( good bye profit sharing ). A topped out east ramper is throwing away almost $10,000 over the next 2 1/2 years by voting against this contract. And the compnay is not coming back to the table , this is it! And the west will never support a possible strike down the line if the east now votes against union solidarity and pay parity...The Company knows this. In fact they probaly want us to vote no, saves them a lot of money for more bonus's for dougie, etc..... so all the more reason to vote this in or you can stay on your pos bk contract for at least another 2 1/2 years.......enjoy.

9. Article 9 (Reduction in Force) Will apply to West Employees on the Transition Date.

Effective on Transition date amend CBA as follows:

· Paragraph B.2.e modify such that Employee will also be prohibited from submitting system transfers for a period of twelve (12) months to part-time positions in their location if they had sufficient seniority to displace to part-time.

WAKE UP WEST EMPLOYEES.....ALL FULL TIME AGENTS CAN'T BUMP ANY PART TIME FOR 12 MONTHS......WHY.....?
