Also another thing the ND08 team realizes is . WE can vote you and WE can vote OUT just as quick.

thats something thats never happened in our district before. Cause the Great A** has always appointed his officers .
 
I've posted this before....I'm gonna give the New Direction a shot...

I just don't know with oil being $130 a barrel right now how much power Unions (no matter who's leading them!) are going to have...especially if we enter BK court again....
If i could I would love to get off this roller coaster ride....

But… at least we (Fleet) will have individuals that “WE†have chosen to lead us in what ever direction we go. Past history tells us that newly elected candidates, fresh with determination… will perform better than an entrenched, complacent, and redundant administration.

As far the little fuel cost problem goes… we ain’t tha Lone Ranger!
This entire industry is gonna go "belly upâ€, if something’s not done!

Hey ray liotta or maybe redeye if he's still around. Question. I thought in an officer election or bylaw election if you lived more than

35 miles away from your local you were allowed to absentee vote. Can you clarify that for me .
My understanding is 25 miles or more you can absentee vote. It is the members responsibility to notify the recording sec. prior to 30 days of the vote to request absentee ballot. If the member is entitled and requests in writing at least 30 days prior and is denied then I think they need to protest the vote. If they never requested an absentee ballot then they are sol.

It is also the leadership's responsibility to see that members are kept informed on elections! As to date and times etc. I also know many members in PIT that don't know they vote on 6/12/08? They have no info posted anywhere? They will though!

You're right, it is the leadership of the local lodges responsibility to post on the IAM board all notices of elections. If this hasn't been done in any location, then they have a right to protest. I believe the posting is the responsibility of the recording sec. Of course the local lodge president should be overseeing that everyone is doing their job. I don't know about you guys, but I see a lot of protests coming.

to resort to crying foul to the company . Randy is a spineless leader and for the first time he has to PROVE he deserves his
position and Can't . MY question is why can't he . WHAT has he done for this membership in a positive way. NOTHING

Speaking as UA IAM I can tell you, imo, what I believe Randy has done that has benefitted the membership. IN A POSITIVE WAY
1. Negotiated an industry leading contract
2. Negotiated the best out there for bankrupt company
3. Ensured us of pension plan
4. Protected our retirees through bankruptcy
5. Has provided true diversity in representation

How do you know he is crying foul to the company? Because you read one persons opinion on a website?

I'm a strong believer in the saying that people who have no ideas talk about people. People who have ideas talk about ideas.
Compare the two campaigning websites. One campaign (nd08 and canaleunplugged) talks about people. The other campaign (team 2008) talks about ideas. I guess the voting booth will tell which direction we're heading. A leader with constructive ideas or a leader who likes to gossip.

A plan or purpose of action; intention; design.

GOSSIP The tattle of a gossip; groundless rumor. One who runs house to house, tattling and telling news; an idle tattler.

and that's YOUR opinion about what he has done for UA hell CO makes more and doesnt even have a union He certainly has done none of that for US far from it maybe his UA board seat has something to do with it

and why doesnt he come meet with the rank and file ? is he scared to come to PHL or CLT?
 
question to all my well informed brothers/sisters.

With the company claiming to be in the poor house again. Is it possible to file chapter 11 and force a new BK contract down our throats.
I haven't even gotten used to getting paid 17something an hour. I don't even know if that is happening until next week's check and I've heard that something in payroll went wrong and we will be getting reto checks for the money not paid out now.
Any truth to this?
I also asked in the last thread, ANYBODY know about the drastic cuts in flights come sept?

It’s entirely possible we could end back up in the BK contract.. The times are as they say looking worse than 9/11 .. Of course thou if it happens again THIS time , we will know what we WON’T DO …

More canalities: Denied Tim Nelson into grievance chair meeting in PIT! Denied Mike Crowell as well, saying he doesn't care about CLT; when Mike said he was there to represent the member's of CLT!!!! Shame,shame ,shame! FACT: WE THE MEMBER'S NEED TO REPLACE THIS KIND OF NON LEADERSHIP(arrogance of an a;;s wipe)!!!!AND REPLACE HIM AND HIS BAND OF DO NOTHINGS.!!!!!
