pjirish,
thanks for your hard work and getting the word out.. Your a Good Union man..

keep up the good work in that part of the Carolina's.. Oh and by the way hope you stopped and got some

real BBQ .. I stopped in lexington last week for the best in the state.

So is what Canale saying/doing legitimate or not? If it is seems like option 2 would be the best bet that way we can have an all out war in 2009. Any TA that is in the works is going to be weak and be pushed till 2011 or so...
Randy isn't going to merge the west into the east contract without a vote, it may surprise you to know that Randy is a strong Labor guy and he would never do that. I'm not sure of any sidebar negotiations but I agree with District force that sidebar negotiations are quite common.

The problem Randy has is that the membership has no confidence in him because he has bought what US AIRWAYS and United have sold him and it's been at the expense of members. I don't think Randy sees it that way but Randy's arrogance is his downfall. Unfortunately, he ends up with yes men by isolating or getting rid of those who disagree with him on occasion.

But it didn't surprise me when I heard the other day that those close to him are now trying to convince him to retire so his ticket won't go down with him in June. I think he will retire before he gets voted out of office this June and many on this board will be happier.

Yes he has. He has earned the respect of dougweiser and co.
PJ, congrats on your nomination of the NEW DIRECTION TEAM in INT. We broke the 53 year record by securing 10 nominations already. Previously the most nominations any competing team got was 9. We got 10 in the first week and we are shooting for 25-30. Our nominations already represent 15,000 of the 25,000 members of this district but we are trying to get enough local nominations to represent over 20,000 members or 80% of the district. To do this we need more people like you to do what needs to be done. The bigger the vote against Canale, the bigger the voice in the District AND the negotiations room.

As aside, who was the dufus who nominated Canale there? Any Local Chairman who sells out his members and nominates Canale should be marked.

For those at the smaller stations who want to make your station a part of the NEW DIRECTION TEAM and join in on our winning slate, email me here

From the AP Newswire, today, Saturday,
There is speculation that US Airways Group Inc. could bid for Continental or United, although it might need a partner who can bring cash to the table.

Fleet service needs to hold its position and stay away from settling for a quickie transition contract, more's on the table, and jobs will be lost in a merger if the right contract isn't signed.

I agree with Rattails, if Canale just 'bull rushes' the negotiations and creates a 'sweetheart' deal with Parker by giving Parker what he needs to move forward by handing him a transition without a vote and sliding the west into the east contract, then it will most likely be a DFR considering that Boss Canale sits on the UA board and is privileged to insider information. One thing we all know is that Boss Canale is prejudice towards United.

At any rate, it appears another goofy contract is coming since US AIRWAYS wants to get this deal done in the worst way. Don't let Parker hoodwink fleet, stick together and hold out for a fair contract. Bottom line, your contract is in sore need of better merger protections, job guarantees, etc. Every merger loses thousands of jobs so with the high seniority of United and US EAST, I would be very careful as a west sider to support any transition [voted or otherwise] that doesn't offer better job protections.

An assortment of United, US Airways, and Retirees voted in
favor of a New Direction.
A thanks must go to the RDU workers who made the 2
hour drive!

To all the RDU workers who made a 4 hr drive to go vote. Thanks You are all true UNION people.

And to think people complain about going to the local hall because it takes to much time. We have a great chance to get rid of these

Canale Bums and bring change. New Direction has won 10 lodges this week breaking long holding records, alot of lodges are having votes

this coming week. To all the workers who have not had a Lodge nomination vote yet get involved you have a chance to do something

other than complaining.

Nominate and Vote New Direction

6:39PM - Thank you for all your support
Thank you for all the continued support for Randy Canale and his Team 2008. Thank you for each station at UA and US that voted to nominate Team 08. The No-Direction Slate continues to lose support after each station is made aware of the work ethic of these people. Momentum is gaining for Randy Canale throughout the system. Look for Team 08 to continue winning the nominations at the remaining stations.

The comments we have received from all of you have been very supportive. We developed this grassroots site @ Delaneyrevealed and we have received numerous requests from members to make this site more informative and not stoop as low as the opposition slate's slander and lies. The new posts will now be in regards to being more informative as to Randy's past accomplishments, the team that he has running with him, and how the membership will reap the benefit in protecting your futures with the representation from Team 2008.

The common theme from the other sites is that they choose to use member apathy and ignorance to gain votes against Team 2008. This site will be dedicated to giving proof as to why Team 2008 is better team to negotiate your contracts, protect your jobs, and handle your grievances versus mis-management.

Rich Delaney has been the Chicago AGC for the past three years and in those three years he has let the company change long standing work rules, local agreements which only benefit management and intentionally not heard member grievances just so he would be able to point the finger at Randy and blame Randy for his own shortcomings. Sacrificing the membership in his own home town is no way to gain support. Keeping his membership uneducated and uninformed to help his political agenda. His record speaks for its self. He is a incompetent leader who will spread his lack of work ethic throughout the system if he is elected. If Delaney was a leader looking out for the membership then his home station UA O'Hare should be a utopia, and it's far from it. Rich Delaney has allowed the company to run amuck, and allow management to do whatever they want to the members with no repercussion. Members at Chicago UA are extremely upset with the job Rich has performed over his past 3 years. The worst example is that of a Ramp serviceman in Chicago who was injured on the job, the company violated his contractual rights, but Delaney refused to hear his 3rd step grievance because the member voiced his concern over Rich's lack of representation. UA and US management would want nothing more than to have Delaney and his No-Direction team win so they could have an inexperienced team negotiating the merger and new contracts. Delaney admitted and agreed he represented the part-time full-time / cross utilization committee, but now states he didn't understand what he was agreeing to. Is this who you want negotiating and wasting your dues dollars?

Rich Delaney's No-Direction slate in made up of a group of anti-IAM advocates who promoted other unions and management supporting no-names with no contractual negotiating or grievance resolving experience.

Randy Canale has on the other hand brought the 2000 contract under traditional negotiations, he has worked his way through mergers and bankruptcies to protect job security, workers benefits and wages. In fact two bankruptcies at US Airways then a merger. Two bankruptcies for United, then he willingly protected the retirees when no other union stepped up. He achieved all this under bankruptcy laws forced upon us by corporate blackmail, which is, negotiate or they abrogate (impose whatever work rules) the contract. Randy's performance as the President and Directing Chair has been outstanding and we should be confident that he stepped forward to run another term to represent us in the upcoming merger.

UAL in bankruptcy looked to eliminate the defined benefit pension. Randy led negotiators through bankruptcy to be the only union at UAL with a defined benefit pension. 401k defined contributions are heading downwards as the market stumbles. While your IAM pension remains stable.

When selecting your representatives Randy selected representatives from every classification to represent each work group on the the field at US and UA. Every member at each work group and station needs to have their voice heard. Randy is a man with integrity running for re-election because he is a true unionist. Randy always has been and always will be a man we can trust and believe in, there are very few people that would put their lives on hold and place the members first. He sincerely does not deserve the lies and mis-information being distributed by the No-Direction Slate.

The bottomline is that in 2002 Randy negotiated the best contract in the industry for UA and even through forced concessions at UA and US those contracts are still superior to contracts of other union represented work groups who did not go through bankruptcy.

We here at Delaneyrevealed understand that most members are being mislead by union reps with personal political agendas. But the facts are the facts. Randy is by far the better man for the job.

Again we at Delaneyrevealed are dedicated to the truth and facts. We will continue to let you post whatever comments you like but those comments that are inappropriate or not related to union representation may be deleted.

Again stay strong and educated. The worst thing the company can face is a educated member with a strong union leadership. Randy Canale is the man who will lead us into the future.

 I'm Sorry, that was the best joke I've heard this week!

No, I am wrong. The silliest thing I heard this week was: "I would like to nominate Randy Canale"

But that was real good Karen, real good!

Nice try. By ur own admission you will delete what you want because you control the website. Nice try. This forum is full of people who state facts and have lived thru the great Canali era. No thanks. If you want to debate then do it in front of the membership where everyone present can decide for themselves. You see, yes there might be some on here that have old war wounds but alot are just fed up with the NORM from this unions administration. The newbies are hear to learn what free unionism is all about and that comes from truth. These threads are about reading ur contract and understanding what it says. I could give a s..t what Tim or you have to say about each others quarrels. All I know is that there are alot of fellow dues paying member that need information and the only ones providing it are the " New Direction Slate ". You're only here because you don't know HOW else to get in touch with us....All you have to do is visit stations once every month, but no, we only see you at card signing for Iam and not even now.

That escrow account with TWU dues must be looking pretty juice to you guys right now..........

How you gonna explain that to the boss when he can't collect...

The supporters of Randy Canale are not working members of the fleet. They stick out when they
post thier views on the events going on leading up to the nominations and vote. Just look at thier
site name and number of posts. They have just joined this site only out of fear of losing thier
positions within the IAM along side Canlale. Thier sole purpose of joining this site is to try
and disrupt what has been a very positive response to the ''New Direction Slate''.

So welcome to the board ''141 Voter, Local Lodge, and others'' I look forward to seeing your 5th,
6th and 7th posts'. You were nowhere to be found til now that your ''golden calf'' is being threatened.
Well, I have some bad news for you it may be to late...

Thanks

Perv or Tim,
Whats' going on in Phl ? I hear G.S. has replaced Hayden but G.S. has now
asked Hayden's best bud to be a committee man. I know that the three of them were
members of the last Phl committee and it appears it's headed back that way, only in a
different pecking order. This is the word spreading in Phl and that these guys were very
chummy with Canale at the Phl meeting this past Tues.

Is this true ? or maybe either of you can clear this up alittle.
