OK I've been on dues checkoff since 2008 and in good standing since then and now all of a sudden I am in bad standing and they say I owe a chunk of change. Who can I discuss and confer on USAPA on the west side to see if I am being screwed before I pay?

Good Question! I've been on dues checkoff for many years as well and just tried to check my status on the USCABA website. I'm not the sharpest tool in the box but I've seen a few websites ( no porn jokes ) and found no obvious link to check membership status and account information

Did you pay the $100 extortion to get back in good standing? Also, you had until 12/11/13 to pay up so don't panic. Like all things USAPA: if it helps an Easthole or hurts one of us, they are on it like flies on ####. If it only helps you they'll get to it sometime in the future.

Same exact situation here. Check delivered and cashed since last week. Guess we are good, right? I also DO NOT trust them bastards!

I just called CHAOS headquarters to see the procedure from when they receive the check, to depositing, to acknowledging and returning to good standing. I was told when the computer shows the balance not negative we will receive a mailed balance. So, I asked "then when you see the extortion money is in your account then you send out a balance receipt, but we will receive that after the must be received by date, right?" He got mad and said it's not extortion money and hung up... p.s. I am talking about a 49 cent check I had to write them. I really, really, really hate these guys.

how can we be 100% sure that we are off the hook? Checks received and cashed, but I do NOT want to give these a$$ wipes the benefit of the doubt, and fire some of us....

This is total BS I can't believe airline pilots run a dirtbag operation like this supposed joke of a union. Pure extortion"
OKAY JJ BACK UP YOUR BS! BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW! THIS IS A WEST RECALL EAST!

Would you like a DNA sample?

That's right up there with false RICO charges.

You go girl...It's no wonder your union is despised.

Fourth Circuit rules. WE WIN!!!!!

"On May 30, 2008 a RICO law suit was filed against me and 23 other America West pilots by our new union Us Airline Pilots Association. After being dismissed from federal court with prejudice without even going to trial. The case was so poor the judge would not even let them try again. USAPA than filed an appeal in the Fourth Circuit court of Appeals in Richmond.
Today 26 months later we finally have our answer. The Fourth Circuit in a unanimous decision upheld or affirmed the district court. This is a tremendous win for all of the Cactus 18 today. Hopefully this will put an end to the vicious and unfounded attack that the leadership of USAPA has aimed our way. Unfortunately I fear that this case may not be over.
USAPA is under pressure to deliver a contract and after two years of telling the pilots that we were criminals and had done something wrong. After spending upwards of $300,000.00 of pilot dues money they have nothing to show for it.
This is the response that the Communications Chairman put out after their loss.
Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond Affirms Dismissal
Today the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia, issued its ruling on USAPA's appeal of the dismissal of its lawsuit brought in 2008. USAPA filed the suit, alleging violations of the RICO Statute, against certain pilots who were alleged to be engaged in an overt attempt to deny all US Airways pilots their right to collectively bargain by attempting to destroy our union and performing other harmful and destructive acts to disrupt the union’s ability to perform its representational responsibilities. The appeals court today affirmed the dismissal. Attorneys for the Association are reviewing the ruling presently for potential next steps.

Even after losing twice in two different courts in their own backyard these guys still can not admit they were wrong and let it go. The right thing to do would be to apologize and maybe even offer to pay our legal fees for this ordeal. But in typical fashion USAPA threatens to continue the attack and division"

RR theorem? Rich in failure and denial.

USAPA was going to show ALPA the greatest union in history, instead you showed them the greatest airway union failure. I seem to remember an event where the Philadelphia reps got put in trusteeship. So, if you could not even run a domicile how could you run a union?

Executive Board Affirms Trusteeship for Local Council 41
Unanimously votes that representatives failed to fulfill basic duties of office

"The ALPA Executive Board met in Washington, D.C., today, and unanimously affirmed the trusteeship of Local Council 41, which represents US Airways pilots based in Philadelphia. The vote came after a lengthy hearing and subsequent discussion among Executive Board members."

"The practical effect of the vote is to leave the council in trusteeship, continue to bar its former officers from serving, and leave the three appointed trustees in place."

You all wanted to run the show. ALPA showed a pattern of failing to do your duties. That continues to this day. Evidence shows that a number of the pilots USAPA claims to represent are less than satisfied with USAPA's representation and attempts to get pilots terminated under section 29. I"ll share some comments:

"I recieved my notice on 11/19/2013. I wrote a check and mailed on 11/23/2013 with Delivery Confirmation. 12/4/2013 is the drop dead date. USPS says it was delivered on 11/25/2013. I just checked the USCABA website (and I feel gross), and im still listed as a non member. Im assuming that means in bad standing. Just checked my bank account and the check has cleared. Im ASSuming that all is good even though its not reflected on their website. How does one be sure? I just dont trust these thieves!

Why are you asking me? Aren't you looking at it?

General Question for everyone:
Not that I'm not entertained by the bitter sniping going on - but - has anyone:

1. Read the AA contract?
2. Is there a QRG for differences between the old US and new AA contract?
3. Anyone know if it goes into effect on the 9th or the 10th?

I'm planning on sitting down and reading the thing, but if anyone has notes and would like to share, that would be great too.
A recent email from the union piqued my interest in what I don't know about the new work rules.
I'll post what I discover.....just be warned I'm a slow reader.
Cheers.
