If nic was at AWA as long as he claims the furloughed US pilots probably made more. His numbers of furloughed are off too. Shocker.

I never thought I'd be looked down upon by an America West pilot.

You're a beancounter so how many of the gazillion dollars in damages that nic has been predicting do you think you will see?

I'm not looking down at US east pilots, but it I think plenty of east pilots look down at AWA pilots.  I think that is why it was so hard for some east pilots to accept that the airline that came to US Airways rescue was AWA.  Yes I know, we saved each other.

I don't know about a gazillion, but it will probably be a significant amount.  Usually DFRs are hard to prove, but USAPAs prior leaders were very arrogant in their disregard for the west.  There wasn't much of an attempt to hide their true intentions.  When ripe, it's what you call a, "slam dunk." 🙂  Maybe the merger will go through and there won't be a need for further lawsuits.  Who knows........lots of variables.

That institution must have taught something similar to new math. New logic:

"By "over" I mean the legal noose will be fully clamped around USAPAs neck and their feet are fully off the ground. The majority on the East will not entertain years more abuse for a handful of angry FO's. They let you drive the ship the last several years and you guys buried it in the ground. Even if under appeal I expect the company to come up with a contract that will pass 51% and do what they can to force a vote on it. The BPR is already under tremendous pressure to get a contract. When Kasher fails and Silver hangs liability on the company and they refuse to entertain DOH, the BPR will either acquiesce to the majority or be thrown out. The AFO's will be fully unable to stop the momentum towards getting OFF LOA93 ASAP when those two pieces fall into place.

That will be by this April. The first contractual vote...NIC Inclusive...will pass 85%"

Hmm...I'm less certain on even so much as ANY flavor of "logic" having been taught within, but whatever august "educational institutions" most certainly fielded fine departments for drama and theater arts. 😉

That's bullshit! I went OVERBOARD trying to get you guys to work with us and find some peace. Stravers, McCutchion, and several others wanted to bury an axe in our heads. That's when I said enough. You guys can rot in PHX. Oh, and FYI "your rescue" was the superior East coast BUSINESS travelers and presence in CLT, DCA and New England that gave you guys some future. You West pilots are just LIARS!

I agree with you Bean. We are hiring on the East. Why wasn't a West furloughed pilot afforded his DOH from the beginning? How many ways can people skew this thing. If it's DOH, then by God, it's DOH! Not just when it's convenient.
I agree.  The west pilots working east right now should be doing so based on their west DOH, period.  I raised that question to USAPA a while back, and I don't remember the reason.  Who knows what the real story is?

That the company won't allow it is certainly plausible. Mgmt's done it's best to avoid liability throughout this mess, and meddles at all, only when it serves the purposes of delay/etc.

I know this will come as a shock, but there are a few arrogant pilots at every airline that look down at others. But when you have been a bottom feeder for decades, as Nic was, I find his posts hard to take. You do know that AWA's contract was the template for LOA 93, right?

I can't believe that you think there will be ANY damages from this. I gave you more credit. What's the damage?

As just a line pilot that was never directly involved; I can at least observe that any/ALL online suggestions of even discussing the viability of the nic were 100%, without exception, universally derided with such pithy gems as "Booyooshaka!"..."It's OVER!...Get used to it!" etc.

My personal feelings, unavoidably accumulated over time, nowadays fully agree with your sentiments concerning "You guys can rot in PHX". 😉

What I hear is that the easts idea of modifying the NIc was DOH with restrictions.  Who's telling the truth?  I tend to not believe the guy changing the name on the office door to get out of an arbitration.  Also, refusing to admit that US was on the verge of liquadation prior to the merger, doesn't help your case any.

All I can add is that I never tried to bury an axe in anyones head.

I can't believe you think that the results of the arbitration can be ignored and a DOH list imposed, with no consequences.  Say it isn't so.

P.S. Signing off.  Being sick and having crummy weather outside give me an excuse to goof off on the internet for only so long.

The NIC was also DOH with slotting and stapling without regard to LOS. It's why ALPA abandoned that substandard range of reasonableness.

It very well could have been different IF you and your West AWA merger committee came off the "Nic or nothing" line.  THAT'S the truth...a very inconvenient truth for you I know.  The "final and binding" nature of ALPA merger policy ONLY applied to the effort ALPA national was going to spend in PAYING for the merging of lists.  The companies ONLY condition of accepting ANY lists (plural) who's only condition was essentially to be no cost to them.  That is an inconvenient truth.  So US Airways was on "the verge" of liquidation.  THE POINT WAS NO MONEY WAS GOING TO ANYONE WITHOUT A MERGER.  It wasn't the WEST pilots that pony upped wages and benefits, it was EAST pilots under LOA 93.  Now were getting the growth back due to attrition and I'd rather see it go to new hires than West guys after all the LIES you West guys tell.  Even Jeff Koontz LIED ON THE STAND when he said that the Nicolau award was a length of service list.  HE LIED!  But that is what West pilots do.  THEY LIE and now they want to sell the new hires on the East down the river a ride on a plank.  WHAT A JOKE you West guys are.  Truly the low of the low.  The message to the new hires now is that IF the West get their own place in M/B then the new hires should have their own interest representing them.  West pilots are PATHETIC!

I heard that West pilots are going to invest all their hard earned winnings into KHAT and invest in KHAT farms in Somalia.  I wouldn't be surprised if they form their own wing of Al Qaeda in America.

That's why you can't be trusted to come up with a fair list.  I can just see your list:

1.  US east pilots
2.  US third listers (girlfriend)
3.  AA pilots
4.  US west pilots

Thankfully there are things called laws and arbitration.

OMG!  You just revealed the USAPA game plan.  At least I like girls.  You West guys just like to sit in circle jerks and tell each other how great you are.  I hope the new hires here and at APA see you for what you really are.....SCABS.

Well Bean, file a "mean old easties didn't do things the way I wanted so I deserve money" suit and not a DFR.

The TA came first. It's still the governing document. Separate operations until we have a joint contract. Period. As of today binding arbitration is still as much of an issue as it was in 2007, we just haven't gotten to where(if) it will used.
