Me neither. The signature speaks for itselfIt was signed and it cost pilots money. There is no sense is denying he signed it or its affect. I could even agree with him that it was right, maybe, but the fact is the new language replaces the old language and let the company off the hook for language THEY originally gave us. The money is now gone but it only affects a relatively small portion of the pilots so it won't even be noticed, much less understood by the vast majority. 🙂
And the changes APA made also "speak for themselves?" Do each of those changes affect each and every pilot at both airlines EXACTLY the same? Just as with the change to the reto, I have no idea. But I do have an idea that it being brought up at this time, after all these months, on the eve of finality all things local USAPA politics, has the exactly same meaning going forward as our ex-president suing us over his/our trademark. Entire empires that have been built over the decades here within our small union(s) are about to be rendered moot in 5 or so days. Bravo.
We now have at least 6 sitting USAPA reps claiming one of the founding tenets of the union, the avoidance of roll call, somehow now is wrong. They also now, obviously never even read the CBL until as of late, have a problem with the dissolution phase of our existence. 75% of our pilots agree with our new path, and about 1% speak louder than all the rest against a process that has moved us forward for the first time since 1998. Yikes. The boogey man and his evil gang are about to get me the single biggest one day improvement in my lifestyle than all before combined, absent a terror attack. It was the pilots that voted, of course. But it took leadership to get us here. Chicken and Egg. RR 🙂 Note: I just added a smily face. Enjoying the give and take here Phoenix, thanks for the logical back and forth!

I will continue for only a very few days to reference internal union politics, that will end for me next Monday. By the end of the month I will exit this forum forever. Thanks for taking the time to actually read our agreement. The fact you are in a small minority of our pilots to do so is commended. Overall a really disconnected and actually underserving group of pilots. The fact our own elected reps have not done so is pitiful.Phoenix said:
You seem to have a real desire to wallow in the mud of politics, and frankly I am offended at your innuendo and suggestions. I thought you could be above such now that we have a new contract (technically contingent still). My original post was meant as a comment on how the company always finds a way to encroach on the contracts they sign. Its their job and they do it well. 😀 This time they got started before they got started.![]()
I was reading the MOU and the Retro pay today (because I don't rely on sound bites) to find out exactly what it says. An agreement was made to change the language of the Retro Pay after we ratified it, and I never heard any word about that change being considered or being signed. Simple as that. I was surprised to see the change. For a minority of pilots it will reduce their Retro Pay by a significant margin. Sure they will get over it and they won't go hungry. It probably didn't affect you anyway. It only affect pilots that had an increase in pay rate (upgrade, etc.) since we ratified the MOU.
We had language in the Retro Pay letter that was beneficial to us and we let the company off the hook, and agreed to a change to the wording to benefit them... Maybe the language was a mistake and we did the right thing.
Agreeing to the change at the company request could simply be eliminating an accidental mistake they made to our benefit.
Like I said earlier. The MOU is the MOU. Its not good or bad, it simply is. And we all get to abide by the terms of it, because we ratified it. That's the way it works. Even Leospanker doesn't dispute that.

Thanks. You acknowledge the progress. No NIC, no widebodies for current PHX pilots..ever. We will agree to disagree as to the reason (s). RRRes Judicata said:You got the single biggest improvement in lifestyle for two very specific reasons:
1) Doug Parker wanted something
2) The APA had what he wanted. USCABA was lucky enough to tag along. There isn't a shadow of a doubt that without the merger, USCABA would still be relegated to an ignored useless, unimportant organization that resides in an dilapidated office building in North Carolina.
If anyone actually believes Hummers bullschitt that USTUPID had any influence upon this merger is probably dumb enough to have voted for USCABA as their "union".

Two airlines are merging. Not three. Hard lessons coming your way scab.Reed Richards said:No widebodies, other than new deliveries going forward, ever ..for the West Class. Hot off the press from the the APA HQ. You read it here first. RR
Yep, Two legacy airlines and a small, unproductive crewbase full of undesirables. Agreed. RRRes Judicata said:Two airlines are merging. Not three. Hard lessons coming your way scab.

American should take note of the misplaced entitlement and unfounded superiority complex which goes from top to bottom with many in the East ranks.
